Ok, Kid Kai now has to go home, but is leaving behind his first and greatest love. Depressing, neh? BEWARE: Major mushiness in the beginning, so if you are too immature for this, I advise that you DON'T read it. Hm. The fics seem to be getting longer and my narrator crap shorter. Has anyone else noticed this?? <_< >_>
No, it's just you. :)
Oh, shuddap. :(
*****
"What? Are...are you sure?"
Goku nodded a sad tone to his voice. "Yeah, my time is up. But I did manage to persuade Buu into not destroying West City. Now we just have to wait for Trunks to come back with the dragon radar."
"Oh.I see." I glanced at Lily and could see she was very upset. I couldn't stand to see her like that and walked back inside when."What?" I turned back to the platform. Something told me that...that Babidi was dead? Buu killed him?
"Kid Kai? What's wrong?"
"It's Buu, he's killed Babidi."
"What? Are you sure?"
I nodded grimly. "Yes, I can feel it. I should have known. They didn't seem to like each other's company much..."
"Buu has no one ordering around anymore." Piccolo mused. "He can do a lot more damage now."
"Yeah." I decided to head inside. I sat down and leaned against the pillar as everyone else waited for Trunks to return, I contemplated on what I should do. I mean, I couldn't just leave Lily and the Z Senshi with Buu while I was all safe and snug on Kaioshin-kai. It didn't seem fair.
But if I didn't go, I'd just get in the way, probably killed. And that wouldn't be helpful either.
"Master?"
I looked up and saw Fiddlesticks. "Oh, hi Fiddlesticks. Anything wrong?"
She sat down next to me, bringing her knees up to her chin. "I believe I should be asking you that, sir." She put a hand on my shoulder. "What are you thinking about? You seemed troubled."
So I told her how I felt. I could feel a relationship growing, like the one that Dad had with Kibito or Gato. Dai Kaio certainly knew how to match Kaioshins up with their bodyguards.
".so I'm really confused. What should I do?"
"It's really up to you, master." She played with the strands of hair of one her braids. "But if you really want my opinion, I think you should go to Kaioshin-kai. If you were to die here, there would be no Kaioshins left. You are undoubtedly needed in Heaven."
I sighed. "Yeah, you're right." I gazed over at Goku and the others, all saying their goodbyes to the Saiyan. "I'll go when Goku leaves, but will you stay here?"
"Why?"
"I want someone to watch over Lily. I'm so worried about her."
The fire-witch stared at me for a moment. "You love her, don't you?"
"…"
"I thought so. You two really are a good pair, if not an odd one. I don't think I should stay here, Lily seems to be able to take care of herself."
"You think so? Thanks."
"Oh, Kid, sir? I was wondering..."
"What?"
She hopped up and spread her arms out. "If I'm going to go to Kaioshin-kai and be your bodyguard, do you think I should wear the clothes!? It's been bugging me since I got here!!"
I chuckled. "Well, I guess so. What are your favorite colors?"
"Uh, green, white, and black."
"Sure." I pointed my finger at her. *sounds bad. >D* and a Kaioshin outfit appeared on her. The vest was a deep emerald green with the collar missing *think Kibito* and black trim. The sleeves and pants were white, the boots green like the vest, and her sash was long and orange *again, Kibito style rides again*. I stood up and brushed the dust off of my pants and Fiddlesticks followed suit. We strolled over to the group that had formed around Goku. Chi-chi was sobbing her head off and Goten looked like he was going to bawl.
Lily walked up to me and snared my hand, turning me around to face her. "I'm going to miss you." She muttered just so I could hear her.
"I know. I want you by my side." I whispered back.
"Come back, and stay."
"I'll think about you every hour."
"I need you so much."
"I want you too." I embraced her tightly. I still couldn't believe I had found her and had to leave her already. I might as well have torn my heart and soul from my chest and go to Kaioshin-kai without them; maybe it would be less painful. I noticed that now people were looking at us. But you know what?
I-didn't-care-one-bit. If they didn't like the way I felt about Lily, well.that was their problem!!
I pulled Lily closer and kissed her, fiercely and gentle-like, and I could hear the others' quiet gasps. I almost laughed when I heard Dende talking to Fiddlesticks:
"Are they allowed to do that?"
