Magic Knight Rayearth is the story of three junior high school girls, Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji, who were summoned to Cephiro, a fantasy world where one's will rules over all. Cephiro was crumbling because there Pillar, Princess Emeraude, had been imprisoned by High Priest Zagato and was unable to support the world with her prayers. The girls must acquire the legendary ore, Escudo, and revive the three Rune-gods (machins) to become Magic Knights and rescue the princess. If they do not rescue Princess Emeraude, they can't go back to Tokyo and must remain in a world destined for doom. It's a race against time as the girls must overcome all obstacles and become the legendary Magic Knights!!
