LoN Secret Rares

Welcome to fourth and latest column! It's my first in a very long time. I decided to share some special information about the Secret Rare cards in Labyrinth of Nightmare with you guys. Gemini Elf and Magic Cylinder, what's their story? Well, I'm about to tell you.

Gemini Elf
Hobby Secret Rare
Attribute: EARTH
Type: Spellcaster
Level: 4
ATK: 1900
DEF: 900
Effect: none

Gemini Elf is the latest of the 4-Starred Beatdown Monsters. 1900 ATK with only 4 Stars goes really well with each other. This baby can replace La Jinn, 7 Colored Fish, Harpie's Brother, etc. This Monster is perfect for Beatdown Decks. Better than all of the 1800 ATK Monsters! The only one stronger is Goblin Attack Force, but we all know what its drawback is though. I'm sure that every Beatdown user will be chasing after this thing for awhile; at least until Vorse Soldier comes out. Same ATK and Level, but not Secret Rare (easier to get). Since Gemini Elf is the Hobby Secret Rare, it's easier to get than Magic Cylinder, which is the Retail Secret Rare. Although, Gemini Elf ISN'T perfect! It's not powerful enough to act like a wall around your Life Points (unlike Monsters such as Dark Elf, Jirai Gumo, and Goblin Attack Force). If you want a semi-invincible Beatdown Deck, you'll need Gemini Elf to keep up with all of the other Beatdowns. The thing is, don't go jumping through hoops just to get this card. In my opinion, Magic Cylinder is better.

Final (and overall) Rating: 8/10

Magic Cylinder
Retail Secret Rare
Attribute: none
Type: Normal Trap
Level: none
ATK: none
DEF: none
Effect: Negate the attack of 1 of your opponent's monsters and inflict Direct Damage equal to the attacking monster's ATK to your opponent's Life Points.

Magic Cylinder. It's sort of like a mini-Waboku that only blocks one attack, but sends it right back at them. Let's say you use this Trap while a BEWD is attacking. HELLO! 3000 points of direct damage to your opponent's Life Points! Magic Cylinder is great against Beatdown Decks, because when you're up against a Beatdown, your opponent will be chalk-full of powerful Monsters to use against you. And that's not a bad thing when you've got Magic Cylinder waiting. With a Trap this powerful, Upperdeck is sure to be restricting it to one...but there's a chance of two. What you mainly want from this card is to save your butt, and kick your opponent's. Basically, that's because it DOES save your butt, and it DOES kick your opponent's. The best part of this card is that it's coming out in the Yugi Structure Deck, so you can have a Magic Cylinder with a Swords of Revealing Light, Mirror Force, and the Magnet Warriors.

Final (and overall) Rating: 9/10
