Silent Hill 2 (PS2)
Ending 1- Maria: You need to make sure you go exactly where Maria tells you to go and ensure she isn't hurt too much. When you make it to West South Vale, make certain you spend a good amount of time with her, especially before the hospital. Once you leave her in the room at the hospital, check up on her often. After you leave her cell in the Labyrinth, attempt to go back in. Before the final boss in the long corridor, don't stick around to listen to the conversation.
Ending 2- The Rebirth: The only way to get this ending is if you get all four of the new items available the second time through the game, which include the 2 books (Lost Memories and Crimson Ceremony), the White Chrism and the Obsidian Goblet.
Ending 3- In Water: Examine Angela's knife. Read the diary on the roof of the hospital. Make sure you listen to the whole conversation over the headphones in the hotel. Listen to the entire conversation in the long hallway before the final boss (if you don't even hear a conversation, then this ending is guaranteed). Throughout the game if you're ever seriously injured, don't heal immediatley, wait a few minutes if it's safe to do so, then heal.
Ending 4- Leave: Keep yourself healthy, don't fight too many enemies and try not to get hit. When you first meet Maria, don't make her remind you of the way to the hotel. Don't go east after leaving the park either. Hit Maria with the wooden plank 2 or 3 times. In your menu, examine both the picture and the letter from Maria. After meeting Maria at the park, try to get her to the room where she feels ill in the hospital (S3 room) as soon as possible; the less time spent with her the better. Listen to the whole conversation in the hallway before the final boss.
Ending 5- Dog: You need to get either all 3 of these endings: 'In Water', 'Leave' and 'Maria', or get the 'Rebirth' ending to unlock the Dog Key. You must get the dog key from the doghouse near Jack's Inn and use it in the Alternate Hotel after you have watched the videotape to enter the Observation Room on the 3rd floor. If you want to see another ending instead of losing all your game to get to this point, just save before going in- that way you can pick back up where you left off and see a different ending.

Metal Gear Solid (PSX).

Invisibility.
Want the whole game to be much more easier by being invisible? (sadly, Bosses will still be able to see you, and Wolves too). Simply submit to Ocelot's torture test (where you'll have to end the game with Otacon, rather then Meryl :o( ), then replay the game over your saved block and you'll find the suit amongst your arsenal! Now guards, soldiers and sentries will never be a problem!

Bandana with a Very Good Knot.
Invisibility's ok, but if you prefer pumping guard's full of lead (...could've been phrased better), simply withstand Ocelot's evil torture and complete the game. Play over your old data and you'll have the bandana...and the little fact of unlimited ammo!

Wish You Were Here....Instead of Me.
You get the camera given to you automatically if you complete the game without Meryl, but if you want some mementos for the first time you complete the whole game for the first time, collect all 4 C4 packages and get as far as the corridor near where President Baker is kept. When you blow up an entrance to Baker's hidey-hole- place another C4 at the end of the corridor. When you blow up the C4, it'll lead you to another corridor- guarded by Gun Camera's- with 2 Level 4 security doors. Get Card 4, go back to this location, throw in a chaff grenade to confuse the camera's, go through the top door and check the bottom-left corner of that room. You should find the Digital Camera there!

The Name's Snake...Solid Snake...
Long process, but it might just be worth it. Complete the game twice on one save block and on your third time around, Snake should get kitted out in a smart tuxedo, complete with bow tie. The theme when you go through the credits will also change to the MGS theme.

Red Ninja.
If  you fancy Ninja in a red suit, do the same as the James Bond cheat above, then fight Ninja a third time and he'll be in a fancy red suit. His icon should also appear on your memory card block too.

Annoying Young Chinese Girls.
Keep calling Mei Ling on the save-game code but don't actually save. Keep doing this numerous times and the feisty young lady sticks her tounge out at you! Feisty little lady...

Tracer Bullets.
You can only do this cheat if you have the bandana. Head down to the Armoury at the  Second Floor Basement of the Tank Hangar after picking up the Level 2 keycard and pick up the Fa-Mas & Fa-Mas ammo. If all is sorted, the last 3 shots in your bullet counter are coloured red. Shoot off all your yellow rounds until you reach the red ones, then stop firing and strap on that bandana! You'll have infinite ammo, and a tracer to see where you're aiming! Magic!

Happy Fun Hour with Psycho Mantis!
There are some extra's to the memory-card-&-controller port-reading Psycho Mantis. During the fight, if you press Triangle to go into First Person View mode, you'll actually be looking out through Mantis's mask! Fre-kay! Plus, if you have ther Konami games (like ISS Soccer or Castlevania), Mantis will refer to them and taunt you with words along the line of "Oh, you're good at Football are you?", or along those lines.

Codec Codes.
During the game, you talk to a lot of people along the way. I am still playing the game myself (up to Sniper Wolf), so more codec codes will be added along the way. Make sure you remember the main first two or all is lost...especially your game data!

Colonel Campbell/ Dr Naomi- 140.85  (gives general advice)
Mei Ling- 140.96 (gives proverbs and ability to save data)
Master Miller- 141.80 (gives advice on how to cope)
Meryl Silverburgh- 140.15 (gives general advice)
'Deepthroat'- 140.48 (gives sporadic advice- will only call, but never respond)
Nastasha Romanenko- 141.52 (gives weapons advice and on how to use them)
Hal Emmerich/Otacon- 141.12 (gives information on where to find weapons and where to go, nothing much else)

Through any point of the game, you will get a response from Campbell/Naomi & Mei Ling, yet don't call the others until they are mentioned (e.g. call Meryl after your encounter with Ocelot and Ken Baker), call beforehand and you won't get a response.

How To Be A Pervert...
It's cruel to humiliate someone, but in video games it doesn't matter. You can do the 3 following things with Ms Meryl Campbell:

Ok, that doesn't sound too perverse, but you haven't seen the other two: Defeat Those Bosses!!!
Ocelot proving a problem? Sniper Wolf sniping you much too soon? Psycho Mantis too much of a psycho? Never fear! Here are some handy-dandy tips on defeating all 10 bosses (well, 9, but one appears twice don't it?)

1st Boss: Revolver Ocelot.
Former Foxhound agent gone bad (like most of the bosses), but this agent is handy-dandy with a gun. To defeat him, you'll have to become handy-dandy with a gun yourself! Hold Square and X to be able to run whilst shooting to be able to chase Ocelot without having to equip & unequip weapons all the time, but Mr Revolver doesn't spin his gun around just to impress you! After 6 shots, he'll have to reload, this is perfect timing for you to blast his @$$ off with some vicious lead. Socom ammo will constantly appear in the corners, but don't get the one's near the middle unless you're that careful! A wrong move will blow the whole place up!

Difficulty Rating: Pretty mean, but he shouldn't prove too much of a problem- 5/10

2nd Boss: The Tank.
That's right! It's not a guy who nicknames himself 'The Tank', I'm talking about a real Tank! (driven by Vulcan Raven) The giant moving metal thing with the caterpillar tracks and the long cannon. The best way to defeat the Tank is to first throw a Chaff Grenade, that way it won't blast you with a shell when you run out from your hiding place. Then, try to get close to it as you can without getting run over and throw some grenades on the top of it. It seems simple, but the Tank moves about a lot- and has some guards with machine guns not taking too lightly to you trying to blow them up...

