Kid Kai's Grand Adventure, part 2

Part 2: Revenge and love

By: Siona

Note: For anyone who doesn’t or has not read “Atarashii’s kooky love” *doom on you*, I am no longer using the alias Nishi Kaioshin. I am using my REAL name now, Siona. Okay? Good. Again, this part starts with a mysterious dream...

*****

No, not another one. It seemed every time I had a dream, it came to life and they were all bad.

I was standing in the middle of a field, flowers scattered here and there. On the edges of the meadow was a forest. The trees were tall and foreboding, casting shadows like daggers.

Suddenly, three shadows darted across the fields towards the woods so fast all I could see were differently colored blurs.

“Hey, hey you! Wait up!” I ran after them as fast as my legs could carry me, but for some reason my right leg did not work. I ran deep into the forest, stumbling on rocks and broken tree limbs. “Wait! I said wait!” However, they ran on, starting to fade out of sight.

I stopped by a small pond with a rock in the center to catch my breath. I looked up and gasped. There, on top of the rock pillar, were three people. Their ears were pointed, so I guessed they were Kais.

The tallest was a man, lavender in skin with flowing white hair. His clothes were similar to mine, but he wore a sword case with a blade inside it that seemed remotely familiar.

Next to him was a woman with deep purple hair, light peach skin, and a long violet dress to her bare feet.

The last was a young girl with blue hair. Her skin was like mine and her clothes elegant, shining with gold and silver.

They all seemed familiar, like old friends I hadn’t seen in a very long time, but I had known no other Kai besides my father and Kibito.

Then, all three looked down at the water, staring at something. I looked down and gasped. It was not my reflection staring back at me, it was some other person! I looked closer, kneeling on the bank. The reflection did not move. It was a young boy, about my age, but his hair was incredibly long. He had an odd outfit. It was kinda like my clothes, but it had four medallions with small blue clothes attached. His shirt and pants were blue; the sleeves poofy like my dad’s. His sash was long like Kibito’s, colored yellow. His boots were also this color. From the boy’s shoulders were wings, white as snow.

But it was what rested in his hand that intrigued me. A tall staff, longer than its holder. Most of it was brown, but on one end was a small blue orb. The other held a large, gold ring the size of my head. On this ring were four smaller rings. In the center was a diamond I could see straight through like glass.

“Mitsuro.”

“Huh?” I looked up. The trio was looking at me with an odd look. “Mitsuro.” The man repeated.

I shook my head. “No, I’m Kid Kai, son of Higashi no Kaioshin and Nishi no Kaioshin. Who are you?” They did not answer me. They just stood there staring at me.

Suddenly, the purple-haired woman appeared in front of me. “Mitsuro, my son.” She held me close, and, for some reason, I did not struggle. Her touch was warm and familiar. I could hear faint singing in the distance. My eyes threatened to close in pleasure.

“Mitsuro.” The women spoke to me again. I looked up at her. “Mitsuro, you must live my son.” The woman instructed me. “You must live to see me, your mother, Aina, again and protect this world from evil. Mitsuro, my first and only son, you must live...”

Her voice and image began to fade like mist and I felt nothing but air. The others and the landscape too began to disappear. “Wait, who’s Mitsuro? Wait!”

However, they did not come back, leaving me with the echo of that one word.

“Mitsuro...”

*****

“Kid. Kid, wake up! If you’re dead, I’ll kill you!”

My eyes fluttered open to the voice of Lily. My body felt like it was on fire. “L-Lily?”

She nodded. “Yeah, it’s me. Glad you’re okay.” She held out her hand and helped me stand up. “Yeow!” I cried as my right leg gave beneath me.

Lily sank to the ground beneath me. “Oh, Kid! Are you okay?”

I felt my leg and found the broken bones. Tearing my pant leg, it wasn’t a pretty sight to behold. The bone was actually sticking out of the skin and there seemed to be a blood clot.

Lily gasped and ran off. I could hear her retching behind the rocks. She came back as soon as she got a hold of herself. “Sorry, it’s not every day I see someone’s bones.”

