The Story starts out explaning what happened 1000 years ago.The war of the Magi totaly destroyed the earth and now 1000 years later the earth reborned itself and technology was brought back.A girl named ???? and two men(wedge and vicks) in armor(magitec armor)come to the town of narshe.They plan to take the esper that resides there in a cave.The girl of course is terra but we'll get into that later.The town of narshe tries its best to stop wedge,????,and vicks but it is not enought.The three find the esper and then the esper makes wedge and vicks disappear leaving only ???? there.
???? then wakes up in a house (in narshe)where a man explains to her that she has amnesia and that the empire(the group that vicks and wedge work for)brain washed her with a slave crown.Then ???? remember's her name(you name her there but her name is originaly terra).
Quick summary of the empire.

is ruled by emporer Gustal who is bent on taking over the espers See Espers for information on Espers
He wants them to revive the war of magi so he can take over the earth.The only group opposing him is the returners(we'll get on that later).He needs terra since she is incredibly powerful.
Now back to the story
The guy
that helps out terra is gretted by locke
the theif(he calls himself a treasure hunter).Locke tells him that the empire is about to break into narshe and capture terra again.
Then locke and terra go outside the backdoor and try to escape from narshe throught the caves.The empire spots them when they cross a bridge to enter the caves and locke and terra.They continue and then terra passes out or something(I forgot Sorry)and locke is surronded by guards he steps back and falls into a hole.
When he gets to another floor of the cave the guards are coming out of the bottom and there about to close him in.Then the moogles come into play.
About Moogles
Moggles are little white angel things who are white look like dogs and have wings.There pretty cute and they help locke+terra out.
Can we just go on again?
So the moogles help out locke and they battle with the empire troops.They win and then locke carries terra out a secret entrace in one of the caves(this will come in play again later on in the game).Terra is saying things like"you saved me" and "what just happened" and other stuff that danzels in distress would.
Locke and terra then travel to the Figaro,where they meet locke's friend(who just happens to be the king of figaro)King Edgar.Kefka who is to gay to have his own section(basically he's the evil annoying guy of this story)goes to figaro and confronts king edgar
about the missing girl who he thinks is in figaro(which if you have'nt figured out already is Terra)
Edgar says he does'nt know about any girl and that there are tons of girls in his castle.Kefka (being an ass)says "you'd better not be lying or you would'nt want anything to happen to your precious Fiagaro".
When Edgar wakes up the next morning the castle is on fire and everyone is going crazy.Kefka then yells to Edgar to give him terra.Edgar then says "well i guess I have no choice" then he says "well maybe I do"and he hops on toa bird calles the choocbo(Somewhere around that name) and locke and terra jump on it again.
Kefka then says"How delightful a king leaving his own people"
Edgar gets the last laugh thoguht because then Figaro goes underground which was the plan all the time.
Edgar,terra,and locke then head for South Figaro where they hope to meet Sabin(Edgar's