Difficulty Rating: So long as you can dodge those shell-shots and throw grenades, you have it sussed!- 6/10

3rd Boss: Ninja/Grey Fox.
Scary face, scary sword. You can't shoot him directly from the start because he'll just block the bullets with his sword. You'll have to fight him, one on one in hand-to-hand combat, that way you can start hurting him. But then he'll change into his stealth suit, meaning it's gonna be even harder to go up to him and punch his lights out. So equip your Thermal Goggles (or look for his shadow) to spot him and continue with the assault (keep an eye on your energy bar, mind). Afterwards, he'll start walking around calmly, then smacking you with a powerful 'my-nose-got-shoved-into-my-head' punches, here is the best time to lob a Chaff Grenade to disable him enough for you to treat him like a punching bag, then the finale: He'll start shocking into a giant ball of electrical energy. The best thing to do here is equip your rations, get out your Famas, and blast the shiznit outta him.

Difficulty Rating: If you don't keep an eye out,, then you're stuffed!- 7/10

4th Boss: Psycho Mantis.
First, knock Meryl out with a stun grenade, then it comes the harder part, trying to defeat Mantis. From reading your memory card and being able to depict you on your past actions, he'll prove impossible to hit with either punches or weapons, why? because he's reading your MIND!!!!! or your controller port -_- so to defeat him, you'll have to drub him (preferably with the Famas) using the controller in your Second Controller Port (or you can stick your main joypad into the other port), that way he can't judge your actions and things will get much easier. Keep those Thermal Goggles at the ready when he uses his invisibility and lay on the floor to dodge his floating objects.. Mantis will also keep reviving Meryl, so, get stun grenades at the ready...

Difficulty Rating: WHAT? You don't have 2 joypads???- 6/10

5th Boss: Sniper Wolf.
Best looking boss in the game so far ^_^ but as her name follows, she's a sniper, so you probably won't see her pretty face until she picks you off! But anyway, when Meryl gets shot (poor woman), you'll have to go back to the armoury, B2 in the Tank Hangar and you'll find it in one of the rooms there (room in the top left). Now, go back to where Meryl was shot and get ready for a sniper duel. Make sure you have those rations ready, along with your PSG1. You'll suffer a few shots beforehand, but that is normal. Take some diazepam to stop your hand shaking and keep focused. Once you hit her, she'll prove much easier. As soon as you catch a glimpse of her, you can shoot her before she gets settled. Keep your eye on her all the time, one moment of distraction and she'll be on the other side of the tower in an instant! The best place to try and get her are along the sides. It'll be tricky since where her aiming laser can't go, you can't aim (so no rock-solid safe cover), so you'll have to be careful.

Difficulty Rating: Hope you find a good aiming spot!- 7/10

6th Boss: The Hind-D Helicopter.
Another inanimate object to defeat. From watching action/war movies, so long as you have a missile launcher (which you would've recieved beforehand), a helicopter is pith-easy. This is no different. Make sure you have the Stinger SAM Launcher in your arsenal, then equip either your body armour, or if you haven't got the armour, your rations. Stand behind the structure in the middle of the level, equip the Stinger and lock onto the tiny faint square you'll see within the stinger's view (it will be the Hind). Wait for it to come into clear view, then fire! Keep moving around the central structure-preferably the opposite side of the Hind when it retaliates with its machine guns. After a few hits, it'll fire a missile! Get as close to the north of your structure, leaning against the Level 6 door (won't open until you beat the Hind) as you can to avoid the explosion, then the Hind will fly low around the building- keep it in your Stinger's target sights, shoot when you get a clear view and hide. When you drain it of all its health, lean against the Level 6 door again- it's gonna fire another missile! When you get the explosion and a cutscene of Liquid laughing, and then his Hind losing control- you know you've won.

Difficulty Rating: If you can move fast, your victory will be fast- 7/10

7th Boss: Sniper Wolf....huh?
Yep, she's back! Only this time, she's much more easier to defeat! Mainly because you're out in the open and there's not many hiding places in the open. To defeat her, either stick with the same method as before (hiding around objects and aiming your PSG1). Or much more safer and easier, get down into the bottom right-hand corner and equip your Nikita launcher. Fire a missile, then guide it around the snow bumps and ridges and then straight into her! Keep doing this a few times and she'll be beaten once more! Chivalry has really gone down the drain! The days when you weren't supposed to shoot a woman! (tuts). If you can't find her, use first person view on firing the Nikita and she should appear as a green square.

Difficulty Rating: ....not very much if you have a Nikita- 3/10

8th Boss: Vulcan Raven.
Like Balrog (M.Bison if you're from the Orient), Bruce and Mike Tyson, Raven is a big, bad black dude who'll have you for lunch if you're not careful. Plus he has a massive vision range so, hide behind many boxes to keep out of sight. Then equip your Nikita and guide it around the boxes to Vulcan's back or his sides (he'll shoot them down if you direct them in his field of vision). After a while, he'll begin to run around the complex- so de-equip your Nikita, wait round a junction where you know Raven will pass, equip your Stinger and blast him when he comes into clear view. Be sure to get away as fast as you can though.

Difficulty Rating: If you're quick to de-equip, then things should be much easier- 4/10

9th Boss: Metal Gear Rex.
Yep, this is the big one! The actual Metal Gear! And being the Metal Gear, it has to be one giant bugger didn't it?!?!? There are ways of defeating it, but they both require the same strategy. First, you have to destroy the Radome, but if you get too close to Rex, your ass will get hit by its lasers and guns, get too far and it'll fire guided missiles. To get through this, keep the air constantly Chaffed. That way, like surveillance camera's, the missiles can't lock onto you, then keep moving (unless you want Snake to be kentucky fried), then equip the Stinger, lock onto the radome and fire. Though you might have to practice this pattern (Equip Chaff grenade, throw one, dodge, equip Stinger, lock on, fire, de-equip Stinger, dodge, equip Chaff, etc) so it might just be a teeny-weeny bit tricky, but it's the only clear way of bringing Rex down. Once the radome's out of commission, you'll have to repeat this pattern, only you'll have to aim at the cockpit itself (and it gets much harder after destroying the radar). Help is at hand with constantly reappearing Stinger missile ammo, chaff grenades and rations.

Difficulty Rating: Tricky, very tricky...-  9/10

Final Boss: Liquid Snake.
Solid Snake's blonde-haired clone. You have a time limit of only 2 & a half minutes to defeat him (raises to 3 minutes if you fight him on a continue) so that'll make it all the harder, plus it's hand-to-hand combat again so it'll also take much longer then (say) blowing him up with a Stinger. Get in close and hit him with your 3-hit combo, but walk back if he gets in his fighting stance when you get near him or you'll be hit by his back kick. After a while he'll throw painful 1-2 punches, but try to dodge those punches and keep hitting him with your 3-hit combo's. Be careful as he'll keep with his back kicks, and if you're too far from him, he'll ram into you. When his life has depleted, you'll have to knock him off the edge (don't try doing this beforehand, because he'll just waste time by climbing back up. When he's fallen off, you go through the initial ending and then, with either Meryl or Otacon, you have a little car chase with Liquid driving behind you with a pistol. You can't kill Liquid, you can only keep him at bay.  Try to keep your gun focused on Liquid and keep shooting him from the jeep (you get the best aim when you go into First Person View), and after a while, the tunnel, along with the game, should end.