I looked her over and saw she was in pretty bad shape as well, bleeding in several places and innumerable scratches and bruises. Her clothes were ripped and her arm was in a sling made from a pant leg. I took a look at myself. Ugh. I was in even worse shape. Not only was my leg broken, but also my vest was in shreds, the soles of my boots ripped, and I had cuts off the kazoo.

I decided I should help Lily first. “Lily, come here. I can help.” She walked over and kneeled by me. “Close your eyes. I won’t hurt, I promise.” She seemed nervous, but she did as I told. I put my hands on her shoulders and concentrated on Kibito’s healing tips. Lily’s body glowed with an eerie gold color, her wounds slowly disappeared, and her clothes mended. “Okay, all done!”

Lily opened her eyes and gasped. “Wow! I didn’t know you could heal!”

I smiled, and then winced, for even this small action was painful. “Kibito gave me lessons for a few thousand years. I guess it paid off, neh?”

Lily nodded, but then she seemed worried. “Can you heal yourself?”

I shook my head. “I can’t, I never learned how.”

Lily sighed and put her hands in her pockets. Suddenly, she pulled something out; it looked like a bean of some sort. “Ah! Here Kid, eat this! It’s a Senzu bean, it’ll heal ya!”

I took the bean from her and chewed on it. It had no taste really, but as soon as I swallowed it, I could feel all the pain go away. There was a sharp crack as the bones in my leg repaired themselves. My clothes looked brand new too.

“Wow! Cool, Lily!” Then I realized something was wrong. “Where…is everyone?”

Lily and I stood up and gasped. There was a humongous crater in what used to be Babidi’s spaceship! “Oh no!” I screamed. I ran down the side of the cliff yelling, “Dad! Gohan! DAD!”

Lily followed me and stopped me from running any farther. “Kid, calm down! We’ll find them! Look for their ki’s.”

I grabbed ahold of myself and expanded my mind’s eye. “Lily! I can feel them! Dad and Gohan are alive, but their ki’s are very faint! We should go look for them immediately!”

Lily nodded and we took to the air and sped off as fast as possible.

*****

We had flown little over an hour before I realized something. “Lily, we need to land and walk the rest of the way.”

Lily looked at me with an odd expression. “Why?”

“I can feel Buu and Babidi’s presence some way off. If they see us, we’re goners.”

“Okay.” As we flew down, something happened to my father’s ki. It totally disappeared, along with Gohan’s! I stopped in mid-air, frozen with shock. Lily landed and looked up at me. “Kid! What’s the matter?”

I did not answer. No…no, Dad couldn’t be dead! He just couldn’t! Tears came to my eyes as the truth hit me; Dad was gone. And I wasn’t there to help him. It was all my fault…

“Kid!” Lily yelled at me. “Are you waiting for Buu to come and kick your sorry purple butt? Come down!”

I shook my head, tears flew in many directions. I couldn’t tell Lily, no way. She couldn’t know. “Oh, sorry! Thought I…saw something!” I yelled back down. “Yeah.”

I flew down and landed. Lily looked again at me with that weird look, as if she didn’t believe me. But she asked no questions and we started walking in silence towards the nearby city.

*****

You are gonna LOVE this section! Humors-R-Us! *cackle*

“I stand out, don’t I Lily?”

We were walking in the city, and I was getting more than a few stares. Was it MY fault I was purple? I felt my ears droop.

Lily looked around and finally noticed the looks I was attracting. “Oh, yeah. Maybe we should get some disguises and cover you up.”

I was about to agree when she pushed me into a store…for women! Lily pulled me into the makeup isle as I blushed madly. “Let’s see here...,” she muttered to herself as she looked up and down the different kinds of lip-gloss and stuff. This was not looking good.

“Got it!”

Before I knew it, Lily dragged me to the checker. “Kid!” she whispered. “Make some money, fast!”

I made a few dollar bills in my hand and put them on the counter. The checker handed me our change and the bag with the makeup. I put the change in my pocket just as Lily again grabbed my arm and pulled me into another store. I waited at the counter while she got some clothes. Again, I had to pay. After that, she took me to a very gross alley strewn with beer bottles and piggly wiggly bags.

