Well petals, before we address the issue of Gaterron, I really must answer the burning question... "What IS Gaterron?" I'm sure most of you know by now, but for those who don't or are new to the pairing, allow me to explain. The term 'Gaterron' is made by butchering Gateau's and Marron's names and slapping the pieces together (g-a-t-e are the first four letters of Gateau's name and r-r-o-n are the last four letters of Marron's). Thus, 'Gaterron' is not only a term, but a metaphor for their... togetherness ^_^ "Gateau and Marron? Together? That's SICK!" No. It's really not. Actually, it's WELL! ::snick:: "Wait, YOU'RE what's sick, Fala! You're a twisted freak and you suck!" True enough, but stay on topic, please. "Homosexuality is naughty! It goes against God's wishes! YOU WILL BURN IN HELL!" Bite my British Heathen Arse. ... and his manservant guardian

CANON FACTOR: Is this pairing official? Sort of. Kind of. Not really -_- More so in the manga than anywhere else. In the manga, Gateau is a bisexual horndog, smitten with something very beautiful and very virginal, i.e. Marron. Actually, he's drawn to just about anyone beautiful, but his feelings for Marron seem especially distinctive. Marron seems somewhat indifferent to his advances, and thus far has not responded with anything but his infamous catch prase, "..." and a sweatdrop. Thus, it seems logical to say that Gaterron is at least 50% official.

WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL/APPEAL?: Hey, I made a rhyme. Yeah, go me! Heh heh... Anyhoo... Yeah. Why is the idea of Gateau/Marron as a couple so bloody great?

>> 'Tis cute. I, along with many others, find the idea of a big strong guy like Gateau being all lovey on a pint-sized partner too adorable for words.
>> Opposites attract. Gateau and Marron are so different, they would make a most unique and exciting pair. Unity in Diversity, as I say.
>> Even if Marron doesn't like Gateau in the way that Gateau wants him to (yet), they are still very close friends and they BOTH care deeply for each other.
>> They could both learn a lot from each other. Being with the shy, inverted little Glace boy would teach Gateau patience and social grace. Being with Gateau would help Marron salvage his hidden personality and learn to express his feelings more (and not be afraid of them).
>> You never know. I'm on manga volume ten, and throughout all that I have read, their friendship is progressing slowly but surely into what will hopefully be a romance for the both of them. From what I've heard, lot happens in the thirteenth and final volume. We'll have to wait and see ^_-
