Session 23: "Brain Scratch"

So, there's a new guy in town. His name is Dr. Lourdes, and he's the leader of a new cult, SCRATCH, the transmigration into electronics, which supports people downloading their brans onto the internet. Problem is, the members keep killing themselves. Newest member? Oh, just someone named Faye Valentine.

Anyhoo, Spike and Jet are looking to collect the bounty, but no one seems to know where he is. Suddenly, they get a call from Faye: she doesn't tell them where she is or what's wrong...but she does tell them that she's finally free of her debt before she passes out!

So, Jet picks up the latest VR Toy for kids and uses it to hack into the SCRATCH files, hoping to find Lourdes. What he almost gets is a free membership. Fortunatly, Ein snaps him out of it, then does the navigation himself (whoa...smart dog...).

So, now Spike is outside of where Faye is when Jet calls. They've found Lourdes. Spike, however, decides he doesn't have time and goes in to find lots of dead bounty hunters and one almost-but-not-dead-yet Faye Valentine.

Meanwhile, it turns out Lourdes was merely a hacker who was left as a mental vegetable thanks to a botched operation. He was, however, able to hack into the net through his life support system. Jet and Ed pull the plug and Lourdes comes to an end, with Faye making a full recovery.