She pulled out the big bag a pair of faded blue jeans, a fishing hat, a black sleeveless shirt, a pair of red and white sneakers, and a denim jacket. “Go dress behind that dumpster.”

I went over there and almost stepped on a rat the length of my arm. “Oh, the life of a god.” I muttered as I got dressed. I walked back over and saw her digging through the smaller bag. “Lily, what are you doing?”

She opened the small bag with our makeup purchase and pulled out a big case of face powder. I finally realized what was going on. “Oh no. No Lily! I won’t wear women’s makeup!”

“Oh, come on Kid! You shave your head, wear weird clothes, your skin is purple, you look like an elf, your eyes look like you use too much mascara, and you're afraid of this wittle powder? What about being a high and mighty god, hm?”

I sighed. There was no use fighting with her. “Alright, powder me.”

I tried to stand still as she powdered my face and hands. I refused to let her do anything else.

When she was finished, I made a mirror. With the hat on to cover my ears and hair and the makeup, I almost looked like any other earthling. “Wow, Lily. I look... mortal.”

Lily walked behind the dumpster and I heard her say, “What’s wrong with being mortal? Turn around, I’m dressing!”

I discreetly turned around and said, “Well, nothing, I was just saying I didn’t look like a god, that’s all.” I waited a while until I heard her say, “Okay, I’m done. Turn around.”

I did as she said. Whoa! That…that was not Lily!

Instead of her dorky pigtails, she had her hair down, all the way down to her ankles. She had a red vest on with no shirt underneath. The vest was short, exposing her belly button. Her jeans were light blue with side pockets and she wore the same shoes as I did.

I couldn’t take my eyes away. She wasn’t just some nerdy girl, she was…she was pretty!

Lily cocked her head and said, “Kid, what are you staring at?”

I shook my head. “O-oh nothing!” I put my hand on the back of my head and laughed nervously. “Nothing at all!”

Lily stared at me for a few seconds, but then she grabbed my hand and we walked out into the sunlight. I noticed for the first time how warm her skin was. Maybe it was just the makeup.

Suddenly, my stomach growled loud enough to catch looks. Lily giggled and said, “I’m guessing that you’re hungry! Let’s go eat, earth style!”

*****

We went to a hut-shaped building with a sign reading “Pizza Hut”. *snicker* “Come on, Kid! This is my absolute favorite place to eat!”

We walked inside and placed an order, or Lily did. I had no idea what “pepperoni pizza” was. It took a while, but the order came. I looked at it. It certainly looked like nothing I had ever eaten. It was covered in cheese and thin round meats. I pointed and said, “Is this what we’re eating?”

Lily took a slice and actually ate it! “Yep, sure is! Taste it!”

I picked up a piece, feeling the grease on my fingers. Well, it’s now or never. I shoved it into my mouth, fully expecting a horrible taste.

It wasn’t. In fact...

“L-Lily! This...this is WONDERFUL!” It was hard not to yell, but the taste was so different from anything I had ever tasted! I had always had the finest food to eat, yet this pizza was the best thing I ever ate.

I grabbed another piece and quickly ate it, licking my fingers. Lily stared, still on her first piece. “Uh, wow. I knew they were good, but not that good.” Then she realized why I was so ecstatic. “You’ve never had pizza, have you?”

I shook my head. “No, I’ve only eaten the best food there is. Éclairs get boring after a few centuries.”

*****

After finishing the pizza, we started to walk along the sidewalk. Lily said she wanted to show me the park. I had never been to one, and I thought it would be nice.

“We’re here!” Lily announced. I looked at the small fenced area surrounding us. It was nothing special, a few odd toys here and there covered in children, a court with hoops on both sides, a food court, and a huge grassy area.

“Come on!” Lily led me out to the field and sat down, Indian style.

“What are you doing, Lily?”

“Shh! Sit down.”

I did as I was told. We sat still for a while in silence until Lily pulled out a small metal bar.

She played a small but beautiful song on it, then put it back down.

I stared. For the third time today, she had surprised me. “That was a nice song! What did you play it on?”

She smiled and showed it to me. “Harmonica, you like?”

