This column is pretty much based around facts and/or opinions about why the Promotional Cards are good, and why they aren't. Are you a fan of the Promos? Or do you hate them? Well then, check out this column.

Why They're Good

Introductory: The Promo Cards have been wanted ever since Dark Duel Stories came out in America (with the release of the Promos: Dark Magician, BEWD, and Exodia the Forbidden One). This part of the column explains why the Promos are good, and why you should have them.

• Some are really powerful (Seiyaryu, Dark Magician, BEWD, etc.)
• Good M/T cards (Exchange, etc.)
• Pretty good effects (ex. Exchange: Look at the opponent's hand and take a card.)
• Really hard-to-get cards (Exodia the Forbidden One, 'Booster Pack' BEWD & Dark Magician)
• Some have better pictures than another (ex. Shonen Jump Promo BEWD compared to Booster Pack BEWD).
• You mostly get a game or magazine to go along with your Promos.

  Conclusion: Those are the good parts, but let's see if you can balance them out with the bad parts.

  Why They Aren't Good

  Introductory: Promos may be Rare, and sought out for, but they're not all that great. See the reasons why.

• Some very bad M/T cards (Acid Trap Hole, Salamandra, Skull Dice, etc.)
• Too many high level Monsters (Dark Magician, BEWD, Seiyaryu, etc.)
• They don't supply many chances of new strategies.
• Aren't exactly the easiest cards to get (when Duelist of the Roses comes out, it'll be sold out in like a day or two).
• Some are a little bit chancy (Skull Dice, Exchange, etc.)
• Don't really fit well in any SINGLE deck type.

Conclusion: So, there you go, the reviewing's done. You can find a balance somewhere in there, sometime. You'll need to think a bit whether to use them or not. Some are good, and some are bad...you can now make a decision on which is which.
