Note: I based Babidi’s speech on the English dub entirely from memory. Seeing how I don’t do well with this, bear with me.
“Citizens of Earth, can you hear me? Testing one two. I am the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-powerful wizard Babidi! Also known as the son of the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-powerful wizard, Bibidi!” Atarashii, Judaiko, and Taihen jumped up in shock. Taihen put a hand to her ear and cried, “Hey, did you here that?!” A boy at the next table said, “Yeah! I heard it, but I heard it in my head! Man, waay too much ice cream…” Atarashii was confused. Who was this Babidi dude? The voice returned. “Now now, no peeking! You might as well stop looking for me, you’re not even close! I’m using my magical abilities to communicate directly to you; the people. I hope I’m not disturbing you if you’re having an otherwise pleasant day. I do know what’s it’s like to be pestered while having fun! And today, three nuisances did just that, and now I’m looking to return the favor!” Suddenly, three images appeared in Atarashii’s head. It was of a tall green man in a cape and turban, and two boys, one with purple hair and the other with black spiky hair. “I now present the stars of my own personal nightmare. These are the three creatures that I’m looking for! Get a good look at their ugly mugs, for they’re the one to blame for any and all destruction coming your way! Come out you cowards, unless you’re scared of little old me! I’ve got a special preview of what’s to come if you don’t surrender, but first, let me introduce myself.” The image in their heads disappeared and changed to a view of the city they were in and two men, one small and the other quite fat. “The handsome devil you’re now looking at is none other than me, the great wizard Babidi! And this is my faithful servant, Majin Buu, the heavyweight champion of the universe! He may not seem like much, but he’s actually quite unstoppable. Just look at him pumping his fists like that! Now, this looks like a nice place, doesn’t it? A nice place for Majin Buu to pick up a little snack! The following is of a violent nature and might be considered quite disturbing. Enjoy! This program has been sponsored by your fellows!” Pointing at the city, the wizard cried, “Let the fun begin, Majin Buu!” Buu lifted up his arms and yelled, “Whoo-hah!” Suddenly, Atarashii began to fly up into the air, as did Taihen, Judaiko, and everyone else around her. Reaching out for her companions, she cried, “Judaiko, Taihen, grab my hands!” The three girls joined hands and held onto each other as tight as possible. They flew higher and higher, until Atarashii could see the whole city. She heard Buu scream, “Buu want CANDY!” A pink beam came flying at them and surrounded everyone. Atarashii could feel her body twisting and turning in ways it should not have. Her body forced itself into a ball and began to shrink until she became the size of…a JAWBREAKER?! There was a loud popping sound and Atarashii’s whole world went black. What was happening!? Suddenly, she felt her now tiny body flying through the air. She smacked against other forms and felt herself land in something gooey and wet…rather like…a mouth! Atarashii could feel all of the pain as Buu crunched her and her friends into pieces. It was unbearable! She tried to scream, but nothing came out. She could feel her life slipping away as she broke apart. No, she thought to no one but herself. I don’t want to die… I just want the pain to…end… Then she thought no more as she fell into nothingness.
Grand Kai gasped. The three young women that were destined to become gods had died. He was certain that they were waiting in line somewhere on Snake Way. “Baba, come to me, Baba!” A wizened crone floated to him. “Yes sir, Grand Kai?” “The chosen three have come. I want you to make sure they keep their bodies. Hurry, go find them and train them in the way of gods! I believe they are at the end of the line. They are in your care, now go!” Baba frowned. “Sir, the legend of the women replacing the First as Kaioshin-Kais’ protectors is only a myth. I have seen them myself, they are only children! The oldest is 17! How can they be who you claim to be?” Grand Kai scowled heavily and, even though he wore sunglasses, Baba could feel a cold stare on her. “Are you saying you won’t do what I tell you to do, Baba?” “N-no! Not at all, sire! I’m going!” The witch bowed and flew away at top speed. The Grand Kai walked back into his palace. Stopping in the hallway, he looked back at the witch floating away. Maybe it was a legend, but he was sure of this. The god turned to an enourmous picture of enourmous detail. It portrayed three gorgeous women and the Kaioshins before the great Buu massacre. They each had a staff, one stood for water, one for electricity, and one for earth. Next to it in glass was an ancient piece of paper with three different styles of handwriting. The First had wrote it on the day they died by the hands of Buu. It told that they had foreseen their deaths and that of the Kaioshins, saying that they would return in a million years to guard the gods again.
