Inuyasha

Name: Inuyasha

Age: Minus 50 years imprisoned on the tree, his age is unknown. However, he's been noted to have the mindset of a 16 or 17 year old.

Information: Inuyasha is of course who the series is named for. Inuyasha is a relunctant hero to say the least.
Inuyasha was born a hanyou (term for half-demon). He's half-demon and the other half of him is human, his father having been a dog-demon, and his mother a human. Since his father was a dog-demon, many of Inuyasha's looks, abilities, and attitudes are doglike.
Since Inuyasha is a hanyou he doesn't fit in with youkai (term for demon used in the story) or humans, both groups having outcasted him.
Surprisingly, even though this situation has made Inuyasha somewhat bitter and mistrustful of people, but he really does have a good heart, even if he himself doesn't see it.
Most youkai have no respect for humans (or for hanyous either) while he does. Still, he does want the Shikon Jewel to turn himself into a full-demon, having dubbed his human half as his weakness. However, as of lately, he doesn't seem to desire the jewel for his own power, having seen all the evil it causes, and never any good.
Inuyasha always tries to come off as being cold and an insensitive person, but it really isn't part of his personality. He is thought of not being very smart, but he really is very intelligent, its just that he's too headstrong and unsure about his feelings that makes him hesitate and seem not too bright. When it comes to issues of the heart, he's usually the last to catch on, but that just makes him cute! ^_^
In his own endering way, he's an admirable and wonderful person, but somehow he's almost always sounds rude when he's being caring. He's rude, tends to have a bad temper, and a little arrogant (even though his abilities do give him a little reason to be arrogant), but he is also reasonably confident about his own abilities. His temperment probably has to do with him probably having an inferiority complex from being a hanyou, but he doesn't let it show often.
He really is a caring person, who usually dislikes killing, especially killing humans(unless its to save someone else, and even then he doesn't care for it, even though he does show off), though he wouldn't let anyone know ever if he can help it. And there is one thing he can't stand; when girls, and especially Kagome, cries! It makes him feel really, really, bad, and he'll often scream at Kagome to quit crying, since he can't stand it.