Difficulty rating: A little bit harder then your average boss- 8/10

Metal Gear Solid 2:Sons Of Liberty (PS2).

Get Extra Items:
To get extra items, simply shoot a guard, then put away your weapon and pick him up by pressing square near his head or legs, then let go. After a couple of tries, a guard should get you the usual bandage, ration & ammo. Yet if you defeat a boss, do the same to them and you'll get extra goodies, for example, after defeating Olga, pick her up and let her go and you should get her dog tag, more M9 ammo, a chaff grenade and a stun grenade (in that order- the stuff you get from her decreases the harder the difficulty you choose though). Also, try looking inside lockers and dark passageways, as there is a certain chance that you'll find some extra goodies in there too.

This is a Stick Up!:
For other extra items in a way that's more fun. Hold a guard up by running up behind him and getting out your gun on him. Snake/Raiden will say 'Freeze!' and the guard will hold his arms up. Hold L1 to keep the gun pointed at him whilst you move in front of him. Then if you aim at weakspots (head, heart, groin mainly), the guard will gasp or say "Don't kill me!' and start shaking off items (along with a dog tag). But if he says "Are you going to kill me?" then shoot him, no questions asked. If you don't, he'll duck and smack yo' ass down! (stare into his eyes for a gleam, that way you'll know he'll attack) Or you can try getting him to co-operate with you by shooting him in the leg or the hand, or you can get out a bigger weapon. Result? Dog Tag, Ration, Ammo & some wet pants for the guard >.<

Dog Tags- Why Bother?
The Dog Tags will bring a lot of goodies for you in gaming. You can get them from guards (they'll be the first thing the guard with hand over to you), and sometimes even from bosses (e.g. Olga Gurlukovich). But you need a certain number of tags to get these goodies. What are these numbers?

46 Tags (from Tanker Level)- Bandana. Like in MGS, this gives you unlimited ammo, but it can only be used in the Tanker Level. Soz.
78 Tags (from Tanker Level)- Invisibility. When equipped, you'll be invisible, just like MGS. Again, can only be used in the Tanker Level
73 Tags (from Plant Level)- Brown Wig. More infinite ammo. Can only be used in the Plant Level
121 Tags (from Plant Level)- Invisibility. Same as before, but this time, can only be used on the Plant Level.
170 Tags (from Plant Level)- Orange Wig. This will give you infinite grip when equipped, but can only be used....that's right, in the Plant Level
218 Tags (from Plant Level)- Blue Wig. This will give you an unlimited O2 supply when underwater in the Plant Level (guess where it can only be used >.<).
All 394 Tags (both Plant and Tanker)- You'll get the web address to a special part of the Konami website where you can get access to wallpapers, screensavers, sounds, etc (so long as you sign in).

Codec Moments:
You'll obviously spot the ones where they call you, but don't forget to call them as well! For the first level, try calling on the Codec when:

TANKER CHAPTER:

PLANT CHAPTER:

Also, try pressing R1 & R2 together to hear what Snake's (or Raiden) thinking whilst Otacon (or Rose/Campbell/Iroquois) blabs on and on (my personal fave is 'blaaah!'), or L3 or R3 (or both, they're the little knobs on your joypad) and you'll get different angles and close-ups of the guys (or gals) in the screen.

Upset Otacon/Rose:
Not really helpful but, after defeating Olga, shoot her one more time. You'll get a call on the Codec and 'Ottie' (can't expect me to say Otacon all the time can you?) will go berserk! Rose will go the same way when, later in the game as Raiden, you shoot the seagulls down (beating up the hostages will also annoy Rose, as will staring at girly posters, the women's toilet cubicles in Strut C and staring between the legs of 'Jennifer').

Raise Health Without Rations:
After a hard battle with some machinegun-toting sentries, you'll need a ration to raise-up your health but, alas, you have no rations! What can you do? Go to a quiet corner and crouch down, your health bar will eventually grow back whilst there!
Unrelated Topic: When you hang over some railings (loads of these at the first level), press L2 & R2 together and Snake will start doing pull-ups, after a couple of pull-ups (or 100), the grip level gauge will lengthen. Helpful? Indeed it could be.

Quick! Hide!
The main aim of the game is complete stealth, but sometimes it may go awry. There's your usual hide-in-the-locker, but how about those other ways? There's the classic Cardboard Box manouerve, but you'll need to hide in the right box in the right surroundings (like orange box amongst orange boxes, etc), because the guard will be suspicious if you're in a different box, and of course, more suspicious if you move.
Then there's dark and/or narrow spaces. Look for a pile of crates near a wall, as there may be a gap between the two, if there is, slide yourself in. Even during a full-on attack, the guards will not be able to follow or shoot you whilst you're there. They'll just stand by, frustrated and annoyed, then give up when the timer runs out!
Another alternative is to keep the noise down. Crawling will let you cross against noisy surfaces quietly, or you can repeatedly tap the D-Pad in the direction you wanna go in and you'll shuffle across, or much cooler, run and press X to dive and roll-much quicker and cooler then shuffling & crawling (#in my skin!#)
Using the scenery around you helps too. Look for scenery that's about one unit high (which is about the size that Snake/Raiden can climb over). You can squat behind these boxes/crates/barriers/railings/Dead Scotsman by pressing X, and therefore avoiding detection-no matter how close a guard gets to you on the other side.

Lockers:
Lockers are a very big help in MGS2, providing you with a hiding place when the guards are after you (open locker with Triangle, walk into it to put yourself inside the locker), or a place to stash the knocked-out/unconscious/dead bodies of guards (pick them up with Square, hold Square whilst you move into an open locker. From then, Snake should place the guard upright in the locker and close the door, they won't wake up whilst inside the locker. Open the door again to give Snake a fright).
When it's a Clearing, and you're in a locker, when the guards come near, crouch down. The grille will be the first thing they'll look through, and if you stay standing, they'll spot your ugly mug, open the locker and.....you're stuffed!

Ooh, Matron!
In the game, you can sometimes find many posters of scantily-clad ladies  ^_^ (open locker and check on the inside door, chances are you'll find one in there, unless it's on the front of the door). Though be careful with these lady posters, if you lean against them and tap the door with Circle when you're unarmed (and at a 'certain place'), then that'll get the guards attention and you'll have to hide pretty sharpish (that's what you get for trying to sexually harass young women, you dirty pervert), though if the guards do come, hide in a different locker, but leave the lady-locker open, the guard will be "distracted" and that'll be your chance to scarper. This'll work with magazines that contain 'ladies' as well ;o)

Tanker Guns- M9 & USP:
When you start the game, all you have is a Beretta M92F. You can use this to, not only knock-out guards, but you can knock-out guards temporarily if, after accidentally getting their attention, a question mark appears above their head. Shoot that and they'll be out of it. Other M9 fun includes shooting the pipes lining down the walls to catch guards off-guard (no pun intended) when you're in Evasion mode, this also works with the fire extinguishers (which you can use to make infra-red sensors visible if you don't have the Thermal Goggles yet). Then, after defeating Olga, Snake will take Olga's gun from her, a USP. Unlike the M9, the USP will kill a guard if you shoot them (meaning blood, so you'll definitely have to hide the body) and the USP is much more powerful, powerful enough to, say, destroy surveillance camera's, if you get what I mean ;o) There are many ammo's spot that pop up too (like under the tables in the Deck-D Crew Quarters near the Galley, or in the locker in the most southern-part of the Deck-B Crew Quarters-Starboard).