We just stood there for a few moments, feeling everyone else watching us. I didn't want this moment to end. Her hair, still flowing freely, fluttered about my legs. She wrapped her arms around my chest, bringing me closer to herself. I could feel her eyelashes on my own face, soft as dove feathers. This couldn't be real, could it? If I was never able to see her again, how would I get over it? Maybe when my poor heart beat its last. Then I'd be with her again.
No, it had to be a dream, or a nightmare. Soon, she'd wake me and tell me I was dreaming...I'd just have to wait till then...
I pulled back and looked at the Z Senshi, who, might I add, were all gawking. Lily let go of me, optioning to just hold my hand. "Well.I guess you know." I said.
Goten and Trunks said together, "GROSS!"
"You just keep thinking that, kiddos." Piccolo mumbled.
Goku laughed. "I thought you two HATED each other! You were at each other's throats earlier."
Lily spoke up. "Yeah, well, that was before. I…I really like Kid."
"Okay."
"Huh?" That was my reaction, of course. "You're not upset, nothing?"
Krillen shrugged and smiled. "If you guys like each other, that's fine with me."
I was about to say something, but then the witch Baba appeared. "Goku, time to go." She croaked. "You too, master Kaioshin."
"Yes, I know." I turned back to Lily, trying to hold back my tears. "I have to go, but I will be back, I give you my word. Take care of yourself."
"I will, but it'll be hard for me to do, when I can't have you here to hold me, when I want nobody else. Here, I have something for you." She scrounged around in her pockets and dug out her harmonica. She put it in the palm of my hand and folded them together. "I want you to keep it, no if, ands, or buts. Don't argue with me."
I smiled. I knew it was hard for her to give it to me. "Alright." I put the instrument in the safety of my pocket. "Then you have to take this." I put my hand behind my back, and then made a small bag of seeds and soil appear. Putting them in her own hands, I said, "It's seeds of a flower that grows on Kaioshin-kai. It only grows there, and it's quite beautiful. There's dirt inside too, to help it grow. They are very tough, they'll live through anything."
"Oh, thank you Kid." She gave me another kiss on the cheek. "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine."
"I know. I love you." I slowly let her hand go, already missing the touch of her skin on my own. "Goodbye." I walked over to where Goku and Fiddlesticks stood. "Ready, master?"
Turning back to Lily, I smiled sadly, realizing this could possibly be the very final time I'd ever see her. "Yeah. Let's go." With that, we disappeared, reappearing before the Emma Daio's check in station. Baba left us and floated off.
We went inside to visit Emma Daio. He was.a little surprised to see me. Surprise being the understatement of the millennia.
"D-DAI KAIOSHIN!?"
"Who? Oh, me. Hello Emma Daio, and please call me Kid."
"Yes sir! May I.may I shake your hand, Kid?"
"Uh, okay." I floated up to the desk and Emma Daio grasped my whole arm in his fingers. I knew he was trying to be gentle, but he shook me rather hard, flinging me like a toy. "Oh, thank you sir. So, what can I do for you and Goku?"
"Well, Goku wants to know if his son Gohan has come through here yet."
"Gohan? Let's see, G, Gohan." Emma Daio flipped through the book, all the while muttering to his self.
"No, Gohan hasn't come through here yet." He announced after a few minutes. "Gohan must still be alive."
Goku just couldn't hold in his happiness, it would seem. "YEAH! WHOO HOO! HE'S STILL ALIVE, YAY!!"
"Geez, settle Goku!" I looked back up at Emma Daio and said, "Could you see if my dad or my bodyguards are alive?"
"Oh, I'm afraid I can't sir. They don't come through here, they simply go the Heaven. Gomen."
I sighed. "Oh, it's alright."
Goku, Fiddlesticks, and I flew outside and Goku zipped around everywhere, practically cheering his head off. "GOHAN'S ALIVE, YIPPEE!!"
"Knock it off Goku. How can he be alive? His ki isn't on Earth anymore."
"Well, he must be up here." Mused Fiddlesticks. "Should we look for his ki?"
"Sure, why not?" The 3 of us searched for Gohan's ki and I found it first. "Kaioshin-kai? No way."
