#01 Sakura and the Mysterious Magic Book

Kinomoto Sakura has a strange dream: A bell chimes...Sakura sees a strange winged beast on the cover of a book which is named "The Clow".
She finds herself standing in front of the Tokyo tower clad in a strange costume with a yellow creature hovering in the air beside her. Cards are floating and flying all around her.
She jumps from the building that she has been standing on...Suddenly, the alarm clock rings and Sakura is woken up. She quickly dresses herself up in order to get ready for school. As she hops down for breakfast, her brother, Touya, claims that her footsteps sounds like a monster. Sakura gets furious and wishes that one day, she will be as tall as a giant and stamp her huge foot on her brother. She is eating her breakfast happily when her brother gets up to go to school.
Sakura immediately gobbles up her food, straps her roller blades and speeds off. She finally catches up with Touya who asks her why she must come with him. The answer appears in her mind when Yukito, Touya's best friend, appears in a distance away. Sakura has a crush on Yukito. She keeps eyeing Yukito. When Sakura reaches Tomoeda Elementry School, Yukito threw her a sweet. Sakura's best friend, Tomoyo came up behind Sakura and remarks on the present. Tomoyo is a camera whiz and likes video-taping Sakura. She asks if she can tape Sakura the next day as she is so "kawaii"(cute).
During class, Sakura daydreams about the peculiar dream she had. In her notes, she draws a picture of the yellow winged creature she saw before. Tomoyo asks her about it but Sakura is called to read from the book which they are reading in class.
At cheerleading practice, Sakura impresses everyone with her backflips. As the cheerleaders practice throwing their batons in the air and catching them, Sakura's baton took form in a strange looking staff. Sakura stares at it and the baton hits her head.
When Sakura arrived home, no one was at home. Sakura thinks she heard a strange noise, but she pays no attention to it. As she reaches for a pudding in the kitchen, she hears the strange noise again.
Sakura is so frightened; she arms herself wit the baton and goes to her father's library(the basement) to check it out. Suddenly, a book on the bookshelf starts to glow before her very eyes. She pulls the book off the shelf and finds that it is the very same book(The Clow) in her dream. The latch snaps open and Sakura opens the book.
Inside are a deck of cards, with different names and pictures. She picks up the first card and tries to read it out.
As she reads it out(The Windy), the cards begains to glow and a gust of wind scatters all the cards away; the cards vanish through the ceilings and walls. After all the chaos, Sakura drops to the ground, still holding the book and the card.
After a while, the book begains to glow again and a small, yellow winged creature rises from it. 
The creature opens its eyes and exclaims,"Konyanyachiwa!!" Sakura is very surprised and thinks it is operated by batteries. The creature introduces itself as the guardian of the Clow Cards and is named Kerberos/Cerberos. He has been asleep for about thirty years and thanks Sakura for waking him up. When Kero-chan looks into the book, he freaks out(no cards!). Sakura begin explaining to him that the cards are scattered, Kero-chan keeps agreeing until he realises what has happened. That night, Sakura ate extremely fast and brought up a pudding for Kero. She asked Kero whether he could locate the scattered cards. However, Kero could not locate the cards. He started to explain the cards to Sakura. The cards are called Clow Cards, which are named after a powerful magician who created these cards. They are all alive and if not captured, will wreak havoc. He then made Sakura to collect the staff. Cardcaptor Sakura is born!
Sakura suddenly protested when she realised that she has become a Cardcaptor.
