Story:
Lee Chaolan is the adopted son of Heihachi Mishima.
Lee was adopted when Heihachi saw him, as a young boy, defend himself from
a gang of thugs. This enchanted Heihachi, and he accepted Lee as one of
his own- as a replacement for his 'weaker' natural son, Kazuya. Heihachi
groomed the young Lee for future ownership of the Mishima Financial Empire,
while abusing Kazuya through the harsh training of Mishima Karate. As Lee
got older, he saw the corruption of Heihachi's hold of the Mishima Zaibatsu,
and wanted to stop it. When the King of Iron Fist tournament 1 was announced,
he readily joined, with hopes of winning the tournament and the Zaibatsu,
and bringing a more peaceful rule to it. It wasn't meant to be however,
as he was defeated by his stepbrother, Kazuya Mishima, near the end of
the tournament. From then, he decided to stick with his brother, thinking
him the lesser of 2 evils.
During Kazuya's reign of power, he worked for
him as his secretary- not a big job for a former heir. He worked, without
much complaint, for his older brother- despite Kazuya's dark intentions.
When the King of Iron Fist 2 was announced, he entered it again- to keep
Heihachi from getting to Kazuya, and to try and win the Zaibatsu again-
his urges from the first tournament had reappeared. But, once again, he
failed- and this time it had a bad consequence upon Lee. Heihachi banished
him from the Mishima Zaibatsu for siding with Kazuya-who had been defeated
and disposed off in a volcano. Lee burned with rage and the desire for
revenge, but the urges dissipated into nothing- Heihachi wasn't getting
any younger. It would be better to let him die of natural causes then to
murder him.
With that realisation, he moved to the Bahama's
and lived a solitary life- later using his business knowledge to become
a major stockholder in a robot manufacturing plant, and then onto becoming
the de facto leader of the firm.
Later on, he discovered a huge sell-off of stock
from the G-Corporation- a research lab making giant leaps in the field
of genetics. His intuition told him that something was wrong with this
sudden sell-off, and it never let him down- he hacked into the G-Corporation
network and discovered that the Mishima Zaibatsu had raided the G-Corp
labs in Nebraska and Nepal- causing significant damage, along with the
loss of numerous files of information. Through his hacking, he also discovered
that the Mishima Zaibatsu was trying to genetically create a new lifeform,
but were missing an important component.
Then, the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4 was
announced, with the prize being the whole Mishima Financial Empire. On
hearing this, Lee's fighting passion, and resentment towards the Mishima's,
was rekindled. Because he was exiled from the Zaibatsu, he changed his
identity for the tournament- dying his silver hair purple and signing his
name under a new pseudonym- Violet.
