These are some photographs of my friend Andrea and my younger brother, taken for Photography class at my school. I graduated from the pinhole camera program, and now I'm taking the 35mm camera program. It's much more fulfilling, because I can photograph moving things like people and rushing water. Most of the pictures I took are of trees and nature, with people moving among them. The whole "ethereal tree goddess" concept really appeals to fantasy-loving person like me.

This is a silver tiara that I made in sculpture class to wear to prom. The front pendant was cast from a mould I created, and the side arms were hand-sawed and pounded into shape. Then, I soldered silver wires in the shapes of spirals to the arms, and soldered the arms to the central pendant. There are strings of beads connecting to the tiara, which I strung myself. The jump-rings attaching the beads to the tiara were also made by me. When the tiara was formed, I painted it with sulphur to dye it black. Then, I polished away the areas I wanted shiny, and voila! This tiara was inspired by Lord of the Rings/fantasy Celtic style, Paradise Kiss, and Record of Lodoss War. The other picture is of me going off to prom!

This is a Christmas present for my little brother. It's a handkerchief with metallic thread embroidery on Duppioni silk. He likes medieval-style art and culture, especially the Uther book series by Jack Whyte, and this was meant to keep with that theme.

This is a photograph of a silk scarf I made in Textiles class. I painted and embroidered the silk myself. I know I've been talking about this project for a while, so it's nice to finally be able to share it with you! Those round things are mirrors, sewn on to the cloth.

This is a handwoven tunic I made. I washed and dyed the wool, then spun it into yarn. I then wove the yarn on a floor loom, lined it, and embellished it. It's a pretty warm outfit, and great if you want to draw attention to yourself.

Here's my homemade hat collection! For the first three, I dyed wool and felted it, then sewed the felt pieces together and embellished them with embroidery. A detailed comic-book explanation of the process is on the Escapist Artist page. For the last hat, I layered silk fragments with glue over a styrafoam head to shape it, then added a veil and beads. This was my final project in Textiles class.

Here's a new intagio print I completed this year at university. The woman is my grandma, who died and left me the doll in the foreground as a memento. When I first finished printing this series, some worthless person came in and stole the entire thing. I was furious, but I was able to make more prints after the fact, and it didn't affect my marks. If I ever catch the person who stole them, I will do everything within my power to ruin their university or art career. The whole university will stand behind me, so they'd better watch out.

This is my final intagio project of the year, which uses two different layers of colour. It's taken from a photograph I took on a visit to Casa Loma in Toronto, an old estate that's open to the public. It's a gorgeous castle, I suggest you go!
