Her arrows aren't ordinary arrows when shot, and are powerful when she is determined. Her arrows can powerfully destroy and exorcise evil. Kagome is very intelligent, and often gets Inuyasha out of trouble, because he always leaps before he thinks.

She knows how to survive and fight, and can quickly take control of a dire situation. She often feels concerned about her fate, the fate of the Shikon Jewel, and if her soul is truly hers alone, since Kaede tells her that she must be the reincarnation of her dead older sister, Kikyou, because of her looks and abilities are exactly like Kikyou's (and turns out later that Kagome's soul is the reincarnated soul of Kikyou).
