Windows Tip: Quick Desktop Close

Here's a neat shortcut you'll find handy,

Most of you know that you can close the active window with the key strokes ALT + F4. But don't forget the desktop is also a window.

Use this shortcut to quickly shut down Windows:

Click any open space on the desktop, and make sure no icons are selected.
Press ALT + F4.
Release both.
When the shutdown dialog box pops up, press enter.

The option that was selected the last time you shut down should already be selected. Simply confirm you are not rebooting again. Thanks to Dennis from Playa del Rey, California, for this great tip.