I nodded. “You know, I play an instrument too.”

Her eyes widened. “Really, what?”

“You won’t laugh?”

“No, of course not!”

“Promise?”

“I promise, I promise! Now tell me!”

“A ukulele.”

Lily only stared. She began to giggle, and then started to roar with laughter.

My face flushed. “Hey, you said you wouldn’t laugh!”

She covered her mouth and stopped laughing. “I-I’m sorry! It’s just I would’ve never thought of a god playing a ukulele!”

I looked down, feelings a little hurt. “I’m not just a god, ya know. I’m a person too.”

“I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to insult you. Forgive me?”

I looked up and smiled. “Okay. Hey, would you let me play for you?”

“I’d like that!”

I stood up and made my own personal ukulele appear in my hands. I closed my eyes and strummed it for a warm up, then played my favorite song, Beautiful Dreamer.

After I was done, I sat back down and looked at Lily. She did not say anything at first.

“Was I bad?”

“No! You were great! Who taught you that song?”

“My mother, Nishi Kaioshin.”

Lily’s face changed to confusion. “Where is she?”

I tried to hide my feelings, but was unable to. “She was killed by Buu millions of years ago. I was only a baby. This song is the only memory I have of her.”

Lily gasped. “Oh, I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have asked.”

We sat a while, not speaking, listening to the kids laughing and playing. I looked up and saw a young boy run over to his mother and father. The mother held up the boy and hugged him lovingly. I almost hated them, the fact that they could have a family and I, a holy god, could not. This was one of the reasons I stayed away from places like this.

“Hey, Kid?”

I looked at Lily. “Yes?”

“If it’s any consolation, my parents are dead too.”

I was shocked. “I thought 18 and Krillen were your parents.”

She shook her head slowly. “My father was Android 16, my mom’s name was...oh, it’s been so long I can’t remember their real names.”

I dared to ask how they died. As she talked, I could feel her memories flowing from her, forming a perfect picture in my head.

“Well, one day, when I was just 5, a group of men with the Red Ribbon Army logo on their jackets came to my home. They said if my father didn’t come work for them, they’d kill me and my mother and take him anyway. I think it was because he was such a powerful fighter.”

A group of men pointing guns at a tall man with red hair, a thin, frail looking woman holding on to a much younger Lily. Yelling for the man, 16, to come with them or they would kill the women.

“Dad didn’t want to, but he had to, so he left with them.”

16 bowing his head and walking forward, accepting the handcuffs around his hands. The woman was on her knees, begging the men to take her instead. Lily grabbing her father’s leg. 16 bending down and stroking the girl as best he could with the restraints.

Lily looked down at the harmonica.

“He gave this to me the day he left, and told me to take care of my mom. However, I could not. My mother was so overcome with grief she became ill. I tried my best, but I had no money for a doctor; the soldiers took it all. She died when I was 6 years old on my birthday.”

16 giving Lily a harmonica. Another memory of Lily, a bit older holding on to her mother’s hand as the woman lay in bed. The hand held Lily’s tightly, but released its grip as its owner let go of life.

I saw tears drop onto Lily’s pants, leaving stains.

“I went out to look for my dad, and ended up in the city.

Lily walking in the rain, falling asleep in a cardboard box on the street.

“Mrs. Briefs found me and took me to Capsule Corp.”

A blonde woman picking up Lily and walking off with her.

“I found my father there and Dr. Briefs helped him remember me. It was the best time of my life."

16 holding on tight to a laughing Lily.

“But then, Dad was killed by Cell, and 18 promised him he would take care of me.”

Cell blasting 16 to pieces, Lily being held back by the Z Warriors from running to her father.

I did not know what to say. “I’m...sorry Lily. I had no idea.”

Lily shook her head and looked up at me. Her eyes sparkled with the tears, which she wiped away. “Enough of these tears, I want to show you something! C’mon!”

Lily led me out to the food court. We stopped by a vending machine, which Lily kicked. Brightly colored packets fell from the hooks into the bin. Lily took out the bag and poured the candy into my hand. She ordered, “Try them!”

