| Additional Information: | Wufei was a scholar as a child,
and went to boarding school until the age of 13 or 14. Then, he came back
home to meet his new bride that his family had chosen for him. Much to his
disgust, it was an opinionated, foul-tempered, girl by the name of Long
Meiran. After storming off from the wedding ceremony, Wufei was found in a
field of flowers by his new wife, who proceeded to challenge him to a
fight. Wufei quickly defeats the self-proclaimed Nataku, or Justice, and
then walks away.
Later, their colony comes under attack by Alliance forces, and in order to protect the hidden Shenlong Gundam, Nataku hops into a mobile suit so that Wufei can get the Gundam out of harms way. She is seriously injured in the process, and by the time that Wufei catches up to Meiran, it is too late for anyone to help her. As her last request, she asks her husband to take her to his field of flowers and dies in his arms shortly after. During the war, Wufei fights in the name of 'Nataku' and also refers to his Gundam by the name Nataku, in memory of his dead wife. Wufei develops some rather interesting concepts about whom he will or won't fight, like women, weak enemies, those without honour must be fought, yatta, yatta, yatta. He challenges Treize to a sword duel, which he loses to Treize's superior skill, and when he is not killed, Wufei begins to question his worth as a warrior. It isn't until he meets up with Sally, who by this time is the head of a guerilla rebel faction, that he gains the courage to pilot Nataku again and join his place in the war effort. He soon fully takes his spot next to the other Gundam pilots, getting caught with Heero and ending up on the Lunar Base, where he formally meets Duo. At the end of the series, L5 is blown up in front of Wufei and then he meets up with Treize again, and another battle ensues, this time resulting in Wufei's victory over Treize and Treize's untimely death. Soon after peace ensues, Wufei is restless and has a hard time finding his niche in society. He is then recruited for the Mariemaia Army, but is soon confronted by the other Gundam pilots. While fighting Heero, Wufei questions the reason why Heero is fighting. It isn't until he sees the people of Earth standing with Heero, Duo, Zechs and the others that he realizes that peace is something that all must fight for to obtain and maintain. He finally lets go of Nataku by blowing it up, and soon afterwards is asked by Sally to replace Noin in the ranks of the Preventers, since the black-haired woman took off with Zechs to Mars. |