Goku looked at odd. "What do you mean Kaioshin-kai?"
"Gohan, I feel his ki on Kaioshin-kai.but how'd he get there?"
"I dunno, let's go!"
Before either of us could protest, Fiddlesticks and I were grabbed by Goku and he teleported us to Kaioshin-kai. Suddenly.
WHAM!
"Aaah!" A sword had hit me in the face!! I fell over in surprise and shock, covering my face to protect it from whatever was attacking--
"K-Kid Kai?!" Gohan's voice sounded surprised. "Are you alright!?"
I sat up to see the young Saiyan leaning over me. "Oh, Gohan. Yeah, I'm fine, I think."
Gohan held up his fist and said, "How many fingers do ya see?"
"Ha ha, very funny. What are you doing here? Hey, that's the Z Sword!!"
Gohan stood up and said, "Well, your dad, Kibito, and Gato brought me here and I pulled it out."
"Huh?" I looked over, and sure enough, there stood my family! "Dad, Gato, Kibito!!" I ran towards them, with Fiddlesticks on my heels.
"Kid Kai!" Gato yelled out, waving at me, but she stopped once she saw Fiddlesticks. "KID KAI, I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU REPLACED ME!" Suddenly the changeling started to cry.
"Gato, I didn't replace you.well, I kinda did, but--"
This only caused her to wail louder. Kibito and Dad covered up their sensitive ears while glaring at me. "Gato!" Kibito yelled out. "He didn't replace you!"
Gato pointed and pointed an accusing finger at Fiddlesticks. "Then who's SHE!?"
I sighed, then inhaled. "Everyone thinks you and Dad and Kibito and Gohan are dead, so they want me to be Dai Kaioshin and rule the universe, protect the Kais, etc. Buu trashed me to the point where I was pretty much almost dead, so Dai Kaio sent me Fiddlesticks to heal me and what-not. Now you guys aren't dead, so I don't have to be Dai Kaioshin, Fiddlesticks isn't REPLACING YOU!" When I finished, I sat down and gasped for breath. "Sometimes I wish I had taken Speech."
Gato had stopped crying. "Oh, alright then." Hopping up, she walked over to Fiddlesticks and shook her hand. "Hello, I'm Gato! I suppose Kid told you all about me?"
"Uh, yeah." Fiddlesticks replied nervously; I hadn't said a single thing about her. "You might as well be family. Heh heh."
My father just shook his head and helped me up. "I'm glad you're safe- " Then he saw my hair. "Kid. What. Did. You. Do. To. Your. HAIR?"
I shrugged. "How should I know, it just grew!"
"And what are you wearing?" He started to make some different clothes appear, but I shouted out, "NO!"
"Huh? Why?"
"I LIKE these clothes, they're comfy!"
"Oh, alright. I guess I should just be glad you're alright, Kid." He enveloped me in a tight hug. "I'm sorry I just left you, but it was very important we got Gohan here. Can you forgive me?"
"Yeah, yeah, but where's the food!? I'm hungry!"
Goku yelled out, "Me too! Can we eat now?!"
Dad rose up into the air. "Alright, I suppose we could get something. Follow me."
So the 7 of us flew over to the palace. Goku and Fiddlesticks just couldn't contain their astonishment at the size of my home.
"WOW."
"Took the words outta my mouth, Goku. Dai Kaio's palace isn't half as big as this place is!!"
Kibito scoffed. "Dai Kaio's palace could fit in the kitchen. Be careful, you might get lost."
Running inside, I said, "Speaking of kitchen, I'm famished!! LET'S EAT ALREADY!!" I raced to the kitchen at top speed, finally arriving in the restaurant sized room. "Booyah." I said quietly to myself. Seizing a few rice balls from the cabinet, I eagerly began to feast.
"Kid!" Dad seemed quite appalled at the fact of how I was eating. "Use a fork, at least!"
"Look. I've been kidnapped, beaten, drugged, bruised, near death, had broken bones, and deserted all in one day. As far as I'm concerned, the world can kiss my butt till I eat." Then I savagely attacked my rice ball with lust. Goku and Gohan sauntered over and said, "Any sushi here?"
"Yeah, upper lower cabinet. Have fun."
"Thanks!!"