“Atarashii! Atarashii, wake up! Please!” Atarashii carefully opened her eyes and looked up into the worried faces of her best friends. They looked like they were on the verge of crying. Judaiko brushed away a tear and said, “Oh, I thought we’d lost you! I’m so glad you’re okay!” Atarashii nodded. “I am too!” Looking around, she was startled at their surroundings. This wasn’t Earth, not even close! All she could see was yellow clouds, no sky, trees or anything. They were on some kind of twisting road. Climbing up on her knees, she asked, “Guys, where on Earth are we!?” Taihen looked at Judaiko and said quietly, “Well, you won’t believe this, but we’re dead! And this is Heaven!” Atarashii’s mouth dropped. “Get outta here.” Judaiko shook her head. “No, it’s true! The only reason we were allowed to come up here is that we’re fighters. That, and we’ve never really hurt anyone. Look, we even have halos. Wish we had wings, though…” The teen looked above her friend’s heads and, sure enough, halos hovered above their heads. Feeling above her own head, she could feel one of her own. She grabbed at it and tried to pull it off, but it stayed there. The truth was finally sinking in. “We’re…dead…” Taihen nodded. “Weird, isn’t it. I feel alive, but different. Like something’s missing.” Judaiko closed her eyes deep in thought. “Yeah, like a part of yourself is gone or something. Very spiritual stuff.” Atarashii felt the same way. It was strange. “So guys, let me get this straight. We are dead, we have halos, so I’m guessing we’re angels. Ya think we can fly like angels?” Suddenly, a cracked voice said, “No, unless you can control your ki.” Startled, the three teens turned around. The comment had come from an old woman sitting on a glass ball. From the looks of it, she was a witch. “Hello girls, I’m Baba, the witch. I’m here to help you in your after-life.” Atarashii smirked and said, “So even we angels have guardian angels, eh?” Baba smiled. “Yes and no. I’m here to guide you in your journey and teach you. I can sense an essence in you that I have only felt a few times. I think you are destined to bec-.” Judaiko’s eyebrow shot up as she interrupted her. “Ugh, school? No thank you!” Taihen and Atarashii giggled. The old witch sighed and shook her head. This was going to be tougher than she thought…
“That’s not right! Now, try it again!” It was two years later. Buu was dead and gone, there were rumors that the other gods that had died were back to life, and that Higashi Kaioshin and Kibito had fused. The girls had been wished back to life, but Baba had kept them in heaven so they could train. Baba had been training the girls for a long time now. They could fly, find ki’s, perform simple attacks, teleport, and even had their own special attacks. Now she was teaching them how to make objects appear and how to transform them. Judaiko was doing the best, but the other two were having trouble. “Come on guys!” Judaiko encouraged them. “Just use your imagination.” Atarashii and Taihen were floating with their legs crossed and eyes closed. Taihen opened an eye and said snippily, “If I imagine any harder, my imagination gland will burst!” Loosing her concentration, she fell onto the floor with a loud thud. Baba floated over and whacked her over the head with a ruler. “What did I tell you? You must always concentrate! How are you supposed to become goddesses like that?!” Taihen rubbed her head and said, “Hey, I specialize in teleporting, not materializing! Jeez.” Taihen got up and back into position. Atarashii said sadly, “Baba, when are we going to be ready to become the Kaioshins' apprentices? We haven’t even met them!” The old witch turned around and sighed. “Atarashii, you say that every day. Why do you keep asking me?” “Because I want to know and you can see the future, so I thought you knew.” Baba turned back around and closed her eyes. Atarashii’s heart sunk. She was tired of training! She wanted to go to Kaioshin-Kai! Baba sensed the girl’s confusion of being here so long and her homesickness for Earth. The other girls missed their Earth, but not as much as Atarashii. Maybe they were ready. The witch swung around and the trio of trainees looked up. Taking a deep breath, Baba said, “I have decided that you are ready to meet your predecessors. Come with me.” The friends jumped up and down in the air. They were finally going to Kaioshin-kai! For two long years they had been training, and it had all been worth it! Baba yelled from the hall. “Hey, are you three coming or not?!” Straightening their backs, the girls walked into the hallway towards their future.
Well, that’s the end of Chapter 2! Will the girls be accepted as the Kaioshin’s protecters? I’m not telling! I’m so evil that I’m gonna make you wait till Chapter 3! *cackles* ^.^ ~Nishi Kaioshin