#Metal Gear killed the Radio Star!#
If you're spotted, a guard will call on his radio for back-up and an attack squad will come round and beat the hell outta you! But, luckily, there are ways around this. If you throw a Chaff Grenade, they'll disable all electronic devices, such as surveillance cameras', and guard's radios. During the Chaff, when a guard spots you, they'll go for their radio, only to find out it doesn't work! Here you can blast the crap outta him, or beat him up, or tranquilise him, etc. If the Chaff idea doesn't sound too appealing, then, when you enter an area and see various guards, try looking for the guard that you think will be the radio-caller. If you're sure, then kill the other guards and leave the caller till last (if you really need to take him out) and you won't be discovered! Brilliant! Or you can exit and re-enter an area, where the countdown to the Hq asking for a report will be reset, getting you more valuable time. But for something less tame, try shooting their radio. The full alarm won't go off until a few seconds after you've been spotted. In this short time, you can kill the guard quickly, beat him up, or shoot his radio. With a broken radio, if he spots you and tries calling...well, ever talked into a walkie-talkie without batteries?

Sword Swishing Techniques.
When you read below on how to beat Solidus, it says you have to beat him in a sword fight! You have a sword, but how do you use it? simple! You can press Square to switch between 2 types of High Frequency Blade attacks. The Edged Style (red) will slash and attack, reducing the enemy's life gauge, while the Blunt style (blue) will knock them out and/or reduce the enemy's stun gauge. That helps you know the weapon, but not in attack. So, for attacking, hold L1 to block, this way you can deflect body attacks and even bullets (Grey Fox anyone?), and you can still move as well! So press L1, move closer to a distant enemy, and release L1 when he stops firing and you can drub the stupid git as much as you like (or at least until he's dead/knocked out anyway). To do the main attacks with the sword- use your right analogue stick (R3 button). Side-to-side motions perform horizontal slashes, up & down motions perform vertical slashes, pressing the analogue stick button with perform a stabbing motion, and turning the stick around in a 360 will perform a spinning attack.

Vulcan Raven action figure ^^
Yep, there's an action figure of Raven somewhere on that tanker. If you take a pic of it and upload it to Otacon, Snake's sexuality will come into question! Plus, shoot the actrion figure for BB pellet goodness!

Rule Britannia!
Yep, these little ditties are only availiable in the UK version (in your face foreigners! ....ok, I'm done now). Other places may have different additions, but here are the ones for any other 'big-toothed, tea drinking Limey' (like myself) owning their own MGS2 copy.

European Extreme- This is a new level that is unlocked after you complete the game. This should only be in use for pro's, as beginners will get their ass handed to them. The bosses are meaner, the guards are more clever, and you can't afford to alert them even once! (gulps)
Boss Battle Mode- Get to fight Olga,  Fatman, Vamp, etc all in sequence in this Time Attack Mode-style....mode.
Casting Mode- Some laugh-'em-ups here! Here's where you can change characters such as Solid Snake, Raiden, the bosses, etc in the FMV's to middle-aged women, Japanese businessmen, or even Grey Fox/Ninja from MGS!
Digital Camera- Yay! You get the camera for the entire game! Take a picture, save those precious pics on your memory card and wait for Otacon to comment on them later. Hmm...now what would he think of that kinky photo of that Japanese supermodel??

Defeat Those Bosses 2!!!
Yep, this little section is back! and how! But this time, you won't be expecting Grey Fox, Sniper Wolf or Vulcan Raven, no. This time, you have all-new bosses!

1st Boss- Olga Gurlukovich.
Weapon of Choice for Defeat: M9
Head behind the crates in the middle right. Wait for her to go around the centre so she enters her first cut scene. Then, when she comes near you, head to the far right (with any luck, she'll be facing in the other direction) and shoot her (using the L2 & R2 buttons for better glimpses and aiming shots. Then she'll move over to the left- so quickly move there too and, depending which direction she's facing- make sure you're at the side she can't see and shoot her again. After a little shooting session, she may throw a grenade (if she loses and is standing around with the question mark above her head, she'll throw 3 or more of them)- you'll know when she throws one when she cries 'Eat This!'. So watch out for an aerial trail of smoke and move as far away from it as possible. Afterwards, she'll shoot part of the tarpaulin off the central crates so she has cover; move to the right and shoot off the other side (holding R2 will help you get a better look). Then she'll shoot at the light so it'll glare into you and you can't see clearly- so you'll have to shoot it out. It's hard, but it's the only way to sort it out. Then things get easier- she'll resort back to her gunfighting ways from before- give or take a grenade or two.

HINT: Shoot the tarpaulin and light out before Olga can use them against, and she'll prove a much easier fight. This won't work in Hard and the Extreme difficulties. 4 headshots at the most will defeat her
Difficulty Rating- Eh, not too easy, but not too hard either!- 6/10

2nd Boss- Fortune.
Weapon of Choice for Defeat: nothing, zippo, nil, nada, nothing.
Item of Choice for 'Defeat': Rations, bandages, other life-preservers (you'll need them if you get hit).
Now here's where it's weird. She can't be killed in combat (she turns up later in the game and all). So the best tactic in defeating her is....do bugger all! Yep, just hide behind some crates or in a box until it's all over, dodging her electrified bolts from her railgun. Trying to shoot her is just a waste of ammo. If any liquid spills from a container or crate, be sure to keep away from it. When her bolts begin to blow your cover, duck low. When all the crates are destroyed on one side, hide behind the crates on the other side. When that gets blown apart, you'll have to do your best to dodge the bolts yourself. The firing will end when the Colonel calls you.

HINT: Her railgun's strength increases the higher the difficulty you choose, so be expected to have less cover the more harder difficulties you play in.
Difficulty Rating- If you don't know how to hide, then you're stuffed- 4/10

3rd Boss- Fatman.
Weapon Of Choice for Defeat: Socom, Coolant Spray
Item Of Choice for Defeat: Sensor A (will show up Fatman's  bombs).
Daft name, I know, but you wouldn't really wanna take the piss out of someone with lots of C4 bombs! The first bombs are on a crate structure to the right, and a second is on the second big structure from the left nearest the Heliport square. He'll lays 2 or 3 bombs at a time, so dispose of each set and then get in some decent headshots at Fatman with the Socom. Once hit a couple of times (varies between 3 and 4 times), he'll be knocked back and end up lying on his front for a bit- perfect opportunity for a headshot. After you freeze up his first set of bombs, he'll take a break from bombs and skate around the place, stalking to get at you with his Glock machine pistol- the skating around will tire him and he'll stop in his tracks to get his breath back- the perfect opportunity to shoot him with your Socom. As for his bombs, they can hide on the top, sides or undersides of the crates. Use the First Person View (or your radar if you managed to get the sensors) to find them. Then spray them with Coolant to deactivate them (you have an unlimited amount of Coolant, so things are looking up already!). The final bomb is under Fatman! So use Square to drag his ass away and then deactivate the final bomb.