So we ate.and ate.and ate for a few hours. It certainly takes a while to fill up 2 Saiyans and a growing god!!
When we finished, I was certain I heard Fiddlesticks mutter to Gato, "Remind me never to take those 3 out to dinner. Or anything concerning food."
"Amen to that."
*****
As soon as Goku had finished, we settled back in front of the palace, watching Gohan train with the Z Sword. Or, more accurately, Dad, Kibito, and Goku watched him. I was lounging on the steps while Gato and Fiddlesticks traded healing techniques.
"He's good." I commented.
Dad nodded. "Yes, he is. Soon, he will be strong enough to defeat Majin Buu."
"I hope you're right."
"I'm sure I am." He smiled at me. "You need to have a little faith, Kid."
I smirked. "Yeah, whatever." I could feel sleep bringing my eyes together. "I sure am...tired." I said to no one in particular. Everything faded into darkness as I passed into a state of sleep....
*****
Space. Or at least it would have been if there had been stars. Once again, I was floating in some way-too-dark void of my mind.
"Okay, Mitsuro? Kumiko? Is anyone there?" I might as well have been in a tomb, it was so quiet. "Come on out guys, this isn't funny anymore!"
Suddenly, a small, pink, rope-like thingie stretched out from the darkness in front of me. "Mitsuro? Kumiko?" I reached for it, but it pulled back into the void. "Huh? Hey, come back here!"
I followed it for a while. Just when I was about to give up, it stopped. The scenery, if any at all, suddenly just disappeared, leaving only a white landscape in front, back, sideways, up, down...everything was just white save that pink thing. A heavy mist hung in the air, giving where- ever-I-was a mystic look. "Oooooookay, I'm officially creeped out now! Knock it off, guys!"
But nobody even answered me, just that eerie silence. Suddenly, a figure's outline showed up in the mist. The pink thing seemed to be attached to it.
"Huh? Hey, you!" I started to run out to it, but the pink rope stopped me, pushing against my chest. "Hey!" I grabbed a hold of it and pulled. Just then, the figure in the mist began to laugh, a cruel and harsh sound. It sent shivers up my spine, it sounded so familiar.
"So..." It breathed. "Now I can finally finish..."
The rope suddenly wrapped around my body, pinning my arms to my sides.
"…What I started."
The mist separated, but I still couldn't see the person. The rope lifted me into the air, squeezing the air out of my lungs. I gasped for air as I struggled against it, but it just tightened. I finally gave up, exhausted and running out of oxygen. I looked down at the man who held me captive...it was a Kaioshin! The pink bonds were actually coming out of his left arm, which was outstretched towards me. Like mine, his hair was white and exceptionally lengthy. His skin was a light pink, like bubble gum *A/N: Can YOU think of anything else to compare pink with?! >>*. He was small, almost a child's size. His eyes were onyx with blood-red pupils; it felt like they pierced my very flesh and blood to gaze upon my soul. He wore a Kaioshin's clothing just like Dad's, but it was black, white, and yellow instead of blue, aqua green and red trim.
He began to rise into the air, muttering to himself, "Now I can finish my revenge...my revenge...my REVENGE!!" When he was at the same level as me, only a few hundred meters away, he began to rush at me, screeching his head off. "REVENGE!!"
Just when he was about to about to rip me apart--
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!"
*****
I sat upright, bug-eyed and yelling, "WHAT!? WHAT!?" When I looked at the others, I about died laughing. Dad, Kibito, and Gato had their jaws dropped, eyes as big as dinner plates, and looked like they were about to sob. Then I saw what they were so upset about. "Oh CRAP."
The Z Sword. It was broken. Farther off, a huge metal cube of Katchin lay buried in the dirt. Gohan just stood there with an 'I didn't do it!' look on his face. "I guess now it's the Z Dagger!" *A/N: Wasn't my quote, I swear!! ^^;*
Goku laughed nervously. "I guess they call it the 'hardest metal in the universe for a reason, huh?"
Fiddlesticks' left eyebrow twitched. "Yeah, guess so."
Gohan dropped the hilt of what used to be the Z Sword. Then he smiled. "Hey think about it guys! The training with the Z Sword has made me much stronger and faster too!" He tossed a few quick punches to prove it. "See! Maybe what the legend means is that the person who is able to HANDLE the Z Sword will gain the greatest power in the universe! Hey, what do ya think?"
