Windows Tip: End Windows Folder Warning

Dispense with the Windows warning with this tip.

If you've ever tried to open the Windows folder, you know there's a warning that tells you to beware of making changes.

Assuming you know that you shouldn't go wildly deleting files, it can be annoying if you open the Windows folder regularly.

Windows 98
Here's how to shut off the warning in Windows 98.

Open Windows Explorer. Do this by pressing the Windows button + E or go into the Start menu, then Programs, and select Windows Explorer.
Open the drive where Windows is installed. More than likely this will be the C: drive.
Open the Windows folder.
Select View.
Select Customize This Folder.
Select Remove Customization.
Click Next, and click Next again.
Click Finished when you're done.
You can also shut this off in Windows 98 by clicking on View, and selecting View as Webpage.

Windows Me
To shut this off in Windows Me, enable the "View as Webpage" function.
Select Tools, then Folder Options.
Click enable Web Contents in Windows.
The most recent setting is remembered each time you open the Windows folder. For example, if the last folder was viewed as a webpage, the next folder opened will be viewed as a webpage.
