The year 1997. The place, modern Tokyo. On the day of her fifteenth birthday, Kagome’s day starts like any other. That is until she was forced to look for her cat that went missing. Looking around the shrine that her grandfather owns, she began to investigate the old well. Believing that her cat was don there she began to crawl down while her little brother watches. Then she is drawn into another world through shrine well. She is thrust back in time to the Sengoku Jidai Era (age of the warring states) 400 years in the past where demons cause chaos in the world in search of the powerful jewel that grants demons as well as humans power, the Shikon no Tama. When Kagome crawls out of the well she doesn’t know were she is until she sees the big tree that is by her family temple. When she gets there she sees a boy that is bound to the tree by a arrow. She then accidentally unleashes the previously sealed half-demon, half-human who was sentenced to everlasting sleep with a magical arrow to a tree by the name of Inuyasha. From there the legend of the girl who crossed time to meet the sealed boy begins...
When Inuyasha awakens he believes that Kagome is Kikyo, the girl who shot him and bound him to the tree. Kikyo’s sister kaede tells Kagome that she is Kikyo reborn. Then after a incident when a demon crow tried to steal the Shikon jewel, Kagome shot an arrow at the demon to destroy it but instead of hitting it she hits the jewel and its shards are scattered every where. Now joined with Inuyasha, the two start a journey to recover the jewel shards before they fall in to evil hands. On their journey they encounter new friends and comrades. They are joined with a young fox demon named Shippo who at first attacked Inuyasha and Kagome for the shards to get stronger and revenge his father’s death. Later they meet up with a monk named Miriko whose family was cursed by an evil guy named Naraku the same guy who made Inuyasha and Kikyo hate each other. A girl named Sango, who also seeks revenge on Naraku for killing and destroying her village, also joins them. Naraku is not the only one who stands in their way in recovering the lost jewel shards. Inuyasha’s half brother Sesshoumaru who is a full demon, seeks the magical sword that Inuyasha carries with him. The sword was a gift from his demon father after he died that can produce a lot of power but cannot be held by a full demon. Though many dangers stand before them, Kagome and the gang will fight to the death to recover the shards of the sacred jewel.