I did as she said and popped them into my mouth. Wow! The flavor was explosive! I swear I could feel my face begin to glow. “W-wonderful flavor! What are these?”

She giggled, sounding very much like a robin’s song. “They’re M&M’s. They’re made of chocolate.” Then she blushed and said, “You know...there is another use for mouths.”

“Really?”

“Yes. Would you...like to try it?”

I hesitated. “Is it good?”

Lily shrugged, causing her hair to ripple like water. “I don’t know. I’ve never done it.” She hesitated and blushed even more. “It requires two people, each possessing a minimum of one mouth.”

It took a moment for this to register in my mind. “You mean kissing?”

Lily nodded. “I wasn’t sure you had heard of it. Wanna try?”

“Okay.”

I took Lily’s face in my hands and I pressed my lips to hers.

I have no words to describe the sensation.

It didn’t tickle my mouth or make my lips tingle.

It did, however, cause a chaotic flutter in my stomach. Goosebumps broke out on my arms. My heart thundered.

Lily pulled away.

We stood silent for a moment. I broke the silence. “That was pleasant, but not as pleasant as chocolate.”

“No,” Lily said. “But nice.”

“Yes.”

“Yes.”

*****

Later, Lily and I walked through the crowded streets. This, too, was pleasant.

I almost wished we could spend the rest of our lives like this. Together. Free to do as we wished.

It was possible. I could teleport us to some hospitable planet with no one on it. Where we would never be found.

Not by anyone. Not by Buu and Babidi. Not by my father, had he been alive. Not by the Z warriors. No one.

For one brief moment, I considered it.

“Where are we going?” she asked.

I looked up into the sky. “Actually, I don’t know.” I decided I should tell her about the death of Dad and Gohan.

“Lily, I need to tel-“

*Side note, this is the second time I’ve had to write this pestering flea’s corny speech from memory, so if I make a mistake, deal with it!*

(Citizens of Earth! Can you hear me? Testing one two. I am the all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful wizard Babidi! Son of the all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful wizard Bibidi! Now now, no peeking. I’m using my unpresentented powers to speak directly to you, the people.)

I looked around in shock. Babidi! Where was he?!

His voice appeared once again.

(I’m so sorry to bother you like this, especially if you’re having an otherwise pleasant day. I too know what it’s like to pestered while having fun! And today three nuisances did just that! Now I’m just looking to repay the favor. Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy my show. Please be courteous and remember that silence is golden okay?)

The images of Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks appeared in my mind.

(I now present the stars of my own personal nightmare. These are the three creatures that I’m looking for. Take a good look at their ugly mugs, for they’re the ones to blame for any and all destruction coming your way. Come out you cowards! Unless you’re scared of little old me! I have a preview for you of what’s in store if you refuse to show your faces. But, first, please let me introduce myself.)

The picture changed to that of that fiend Babidi and Buu.

(The handsome devil you see before you is none other than me; the great wizard Babidi! And this is my servant Majin Buu! The heavyweight champion of the universe. He may not seem like much, but he’s actually quite unstoppable. Just look at him pumping his fists like that!)

Once again, the view changed to the city Lily and I were in. What was he planning on doing?

(Now, do you see this city? Looks like a lovely place, doesn’t it? Well, its citizens are about to get a special sneak preview of the high cost of your cowardice while you look on from your hiding place!)

WHAT?!

(The following is of a violent nature and may be considered quite gratuitous. Enjoy! This program has been sponsored by your fellows!)

Pointing to the city, Babidi cried, “Let the fun begin, Majin Buu!”

Suddenly, I began to rise into the air, as did Lily and everyone else around me. I snatched a telephone pole and reached out for Lily’s hand.

“Lily, hurry and grab my hand! Quickly!”

She tried to, but she could not reach, and continued to fly upwards.

I panicked and let loose of the pole. “Lily!”

I held onto her tightly as we rose into the air. I could see Buu and Babidi far below us.

My sensitive ears heard Buu say, “What Buu want for eats? Oh, yes. Yes! Buu want candy!”

A pink beam shot from the antenna atop Majin Buu’s head and flew towards us.

Realizing what was happening, I put my arms in front of me and yelled, “Shield!”

