Chapter 8

Kidnapped

"Oh my god," Bulma breathed. Vegita, still breathing heavy, looked up at Bulma's pale, sweat-dampened face.

"What?" He asked. Bulma shook her head. Vegita shook HER.

"What?!" He demanded. Bulma continued to look past his shoulder. Vegita whirled around and stared out the window.

Nothing.

"What in God's name are you staring at, woman?!" Vegita yelled, whirling back around to face her. Bulma just shook her head again.

"N-nothing. I th-thought I s-saw a....a....I don't know," Bulma finally stuttered out. Vegita stared at her long and hard. She was still pale and looked frightened. 'The woman is scared of nothing?' He thought. Swearing and frustrated, Vegita grabbed his black spandex shorts and yanked them on before storming out of the room.

Bulma stared after him. 'Eric....' She looked back at the window. He wasn't there. He obviously disappeared when he sensed her stare on him. If Vegita saw him standing there.....

Eric was the one who had tried to kill her in the gravity room. He was the one who tormented her mind. She was scared to death of him and he knew it. Eric also knew Vegita and his temper. They were as close to friends as Vegita would let a human be. How they met was beyond Bulma's knowledge, but she knew that Vegita was the one who got them dating. Vegita knew that Eric was in love with her but didn't know that Bulma wasn't in love with him. He was totally confused when Bulma ended the two-year relationship. Vegita never knew what Eric did to her when they were alone. Eric tormented her, verbally, physically, and sexually. He never raped her, for he was well aware that she was virgin and didn't want to take her virginity to cause suspicion. But now that he knew she wasn't.....Bulma didn't even want to think about it. 'I've got to stay away from him,' Bulma told herself. 'No matter what.'

Shivering, Bulma quickly dressed again. She opened the refrigerator and swore when she saw how low they were on food. The last thing she wanted was to go out right, for she didn't know where Eric lurked. Hell, for all she knew, he could've taken all the food to trap her into coming out. 'What choice do I have?' she asked herself. 'He probably isn't out there and if I don't get something to eat, Vegita'll scream at me.' Sighing, Bulma picked up her keys and purse, scribbled her parents and Vegita a not on where she was going, and walked out of the house.

As soon as she stepped outside, Bulma felt uneasy. She stopped for a second before breathing in deeply and sprinting to the car, opening the door, getting in, and locking the door as fast as she could. She must've looked like a fool but she didn't care. Hurridely, Bulma started the car and pulled out of the driveway.

'Well, so far so good,' Bulma thought as she waited in line at the check-out counter. She had been there for about 45 minutes and there was no sign of Eric. 'Dammit, why do I have to be so scared of him? Is it because he saw me with Vegita? It is because I know what he can do?' Bulma's mind droned on and on with questions while she paid and carried her bags out. She managed to forget Eric for a little bit as she struggled to put her bags in the trunk. She nearly screamed as she felt arms come around her and ease the bags down.

Bulma felt her stomach churn as she whirled around. As she feared, she found herself looking into a pair of smiling, taunting green eyes. She opened her mouth to scream only to have a large rough hand clamp down on her lips.

"Shh...shh, my love. You know that I won't hurt you....yet," he taunted her. "Get in the car." Bulma stubbornly stood there. "Get in the car!" Eric demanded more loudly. Trembling, Bulma obliged, crawling into the passenger's seat. Eric got into the driver's seat, started the ignition, and calmly drove off.