HINT: If you keep attacking at Fatman, then he'll have less chance to plant more bombs. Best opportunity is, at the start, to rush to the bomb on the right side, look down between the 2 crates nearest to the bomb, equip the Socom and shoot down between these crates- this is where Fatman will rush out and- if you equip the Socom at the right moment- rush into your shots! You can also try Claymore mines as well
Difficulty Rating- Easy enough, knock him down with punches and shots to give you more time to freeze his bombs.- 4/10

4th Boss- The Harrier Jet.
Weapon of Choice For Defeat: Stinger SAM Launcher.
Remember Liquid Snake & his Hind-D in MGS? Well, this time it's Vamp, Solidus Snake and their Harrier Jet. How do you defeat a Harrier Jet? a similar way you defeat the Hind-D, use the Stinger and get in some early shots, especially when the jet isn't moving. Also, try blasting it out of the sky when it's above you. When it fires off missiles, go down the stairs to the lower section (or swing over the railing to the lower section and rest against the green structures to avoid the explosion (be quick though). Pliskin will provide ammo and rations to you from his Kamov chopper, so you won't have to worry about ammo and health too much- just make sure you know your way around the stinger and the bridge- and keep your eye on the radar!

HINT: When the jet flies off into the distance, it'll turn around and pelt you with machinegun fire. To avoid this- shoot a Stinger at the jet just when you catch sight of it coming back, then hide around the opposite side of the dome-shaped object to guard against gunfire.
Difficulty Rating- Pretty hard for MGS beginners, not as hard for MGS Pro's- 6/10

5th Boss- Vamp.
Weapon Of Choice For Defeat: Socom, RGB6, Frag Grenades, Stinger SAM Launcher, Claymores (optional).
Funnily enough, like Dracula, he has a taste for blood, and is from Romania (where Transylvania is). But putting his life-story aside, the only thing y'all wanna know is how to defeat him. So, to start off, hit him with the Stinger before he can get going (he'll spin and bow in front of you), but if it doesn't (e.g- he dives in before you can hit) go up to the top-right, next to the locked door. A thing to remember is where he emerges when he jumps out of the water and then squats. When he's underwater, get your Socom or Stinger ready, then aim at the spot and blast him when he pops up. Another way is to place a set of Claymores on your path, so when he approaches, he'll get a nasty shock (don't shoot, or he'll run away). When he throws knives at you, duck with X, run out of the knife's way or jump and hang over the edge of the railing near the pool to dodge them. Each time he leaps into the water, try shooting some grenades or missile at him underwater- it'll cut his oxygen supply down and take chunks from his stun gauge. Don't waste too much time on aiming and timing as it's too tricky with Vamp's speed, but if you get lucky with some grenades, socom shots and stinger missiles, he'll be finished off. Though if you catch sight of him, equip a handgun (M9 or Socom), hold it when you see Vamp and hold L1- your sights will remain targetted on him wherever he jumps to.

HINT: Sometimes, Vamp will fire a bolt that will freeze your shadow onto the spot. You won't be able to move away from your spot until you're hit by Vamp. To prevent this, try shooting out the lights- but to cope with it- make sure you have a weapon equipped at all times.
Difficulty Rating- Very complicated system on how to defeat him....hmmm- 7/10

6th Boss- The Metal Gear Rays.
Weapon Of Choice For Defeat: Stinger SAM Launcher.
Pretty hard as each time you take one out, another pops up. The battle ends with a cutscene after 5 or 6 Gears are destroyed, depending on the difficulty (on the Extreme Level for the PAL version, you have to take out 20! But on Very Easy, you just have to take out 3. European Extreme you have to take out the full 25.). To destroy these robotic menaces, equip your Stinger and lock onto the head, following up headshots and kneeshots for the best damage. Keep your body armour equipped (that is, if you got it from the underwater Emma scene. If not, then equip your ratons.) Also,  listen for the beeps to know where its missiles will hit. They'll hit wherever you were standing last when you heard the beeps. So with luck, you'll be able to dodge them easily. When a Gear jumps at you (or on you- it can execute a stamping attack), unequip the Stinger (using R2) and cartwheel to the left or right to avoid the ground missiles and cannonfire. Don't forget to grab every, or at least most, Rations and Stinger ammo that appears, whilst avoiding the Vulcan Cannon and laser sword fire from the Rays. Do some more Metal Gear-ass kicking with this pattern and you'll get the cutscene.

HINT: You can use Chaff Grenades to mess up its targetting system. Don't worry about using them all up, you won't need them after the fight. On Very Easy, they can be killed with just a stinger missile in their open mouth- fire a stinger missile at their knee to make them open their mouth.
Difficulty Rating- Similar system to defeating the Metal Gear Rex, but there's more of them- 9/10

Final Boss- Solidus Snake.
Weapon of Choice For Defeat: High-Frequency Blade.
This is where you can use Raiden's sword to it's most, as you have to duel with Solidus in a swordfight on the roof of Arsenal Gear...hmm...pretty similar to the hand-to-hand combat with Liquid Snake in MGS, but either ways, make sure that you block with L1, and block each time you're not attacking. Get some horizontal slashes in and then back off and press R3 analogue stick  for a stabbing attack. If it connects, then you've taken off quite an amount of damage from Solidus. Some of his attacks are slow enough to dodge, such as his double blade attack (he'll stretch backwards in doing this), or his Snake Arms (they'll mainly trip you, but if you get caught in their grip, tap Triangle repeatedly and he'll stop choking- but will slam you instead). So after these moves, move in and get some decent hits in. The spinning attack will also help, but only use that when Solidus is off his guard, because the attack is pretty slow and will leave you vulnerable. After you've taken off about 50% life (30-20% life on harder difficulties), Solidus will shed his Snake arms and will start blazing about with firestreams. Dodge these streams with rolls. If you catch fire, you can roll a couple of times to help put it out. Solidus will also strike at you in these streams, so your rolls will be your best friend- as will your L1 block button. Slash him when he's offguard and then move back to avoid his firestreams.

HINT: Try to take advantage of his blind spot- his left side. His missiles are numerous, but don't home in well, so rolling out of the missile's way is the best action.
Difficulty Rating- Practice the sword and thou shalt be a master-6 /10

How To Solve The Puzzles.
Bomb Puzzle 1- On Normal+ levels, there are 3 boxes controllong the infrared sensors. If you don't disable them when you go, then you're dead! But help is at hand. Shoot the flour bag to reveal the beams (or better yet, get the Thermal Goggles for a cool red view), that way you know which beams will get disabled. Then look for a box with a flashing green light, the first one is on the right wall in plain view, shoot it with the USP and you've disabled it. The Second one is harder though, you'll have to stand up on the block with the USP ammo on. It's easier to hit it if you go into First Person View mode and hold L2 & R2 (tip-toes). You should see a green light staring you in the face, shoot it and that's the second set of beams gone. Then finally, the last box is hidden behind a Semtex box and some cupboard deal on the wall. Go into the crawl position (X then a directional button) and you should get a clearer view of it. Shoot it and you're sorted!