The attack surrounded the entire population, save Lily and me. I watched in horror as the humans around me turned into candy.

Suddenly, Buu sucked in and the candy rocketed towards Buu’s mouth, which ate them all in one bite.

Babidi laughed in pleasure, but stopped once he saw Lily and me in the air.

“YOU!”

How’d he recognize me? Just then, I noticed my hands were purple again! I reached up to feel my head, and the hat was gone!

“Uh-oh.”

Babidi pointed at me and screeched, “I-want-that-KAI!”

Lily grabbed hold of me and yelled, “Let’s get out of here!” She sped off with me barely hanging on.

Lily flew as fast as she could, and for a second I actually believed we had evaded Majin Buu when suddenly something wrapped around my ankles, pulling me backwards.

“What?” I looked around and came face to pink face with Majin Buu. He had his antenna wrapped completely around my legs, and I was starting to lose my grip.

“Lily! Help!”

She grabbed me by both arms and pulled me as hard as she could, but Buu had a death grip on me. No other choice.

“Lily, Lily, listen to me! I want you to let go...and fly to Kami’s tower!”

Lily was shocked. “Are you NUTS?! No way am I leaving you here alone!”

I yelled in pain as Buu tightened his grip. “Lily! Please do it! I don’t want you to get hurt!”

“I can’t! I...I love you!”

I smiled best I could and said quietly, “I love you too Lily.” I frowned, and said, “And that’s why I’m doing this!”

I let go of Lily’s hands, sending me flying towards Buu. I stopped in front of his pudgy face, upside down.

“KID!” Lily screamed.

“Lily! Go now, please! I’m begging you!”

Lily didn’t move, but then she nodded and flew off.

I watched her fly away, knowing at least she would be safe. I heard a childish laugh and swung my head around. Buu said, “Now you die!”

*another note, I suck at doing action scenes, so I’m really doing my best here!*

He swung me around and around in a circle until I was sure I was gonna puke. He threw me into the ground with a crash.

He landed and walked over, pulling me up by my hair. Giggling, he threw me again into a brick wall.

I stood up, painfully. What was I going to do? Gohan, Dad, even Vegeta couldn’t beat this guy! How could I beat him, when so many others didn’t?

“Well, I’ll just have to try my best then!” I rushed forward and slammed my fist into Buu’s stomach...and it just bounced off!

I landed on the ground, stunned.

Buu smiled evilly and said, “You no fun!” He grabbed me around the neck and lifted me up as if I was nothing. He began to slap me back and forth, bloodying my face.

When he stopped, I could barely see out of my eyes, I was in so much pain. He smirked and prepared to hit me again.VV I yelled, “Ki Aigan!” and Buu shot backwards from the blast, crashing into another wall.

Ha! Maybe I could beat him after all!

Suddenly, a pink blast came speeding towards me, hitting me full in the stomach and sending me flying into a huge truck.

Buu walked calmly out of the rubble, not a scratch or cut to be seen on his body. I could hear Babidi cheering him on in the distance.

Maybe a different attack. Making two ki balls in my hands, I brought them together and cried, “Sonic Boom!”

The attack raced at him, but he actually used Ki Aigan and reflected the attack back at me! I jumped to the side and barely dodged it, rolling on the ground. I landed near a humongous fountain.

He started to walk towards me. I panted, out of breath and ran towards him, punching him in the face. His face turned back towards me and said, “That’s not nice!”

I could only stare in horror, and his fist connected with my jaw. I fell and smashed into a window.

“You no fun!” Buu whined as he picked my up by my shirt. He held me up high and slapped me with the side of his hand, sending me sprawling.

I stood up as best as I could, but as soon as I was on my feet, Buu appeared again and hit me in the stomach. All the air rushed out of my lungs, and before I could retaliate, Buu punched me upwards.

Grabbing me again, he shoved my head through a wall. I couldn’t move, it was if my body had already given up.

Buu pulled me back out and started beating on me once again. I couldn’t even defend myself.

He gave me one final punch and I flew backwards straight into the fountain with a crash.

