~I was starrin’ at the sky

Duo sits at the table across from Heero looking at him longingly, and trying to give him hints of what he wants. But Heeros’ attention remains at another at the table, although Duo could never tell whom. He tries to play footsie under the table, but Heero just glares at him.

~I was having a sweat fix
Of a daydream of a boy
Whose reality I knew, was as hopeless to be had~

Duo dreamed that night of wonderful sex with Heero, leaving him hard in the morning. He took an ice cold shower, and went to work on his gundam or something. He didn’t notice the pair of eyes that watched him go.

~But then the dove of hope began its downward slope
And I believed for a moment
That my chances were approaching to be grabbed
But as it came down, near
So did a weary tear
I thought it was a bird, but it was just a paper bag~

Was Duo imagining things? Heero was looking and him forlornly, HIM! Oh god! Was Heero just being the perfect solider before and couldn’t take it anymore? It was too good to be true! Wait, his gaze wasn’t on him, it was on… Duo looked behind him, it was on Trowa. It was truly too good to be true.

But I want him so bad I would kill
But I know I’m so messy, don’t wanna clean up

These hands are too shaky to hold

Duo couldn’t sleep. He was thinking about Heero and Trowa. Were they lovers? Or was Heero too shy to approach him yet. Duos’ heart hurt like crazy. There was a wieght on the bed a moment later. Wufei sat on the edge of his bed and asked, “What’s wrong Duo?”

Duo told him and Wufei smiled, “Well, then tell him, before Trowa gets to him first.”

~And I went crazy again today
Lookin’ for a strand to climb

Duo pulled Heero aside the next day while they were working. Duo tried to kiss him, talk him into a kiss, using every method he knew. But still Heero would not kiss him, finally telling Duo that he would never kiss him. Leaving Duo in shock for a moment.

~I said honey I don’t feel so good
Don’t feel justified
C’mon put a little love here in my void
He said it’s all in your head
And I said so’s everything
But he didn’t get it
I thought he was a man
But he was just a little boy~

Duo hands clenched into fist and he punched Heero harder than he ever had anyone, sending Heero staggering to the side. Heero rubbed his face and looked at Duo, preparing to send his own punch at Duo. But he stopped, seeing steams of tears flowing down his face. Duo stocked off, his entire body tense and his shoulders hunched.

“Nice going, Yuy,” Wufei said as he went after Duo, Heero just stared at him as he went.

Duo sat under a tree, his knees hugged tightly to his chest. Wufei came up to Duo and knelt down to him. He soothed Duos’ sobs and cries. When Duo finally stopped and looked up from his crying, he found Wufeis’ caring eyes, why hadn’t he seen them before? He reached up and touched Wufeis’ caramel cheek lightly, Wufei smiled at him.

The next morning Duo walked out and wrapped his arms around a sleepy Wufei, setting his head on his shoulder. Heero looked shocked for only a moment, had Duo gotten over him THAT quickly. Well, life’s life, he needed to get after Trowa…