The Projector Puzzle (Hold 1)- Crawl under the projector beams, then time yourself and then, when clear, dash off to the top right of Hold 3 (walk slowly across the metal gratings mind)

Getting Off The Roof (Strut A,Roof)- If you look around, you should see a gap in the fence in the top left corner of the area. It's on ground level, so you'll  have to crawl through.

The Bomb Puzzle, Part2- The bombs are best sorted in this order

Getting Past The Camera- If you're trapped in the Shell 1 Core, First Floor, then you need to complete your disguise. How? after all, you've got the uniform, but you need the AK-47 to complete the disguise. You should find it behind the Level 2 door in the Strut F warehouse-bottom level.

Getting Past The Retina Scan- Back at the Shell 1 Core, only this time on the B1 Level, make sure you have the D-Mic device from the B2 level (you'll need it to identify Ames). Wait by the door until a guard comes along, then get him in a chokehold from behind (press and hold Square). Drag him to the retina scan for a cutscene. Little Note: Do NOT kill or knock out the guard!

Find Ames- You should spot him in the Shell 1 Core, B1 hall. Check the bottom-left area of the hall. Then use the D-Mic device and liste. His pacemaker will make a beeping noise. This'll only be on your first time playing through the game- the second time onwards, Ames's location will be at random.

Revolver Ocelot- What's the big solution to beat the clock against the guy who you tortured you in MGS on that weird machine? NOTHING! Don't do anything! Don't equip the AK or anything else, just wait for the time limit to go down. Marvellous! (Or you can equip the AK and get straight into business).

The Bridge Bomb Brain Buster- The bridge between Shell 1 and Shell 2 is booby-trapped with 10 control boxes linked to lots of Semtex  (6 on Very Easy, 8 on Easy, 10 on Hard, 12 on Extreme and 14 on European Extreme [E.Extreme]). Some are easy to spot, some aren't. The best (and right) thing to do is to shoot the control boxes with your PSG-1. The control boxes are:

  1. Below at the foot of the stairs (All difficulties).
  2. Beside the control box near the stairs (All difficulties).
  3. On the dome ahead (All difficulties).
  4. On top of a Cypher hovering above the Strut ahead (All difficulties).
  5. To the left of the entrance to the Strut ahead (All difficulties).
  6. On the bridge, at the left side nearest the Strut ahead (All difficulties).
  7. To the right of the entrance to the Strut ahead (Easy-E.Extreme).
  8. Right behind you, above the doorway (Easy- E.Extreme).
  9. Behind the Sons Of Liberty flag to the left of the strut ahead (Hard-E.Extreme).
  10. Right amongst some seagulls- they can be scared off by a warning shot (Hard-E.Extreme).
  11. Go down the stairs a tiny bit and look towards the bottom right (Extreme & E.Extreme)
  12. Lower bridge section, front left (Extreme & E.Extreme).
  13. To the far left of the entrance to the strut ahead (E.Extreme).
  14. On top of a second Cypher hovering above the Strut ahead (E.Extreme).
The Nikita/President Puzzling...Puzzle- Stand on the crate at the bottom of Shell 2 core, 1F Air Purification and face the hole in the wall. Fire a Nikita and press and hold R2. Use the D-Pad (for better control then the left analogue stick) to drive the Nikita to the right, avoiding the walls. When it emerges, head for the far-right corner, avoid the President, then drive it into the box with 'Danger' written on it. (HINT: If you tap against the outside wall to the cell near to the President, you'll drive him away from the electrical box, giving you a clearer target).

Emma Emmerich's Bug Boggle- Emma's afraid of the bugs, so either spray Coolant on the bugs to make them scatter, or be cruel and get her in a chokehold and drag her through, and if you're really cruel (like so cruel that the Marquis De Sade wouldn't want you to be his sadist), you can beat her up and drag her through! (If you do so, then I'm not letting you babysit!)

Emma Emmerich's Bridge Bugger (ooh, naughty!)- In this bit, Emma walks along the bridge and you stay put, but you have to clear the way for her. First, take a pentazemin and equip your infrared goggles, arm yourself with the PSG-1 or PSG-1T to take out the 2 guards on the opposite column, then shoot the bombs (which are invisible to normal view, but not when wearing the goggles) before Emma treds on them. Head right ahead of her and take out further bombs, guards and Cyphers (be sure to check on Emma though- reserve guards could reappear). Don't worry about running out of PSG ammo-simply disarm it and you should find another pack of ammo next to you! Then finally, take out Vamp with headshots (save a pentazemin or 2 for this. It'll only take 1 headshot in Very Easy, but it'll take 4 shots in the other modes). Don't worry if Emma is hit, sadly this is part of the story and is inevitable :'o( just don't kill her yourself.

The Torture Puzzle- In Arsenal Gear, Solidus will choke you. To survive, it's pretty simple really, just keep hammering Triangle, or press+hold it to be released.

Get Your Kit On!- After the torture puzzle, you're pretty much left 'in the nude' (stop screaming fangirls! Raiden isn't that sexy...think about Jin or Bob or Dr Boskonovitch). But back to the puzzle, you head through to the Arsenal Gear's jejunum, then behind the guards back, move to the stairs on the right. Then avoid the guard near you by crossing the bridge behind his back. Pick up the Cardboard box in the lower left of the level. Then move up behind the crate nearest the middle bridge. When the coast is clear on the other side of the bridge, walk across it and head towards the upper-right of the jejunum. You'll see a passageway leading to a door, so go down the passageway and through the door. The Colonel will keep calling you on the Codec with strange messages during this (messages such as 'I hear the famous purple-stuffed worm with the tuning fork does a mean raw blink on hara-kiri rock. I need scissors! 61!'), so ignore the Codec calls until you make it out of the jejunum.

15 Things To Keep Simple Minds Occupied.
Some of these have been mentioned previous, but if you don't really care and you bought the game for fun rather then the joy of sneaking behind guard's back and holding them up for dog tags, then here's 15 enjoyable things for you to do.