Dad suddenly cheered up. "Yes! That must be it! Gohan doesn't need the sword, he's already gained the power!"
I folded my arms, a skeptical expression on my face. "But will be enough to beat Buu? I'm not so sure."
Dad held up a fist. "What are you saying Kid, that we don't have a chance?"
"QUIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEET!!"
Kibito, Dad, and Gato all freaked out; their hair stood on end and everything. Once they had settled down, we all looked behind them.
It was an old man. A VERY old man, from the looks of it. He had the appearance of a Kaioshin, but how could that be?
"Heh heh." He snickered. "That's better!"
Dad twisted all the way around. "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
"Don't ya get it, sonny? Check out the hair, and the earrings. I'm a Kaioshin, from 15 generations ago! Rou no Kaioshin to be precise."
Again, Dad and the two bodyguards flipped out. "15 generations ago!?"
"What? There are 2 Higashis!?"
While they freaked out, Goku leaned over me. "What does he mean 15 generations ago? I thought you gods were immortal, as in 'living forever' kind of thing?"
I held out my hands. "Well, we aren't really immortal; we just live longer than anyone else. A Kaioshin like Dad can live for about a billion years, if he's lucky. But we do age; once we get really old or want to retire, we take on apprentices to replace us. Then the elder Kaioshin gives up their immortality and either passes on or, if he's really strong or younger than most, retires and lives out a normal life on Dai Kaio's planet with the other Kaios. That's how it works."
"Oh...I see."
Dad was still in shock. "How...how are you still alive!?"
"Yes. Well now! You see, a long time ago, I was sealed away by an evil villain, who--"
"What kind of villain?" I interrupted.
Rou scowled at me and said, with a touch of grouchiness in his voice, "I...don't want to talk about it. As I was saying, before I was so rudely interrupted--" He threw a nasty glance at me, "-- I was sealed away in the Z Sword hundreds of thousands of years ago by this villain. He was afraid I would use my awesome powers to stop him and his dastardly deeds. So he seized me away in that sword, from whence I came."
Dad still looked a little confused, and he was most certainly not alone. "So you've been in the Z Sword the whole time?"
"Sure have!" The old coot began to stretch out his back, popping vertebra bones. "Now I've got a cramp! Oh!"
I folded my arms, a sour look on my face. "I don't think this guy looks as strong as he says he is." I glanced at Gohan and Goku. "What do ya think?"
Goku shrugged, grinning lopsidedly. "Not really."
I peeked back at the aged fart. Then a scheme popped into my head. "Hey! What do ya say we put this guy to the test?"
Fiddlesticks looked a bit shocked. "I don't know-"
"Shh!" I cut him off. "Watch!" Forming a tiny ki ball in the palm of my hand, I sent it airborne, streaking right between Dad and Kibito and it hit the elder right smack in the face. Oh CRUD. "I-I killed him! Man, am I in trouble!!"
"EEE!" Rou fell over on his back, smoke still billowing on his face. Dad, Gato, and Kibito rushed over to his aid, while the rest of us just stared in alarm.
"Sir! Sir, are you alright!?" Dad and the servants questioned fretfully. Rou cracked open his eyes slowly, scratches and scraps all over his pruny face. Suddenly, he leaped up, ran over to me, and cuffed me on the noggin. "Asshole!! How dare you fire at an old man like me!"
Sore tears in my eyes, I said quietly. "Gomen! Whatever happened to those 'awesome powers' of yours, huh!?"
Another whack on the head. "Fool! I wasn't talking about my physical might! It was my mental capacities he was so afraid of!!"
Goku glanced at Gohan. "Mental capacities?" Looking back at Rou, he asked, "Whatcha mean?"
Rou turned his back to all of us. "I'm not telling. Nope!" He then blew a raspberry at us. I had to really bite my tongue to not do the same back at him.
Goku rubbed his chin, deep in though. *A/N: Did it hurt? >D* "I know!" He leaned over to Rou and said, "My old master has loads of swimsuit magazines, we'll get ya some!"
Gohan, Fiddlesticks, and I did a complete facefault. Gohan's normally stable voice was shaky as he said, "Dad! I don't think..."
