Characters Kikyou
 |
Name: Kikyou
Age: Before she died: 17
Strengths: Kikyou had or did have mystic abilities. She could at one time, purify evil in the Shikon shards with her prescence (I don't know if she can anymore). Her weapon is a bow and arrow. Her arrows aren't ordinary arrows when shot, and are powerful exorcising weapons. Weaknesses: Kikyou is human, and what more, now she's dead, so her body is extremely weak and always in danger of falling apart if she doesn't have enough dead souls to nourish it. |
| Information: Kikyou has been known as the Miko of Sorrow. Sadly, that title fits her well. She was a miko (Shinto Priestess) all her life, protecting her village from demons. She was then given the extra responsibitiy to purify the Shikon Jewel. Inuyasha was one of the people who actually tried to steal the jewel. Kikyou never tried to kill Inuyasha, but would always stop him. Somehow, they both knew they wouldn't hurt each other.... Kikyou always wanted to be a normal woman, but the Shikon Jewel made that impossible, because she was always guarding it. When she and Inuyasha fell in love...she saw the Jewel could be an answer to her dreams, and she and Inuyasha hoped to use the jewel to make Inuyasha completely human, so he could live his life with her, and hopefully making the jewel disappear in the process of purification. However, the plots of Onigumo/Naraku lead them to distrust each other, and Kikyou ended up dying. However, Kikyou's story doesn't end there. Kagome's soul was extracted, and Kikyou was brought back to "life" in a doll made of her gravesoil and bones. Even in death, she was allowed no peace. She thought she'd be with Inuyasha in death, but Inuyasha didn't die, and when she was brought back to "life", she was angry that they weren't together. Now Kikyou searches for meaning to her new "life" and can't decide if she loves Inuyasha, hates him, or both in a twisted matter. Kikyou was and always has been a soft-spoken, gentle soul, but powerful, and terrifying when angry. Now her hidden agendas in her new "life" makes it hard to define her character; especially to find any good qualities. |