  1. Girls Girls Girls!- In Deck-A, Crew Quarters in the Tanker, leave a door open to reveal a kinky poster ( ':oD ), then coax a guard to go looking for you and watch him lose interest in finding you and gain in staring at the poster. Or lean forward and kiss the poster(!) and give Otacon a call so he can tell you off for...well, what else would he tell you off for? hiding inside a locker? or hiding inside a locker and smooching a poster of a woman in a bikini?
  2. Shooting Range- In Deck-A, Crew's Lounge, Starboard (Tanker), shoot the pipes in the ceiling, or shoot the magazine rack (shoot the white issue of 'Jason' to reveal what look likes a naughty picture...again!), or the bottles, ice bucket or TV!
  3. Funny Engine Room...Fun- Shoot the Raven toy to experience the reminiscent joys of MGS1, or open the first locker on the left for a gruesome surprise. Then, in the main part of the Engine room (on the right hand side, where you start off), take a shortcut to the left to avoid the guards by shimmying along the wire that's on the top level. Easy? well, yes, but only if you've built up your grip gauge level first (the 100 pull-ups, remember?).
  4. They're Coming To Take Me Away! Ah-ha ah-haaa!- Let Snake get spotted by the Marines in the Holds during Scott Dolph's speech for a cutscene of him being carried away. Not much if you prefer shooting action though...
  5. Gillette! The Best A Man Can Get! (or is that a...erm, nevermind)- On the right of the Strut A, Deep Sea Dock in the Plant level, hang from the railing in the water, move right and climb up until you can get a little object, this will be a Shaver! Give it to Snake (or Pliskin, whatever) on the Strut B. First floor and he'll have a shave.
  6. Hahaha! heeheehee! Hohoho- In the Strut A, Pump Facility Node, enter your name or something stupid (or obscene) and a cutscene at the end will reveal your name on Raiden's dog tag.
  7. Hahaha! heehee-huh? wait a min- On the Strut A, Roof, run on areas covering in bird poo and you should slip over it! (not as funny as the banana skin gag mind).
  8. Beep! Beep!- Play the game with a regular controller (one without vibration...sorry to the desperate people) and the Anti-Personnel Sensor should now beep! It'll beep faster when enemies get closer and closer. It's more precise and useful then the vibration method.
  9. Those Naughty Magazines hidden in those brown envelopes...- If you remember how you got the bomb in the Strut F, Warehouse? (if not, then read the puzzle section) well, you do the same to get the magazine on top of the box! (i.e. jump down from the level above). You can't see the mag, but the guards can! Leave one lying around and watch them become engrossed by it. Sadly, you can only use the mag once. There's another on top of the lockers in the Shell 1 Core, B2 level though. Kick the locker to shake it down.
  10. Easter Egg statues- You'll have to look really hard to find them. One is under a computer in the Shell 1 Core B2 Computer Room (a computer in a Computer Room? Those sick puppies!), and the other is in a cupboard in the room where you meet Otacon's ickle sister, Emma.
  11. Fire! Fire! hehehehehehehehe-  In the Shell 2 Core (man, that place is a big barrel of laughs!), you are confronted with an electric floor trap (oh bugger!) that you can throw things on and watch them fry! Grenades and ammo clips will go off, and paper objects like magazines and boxes will catch fire. Cool (well, hot actually).
  12. #Here come the Men In Pants!#- Complete the game once, then play it again. When you get to Hold 3 of the Tanker, all the Marines will be in their boxer shorts and nothing else! I would complain, but it makes things equal with the countless amounts of naughty mags and FHM posters.
  13. YEE-HAW! It's yer good ol' pal Ocelot!- In the Hold 3 Area of the Tanker, on the upper level, go behind Metal Gear (climbing on the railing) and you should be able to see your dear gunslingin' friend waiting to pounce. Though he'll disappear once you look away.
  14. (placing glass cup to the side of the wall) what's going on in there?- In the section where you're listening to Ocelot, Olga and Solidus with the D-Mic, turn around to the left to hear a soldier whinging about how he's having a really crappy time! (boohoohoo, you'll probably be killing them soon enough anyway, then they'll be having a REAALY bad day then!) On recent note, this soldier will be Johnny Sasaki, the guard with the stomach problems in MGS- you'll encounter him again when Emma walks along the Oil Fence bridge- keep your D.Mic focused on the second pillar when Emma reaches it.
  15. Hideo Kojima? what are you doing here?- Take a picture of the screen on the right in the Hold 2 Tanker area and you'll get a ghost image (like in MGS1). Look at it later and you can see the man who came up with Metal Gear in the first place (being Hideo Kojima of course).

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (PS2, X-Box).

(Note: All MGS2 cheats apply to this game as well, so you won't need to bother with too many new tricks within the game- though the missions section in it has its perks...)

Control intermission sequences
Like the Codec transmissions, you can press L1 or R1 (or simply L & R for X-Box owners) to zoom in during an intermission. The harder you press, the more the zoom. While holding the button, use the Right Analogue-stick to move the view. Also during certain parts of some intermissions are sections where it looks like you are viewing the scene through a camera or binoculars. You can use the zoom feature with these as well, and the onscreen distance or zoom indicators will increase realistically the more you zoom in. This also can be done at the beginning of the game, before pressing Start.

Photograph mode

Successfully complete 100% of the VR missions and Alternative Missions as Raiden and Ninja Raiden.
Note: Raiden X only has 1 VR Mission within 'Streaking mode'.

Iroquois Pliskin
Successfully complete 50% of the VR missions and/or Alternative Missions as Snake.
Note: Pliskin's prime weapon is the M4 rifle, bombs will explode if you get within 2 metres of them in Bomb Disposal, and within weapon missions the targets will randomly appear and disappear- this also happens with Tuxedo and MGS1 Snake in their weapons missions.

Tuxedo Snake ('Bond' Snake)
Successfully complete 100% of the VR missions and Alternative Missions as Snake and Pliskin.
Note: This Snake has a Bond-esque theme during his VR Missions.

Metal Gear Solid 1 Snake

Raiden, Ninja Raiden, and Raiden X.
Note: This Snake has remixes of the original 'Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions/Integral' tunes within his VR mission soundtracks. The targets in weapons modes will also move faster, as will guards. Ammo will also be dramatically reduced. More or less, this is the hardest character to learn.

Alternate ending sequence
Successfully complete a Snake Tale to unlock the M9. Begin game play and use M9 to stun the Bosses instead of killing them to view an alternate ending sequence.

Waking A Guard With Ninja Raiden.
Ninja Raiden only has one weapon- the H.F Blade. So you can't exactly wake an opponent up too easily....or can you? Aside from punching the guard's head, if you thrust your H.F Blade at the guard's head, he'll wake up- from there you can do what you wish with him.

Elimination Mode Made Easier.
Hold up an enemy with a weapon to freeze them in position- then from there you can take them out by any means, whether shooting them in the head with the SOCOM/USP or M9, or (saving on ammo), getting them in the chokehold and snapping their necks.

Quicking your pace.
As Ninja Raiden, or Raiden with the HF Blade in general, if you do a right vertical slice and hold it in that position, without reverting to the original sword stance, you'll be able to run quicker rather then creeping about slowly.

GURLUGON!!!
Godzilla's latest enemy?? Nope, just simply an oversized enemy guard (so close to being Godzilla's latest enemy). To defeat Gurlugon usually, you strike his target areas with the stinger and then you'll see a blue thing swarming around the area. Equip your AK and shoot at it. It'll get increasingly smaller, complicating matters, but once you smash it and repeat this technique with his other targets he'll be defeated.

SON OF GURLUGON!!
Well, not really, just an alternative and more easier way to defeat Gurlugon. When you reach him during Raiden's Variety missions, hide behind the tall box on the left closest to Gurlugon. When the box is destroyed, a magazine will appear and for some reason this makes Gurlugon go crazy and kill himself. This'll count as a victory in your VR Missions.

