Soi is
the fourth of the Seiryuu Seishi to appear. She saves Suboshi from being
killed by Tamahome in Tamahome’s home village, by lashing out with lightning
when Tamahome was about to kill Suboshi. She was cloaked so the Suzaku
seishi didn't know she was a young woman. Later, Soi tries to prevent Suzaku
No Miko, Miaka, and the Suzaku Seishi from completing their journey to
Hokkan by creating a huge storm and destroying their ship.
Soi is a very
brave and a powerful warrior since she can control and manipulate lightnening.
She will do anything for Nakago, who she is deeply in love with. She is
so blinded by this utter devotion she doesn't see that Nakago is only using
her
like he does everyone else. Soi doesn't have any hatred for the Suzaku
Seishi or their miko but rather admires Miaka's and Tamahome's love for
each other. She's jealous that their love is so strong and she wants the
same thing with Nakago.
She is brave
and is willing to work extremely hard for what she wants. She is skilled
in battle, being very strong, agile, and good at fighting. Soi is also
quite intelligent and knows how to find the best stragetic point in a battle.
Soi is dedicated and faithful, she will willingly help others even if it
puts her own life at risk. Soi died saving Nakago when Tasuki threw a sword
at Nakago and Soi stood in the way. She expressed her love for him verbally
before she dies but Nakago didn't know how to handle this, only stared
as she died.
Soi experienced
a dreadful childhood. She was sold to a brothel as a prostitute by her
family. When Soi was eleven years old, she attempted to run away. When
Soi was caught and about to be beaten, the little girl was saved by the
17 year old Nakago. Nakago attacked the man about to administer the beating,
and then left Soi alone. Soi fell in love with him that instant, and became
determined to win his love in return. Nakago didn't' know she was
seishi but they met later when Yui became the Seiryuu no miko and all the
Seiryuu seishi was drawn towards her. Soi doesn't like Yui because she
is competing for Nakago's affection but really there are no affections
to compete for. Nakago goes on using them both of them for his own purpose.
***I rather liked Soi because she's
so cool as a warrior. I didn't like when she died. Dumb Nakago!!
