Gabumon is a loyal and shy digimon who will do anything possible to provide Yamato with happiness. He is there to help Yamato with all his angst throughout Season 01 and in Season 02 he helps the new digimon with all their tasks. He is amazing in the fact that he brought down the walls that surrounded Yamato and turned him into a normal teenager. Gabumon is sweet and brave. He would do anything for his friends, even fighting other friends. All of this definitely earns him the crest of friendship in all its glory.