Why do Gurlugons fall in love?
This won't help you get further, or count as a success in your mission, but it's very funny. When you reach Gurlugon, equip the enemy uniform and AK, then let Gurlugon attack you. Before his full attack strikes, an exclamation mark will appear above his head, which will then change into a heart. He picks a struggling Raiden up and carries him off to love music. Remember, this will count as a failure in your mission....but then it's funny too ^^

Ultimate Substance Missions Cheat.
Save a file of the practice VR Missions on the Document of MGS2 disc- whether or not you completed all 5 practice missions- then make a new load profile on Missions. From there on, the 5 secret characters, secret modes and ability to choose any mission should be available to you. This'll only work if you have the disc of the Document of Metal Gear Solid 2.

Grand Theft Auto III (PS2).

Drive-By Shooting.
Simple technique. Equip the Uzi when entering a car, then hold R2 or L2 (depending on which side you wanna fire from) and press Circle to let the bullets fly!

I Fought The Law, and I Won!
To evade the long, doughnut sugar-coated arm of the law, there are a handful of techniques. When your felony level is low, simply find a remote location, such as a hideout, and hang there until police interest wanes. If your felont level is high, you'll have to collect as many Police Badges as possible to bribe cops- or alternatively get your car resprayed.

Superdrug!
Through the game, you'll get pill-shaped pick-up's. When you take these, they'll dramatically increase your strength, allowing you to strike opponents 20ft into the air! Time also slows down under the effect of these drugs. The strangest influence I've seen from drugs anyway.

Bonus Buggy.
Complete all the Mafia missions and you'll unlock the buggy that Joey was working on in the garade. To get it, simply go to the parking lot where the mission phone is located in Portland between the hours of 19:00 to 24:00, where it'll be sitting by there, waiting for you.

Extra Weapons.
By picking up numerous hidden packages around Liberty City, you'll unlock weapons which will always be available outside your hideout.

Packages.
Weapon.
10. Pistol.
20. Uzi.
30. Grenades.
40. Shotgun.
50. Armour.
60. Molotov Cocktail.
70. AK-47.
80. Sniper Rifle.
90. M16 or Flamethrower.
100. Rocket Launcher.

Tank Program.
If you act too naughty in the game- chances are even the Army will be called out to take you out, bringing in some tanks...(you can probably get what I'm talking about now!). Take out as many infantrymen as possible and then steal the Tank. You can then save it in your garage and use it in harder missions later- though you can only fit the tank in your Staunton Island lock-up. It comes with infinite grenade amounts and can withstand a large amount of damage.

Flamethrower.
Ok, don't wanna do the fire engine mission? and you haven't got 90 packages yet? Here's an extra way to get the flamethrower. Drive from your Portland hideout, drive to the end of the road on your left and then turn around and drive on the grass under the monorail tracks. On the left part of grass, you'll find a concrete ramp. Use this to jump onto the monorail tracks. Drive along these- or better yet between them in case of passing trains, and you'll come across a glowing object on your right- this'll be the flamethrower. Park on the ledge beneath it and then jump on your car to reach it. Save your game and you'll be able to keep this deadly device. Though how you get down from the monorail is your problem!

Getting The Fastest Car.
Go to the Capital Auto's store in Portland and ram the big window in the front of the store. Then just walk inside and find the fastest car in the store- waiting and ready to be stolen. Save it in your garage for later use.

Remote-Control Car Bombs.
Near Tony's place in Portland is an alley with a 'Toyz' van parked down it. Get in the van and you'll embark on a mini-game where you have to destroy Mafia cars with bomb-carrying remote-controlled cars.

Extra Vehicle Missions.
When in a Taxi, Ambulance, Fire Engine or Legal Forces Car (Police Car, FBI car, Enforcer and Rhino tanks)- press the right analogue stick inwards and be treated to an array of missions- or you'll be paged on some extra missions during a normal mission in the case of other vehicles (such as an emergency crane and a wider range of vehicles including an ice cream van). Here are those missions...

Taxi Mission.
Taxi's are very common- no doubt you'll end up nicking one of these. This has a kinda 'Crazy Taxi' element to it. You have to ferry as many passengers as possible. They'll show up on your radar as green dots, and you'll know when you reach them, as they'll have blue arrows pointing at their heads. Just stop next to them and they'll get in. Take them to wherever they want and you'll recieve some easy money. Aside from the money, if you recieve 100 fares, you'll unlock a faster taxi called the Borgnine in the Harwood area (reference to Ernest Borgnine's cab driver character in Escape From New York perhaps?).

Ambulance Mission.
Harder to find then taxi's- but also a delight. Like the taxi missions, you have to drive around the city searching for patients to take to the hospitals. They'll appear as green dots, and they'll have blue arrows pointing at their heads when you find them. Drive carefully when you recieve a patient though or otherwise the patient will die, and then dump them off at hospital. When you successfully take 50 patients, a couple of health power ups will be added to your hideouts- but take 100 patients and you'll gain an adrenaline pill. Best of all, complete the 16th ambulance level and you'll gain infinite run power!! No more tired panting and wheezing! Bonus!!!

Fire Engine Mission.
Pretty common vehicle. When you find one, your mission on hijacking it will be to drive around the city and find burning vehicles- and put out the fire in a limited amount of time. The burning vehicles are easy to find through radar, and dousing the flames is just a habit of pressing the Circle button. If you want, you can also press in your left analogue stick to activate the siren. You'll double your money for each consecutive fire you put out, and also- put out 30 fires in each district (that's 90 fires in all) and you'll unlock the flame thrower weapon, which'll be in your hideout.

Vigilante Mission.
These missions are available from a police car, FBI Car, Enforcer or Rhino tank. Your mission is to find and kill criminals within a time limit. When they're driving around, you'll have to give chase and ram them off the road, or get out from the car and shoot them to bits. If they get out of their car, then it's a simple case of mowing them down in your set of wheels. You'll gain 2 Police bribes after killing 40 criminals in each district (120 in all).

Emergency Crane Mission.
At some point during your normal mission, you'll be paged through your pager- informing you that a crance in Portland harbour will pick up emergency vehicles in return for some lovely money. You need to pick up and deliver police cars, ambulances, fire engines, Enforcers, FBI car, Barracks OL and a tank. Take each of these vehicles to the ship closest to the beach at the Portland docks and you'll see a crane near a stack of containers next to the ship. Simply park nearby, get out of your vehicle, and watch it all go bye-bye. You'll be awarded $1,500 per vehicle, and you'll recieve an extra $200,000 and 7 GTA-pick ups for delivering all 7 vehicles. You can use any of these pick-ups to get a vehicle of your choice- handy for harder missions, and will help in nicking the Tank (see 'Tank Program').

Import/Export Garage Mission.
Again, during your normal mission, you'll get another page message through your pager telling you that a garage in Portland Harbour will pay out for the delivery of certain vehicles such as a Coach, Flatbed, Linerunner, Dust Cart, Patriot, Ice Cream Van, Blista, Mule, Yankee, Bobcat, Bus, Rumpo, Pony, Moonbeam, Securicar and Dodo car. Once you get one of these vehicles, drive it to the harbour via the main road and then go down the alley. You'll see a blue garage door with a list of cars posted to the left. Park the vehicles there to recieve more dough. Deliver all the vehicles and you'll get a large $200,000 and 16 GTA-pick ups, which'll help you nick a vehicle of your choice.