Dad was equally dismayed. "Goku! How inappropriate!"
Rou just scoffed. "I have need for such things." Shading his now enormous eyes, he said, "With my godly vision, I can see girls playing volleyball!"
This time, it was Dad, Kibito, and Gato's turn to facefault. Dad instantly got back up and growled, "And you call yourself a Kaioshin!?"
But Goku paid no heed. "Hey, old man! What if we got you a date with an Earth girl?"
Now Rou seemed to be interested. "Is she a good kisser?"
"Yeah, of course!'
Rou chuckled to himself, apparently dreaming of his date. I started to have a very bad feeling about where this was going... Suddenly, he turned to Gato and Fiddlesticks. "How about you two? How about a date cuties?"
"NO," was the unanimous answer from them.
"Aw, crud." Rou tried again. "Ya sure?"
"Yes." Fiddlesticks bent down and poked Rou in the nose. "Touch me, and prepare to barbecue, 'sir'."
Meanwhile, Gohan and I reached up and tapped Goku on the shoulders. "Dad? Who in the world are you gonna get to kiss THAT guy!?"
Goku smiled back at us. "Don't worry!" Putting a hand on each of our shoulders, he brought us a little closer. "But it'll take a little sacrifice." Pulled us closer. "Can ya get Videl or Lily to do it?"
"NOOO!!" I hopped up on Goku's chest, grasping at his shirt. "You don't let that ancient pervert a mile from my Lily!! Got it!? I'll beat you into the dirt if ya do!!"
Gohan was just as furious. "My girlfriend isn't kissing that old fart!!"
"Okay! Okay! Yeesh!" Goku turned away from us, again thinking. "Who else do we know..." He suddenly smacked a fist into his palm. "Of course!" Running over to Rou, he said, "Okay, I have someone in mind, but she's not exactly a spring chicken."
"Feh!" Rou said. "Doesn't matter, as long as she's a good kisser!"
Running back to us, Goku said anxiously, "Hey, what about Bulma? She'd do it; do ya think she's a good kisser?"
"Ack!" I was trying not to screech. "You honestly think WE'D know!?"
"Yeah!" Gohan agreed. "We're having no part of this, I say!"
Ignoring our comments, Goku looked back over to my ancestor. "So, do we have a deal?"
"Hm...Sure!"
Looking back at us, Goku said excitedly, "Bulma's got to do it! It's to save the world, guys!"
I sighed heavily, a touch of desperation in my voice. "Alright. But I'm not gonna be the one to tell her, got it?"
Goku rushed over to Rou and held out his hands. "Well?"
Rou clapped his hands on top of the Saiyan's. "Sure thing! Man, you're good."
"So, what are these capacities of yours?"
My old ancestor straightened up, coughed once, and then walked off a few feet. Everyone crowded in to see what he was going to do. "How should I say this? Oh yes, I'll put it in Lament's terms. If I use my powers on a kitty cat, it'll turn into a lion! So you see, I awaken sleeping powers!"
Dad, Gato, and Kibito were astonished, gasping with surprise...but Fiddlesticks just scratched her head. "Oh really? That's actually quite a common ability these days."
Rou darted over and yelled at the fire-witch, "You fool! I can enhance anyone far past their limits! The bird becomes an eagle, get it!?"
"Uh, yeah! It's just a little hard to believe, that's all!"
"Young people!" Rou looked out from in front of Fiddlesticks at Gohan and I. "You two there. How would you like your sleeping powers awakened?"
"Who? Us?"
"Yeah, you two!" He snapped irritably. Pointing to a small hill, he said, "Go stand over there."
I looked up at Gohan, and shrugged. We both walked over, with me standing in front of Gohan. I have to admit I was nervous; what was the old guy gonna do? I looked up, and sensed that the young Saiyan felt the same. Well, at least I wasn't the only one.
"Now...stand very still."
"Right!" Gohan and I straightened up immediately.
"Okay..." He closed his eyes for a few seconds...then suddenly yelled out, "Wake up, you no good stinking powers! Hm!"
And what he did next...is forever burned into my brain.
~Soooooo, what did he do? You'll have to find out, in KKGA 5!!