I tried to stand up, but I could not. My ribs were broken, muscles torn, clothes and skin shredded. I was bleeding from places I did not know I had. My eyes slid in and out of focus.

I collapsed on the ground, holding myself up with one hand on the ground and the other on the edge of the fountain. I knew the reality of this fight then.

“I...I can’t win.”

I hung my head in defeat. This battle was already over.

*****

Lily flew through the air, absorbed in her thoughts.

Sense told her to fly on, but her heart wanted to go back and help Kid.

“Is this what love feels like?”

Suddenly, she could hear Kid Kai crying out in pain in her mind, for Babidi was still broadcasting the fight live. She stopped in midair, still not sure what to do.

Kid screamed again, and she knew what she had to do.

Turning towards the city, she cried, “I’m coming Kid!” and flew back.

*****

Lily landed by a rock and looked out. She was horrified by what she saw.

Buu was mercilessly, beating on Kid Kai like a doll. The monster shoved the young god through a wall, and then began to pound on Kid again.

“This isn’t a fight...” Lily murmured. “This is murder!”

Buu punched Kid one more time and Kid soared through the air, smashing into a fountain. He tried to stand, but collapsed. Kid Kai did not even try to defend himself; instead, he gave up and was waiting for Buu to finish him off, to end it. Buu walked forward, ready to kill the boy.

Running forward to the edge of the cliff, Lily yelled as loud as she could, “KID!”

Suddenly, Kid began to glow with an odd red aura. A ball of ki blasted Buu and held him up in the air.

Babidi ran over and cried in terror, “What’s...this!?”

Kid looked up, and even so far away, Lily could see they were different. They glowed red and had become cat-like.

To Lily’s surprise, Kid’s hair began to grow until it reached the ground. The kai rose slowly in the air, his body still glowing. He even became taller, about as tall as his father.

Babidi tried to run, but Kid turned his gaze upon him and Babidi froze in place.

Kid said slowly, in a voice much different from his that seemed to fill the heavens, “What power do you think you have to take a life!” He yelled and all the water in the fountain rose up like great blue ropes around him.

“Answer me!”

The water surged forward, encircling Buu and Babidi. Buu struggled and blasted his way out of the grasp and landed on the ground.

For the first time, it actually looked as if Buu was scared.

Kid boomed again, “Answer me!”

The rope captured Buu again and lifted him back into the air. Kid lifted a hand, and the water did the same. Kid tossed his arm and the ropes flung Buu and Babidi so far away that Lily could only see specks until they totally disappeared.

However, she did catch Babidi pointing a finger at Kid and a great, black bolt of lighting shooting out of it and striking Kid in the back, encircling him completely.

Kid screamed in pain as the lightning trapped him and he fell back to the ground.

“Kid!” Lily ran down to where Kid lay face down in the dirt.

“Oh, no, Kid!” She tried to touch him, but a black spark hit her, shocking her whole body. “Ouch!”

She looked down. Kid was unconscious, not breathing.

For the first time in many years, Lily began to sob and gently turned Kid over, cradling his cold body in her arms. “Oh Kid...this is all my fault. It’s all my fault...”

Her tears dropped onto his face and ran off the side onto the ground.

Lily sat there crying, cursing herself, when suddenly she felt a bloodied hand touch her cheek.

“Please...please don’t cry, Lily.” Kid said quietly.

Lily was overjoyed and stopped sobbing at once. “Oh, Kid! You’re alive! I’m so glad!” She looked down at him. His eyes were back to normal, no longer so evil looking.

Kid smiled, and then winced in pain. “I-I’m glad you’re safe too, Lily. I...wouldn’t be able...to stand it if you were ever hurt...” Then he lapsed back into unconsciousness.

“Kid?” Lily began to panic again. “Kid, you have to stay awake! Wake up!”

Suddenly, Lily felt a hand on her shoulder. She gasped and turned around, relieved to see Goku.

Goku smiled and said, “Let’s get him to the Lookout.”

Lily smiled back and nodded as Goku teleported them to Kami’s Tower.

~Aw, poor Kid. *sniff* Hope he’s okay! Let’s see if he’s okay, shall we! Siona, whose fingers REALLY hurt.
