Chapter 3

The next morning Duo went to see the Lady, “What do you need Duo Shinigami?”

“I need to know something about soultwins,” he said fidgeting.

“What do you need to know?”

“If you’ve met your, and you’ve changed, but he or she hasn’t, what will happen?”

“Well, it could force an early Changing if you bond, and that would promote the dragonsoul to not take their vows. Why do you ask?”

“I’ve found mine.”

“Little one, you’ve hardly met anyone outside Dragonskeep, how could you have found her?”

“Not her, him, Wufei.”

The Lady stared for a second, but upon seeing the dead seriousness, rethought dismissing him for foolishness. “Why do you think so?” She leaned back in her chair.

“The way myself and Shinigami react when he’s around, plus Shinigami warned my to stay away from him till his changing.”

“So he is a fledgling and your soultwin!” The Lady was astounded, “Never has such a pairing been made!”

“In this world, no, in ours, yes.”

She sighed, he was right, different worlds, different twinnings, “May I ask why you cannot just be happy being with him?”

“Because, just being near him makes me want to bond with him. Do anything to break my holds, and each time I’m close to Wufei, Shinigami’s restraints weaken.”

“Then I shall talk to the others to keep you from Wufei, and so that he will not know. We will do our best.”

“Thank you,” and he left for the library, he stayed there till midnight, then went to his chambers.

The Lady had spoken with the other Dragonlords. They all excepted it, if they weren’t a bit appalled at first, but understood the fact of different worlds, different ways, so they excepted it and began to plan how to keep the two apart. One of them would be with Wufei and Duo at all times. They would keep the two apart, generally. They would let them meet, but when the strain seemed too much on Duo, they would ask him away. They explained it to Duo, he except. He didn’t seem to want to do much of anything, he was depressed in every way they could think of.

Lleld took the first day. She tried everything to get him cheered up. She even offered a joke on Tarlna! But nothing worked. He just wanted to sit in his room or in the library and do little to nothing. Wufei visited once, Duo hugged him then pulled back at the surprised look on his face. They talked for a long time, a joyus look entering his eyes. But then Shinigami began to break, with a worried glance at Lleld, she ushered him off to the Lady. Wufei frowned at their departure, but let them go without a qualm.

They were able to sustain this for about two weeks, then Wufei’s temper got the better of him. He stormed into the library while Linen had gone for some snacks. The minute Wufei came Duo mind spoke to Linden to come quick. He gripped the arms of the chair he sat in for dear life as Wufei spoke.

“Why are you avoiding me?!” Wufei asked in aggravation.

“I don’t know what you mean,” Duo said roughly.

“You know perfectly well what I mean! I barely ever talk to you any more because you lock yourself in either your room or this library constantly, and someone always shoos you away when we’re talking. Why th—Duo wha--!”

Duo couldn’t stand it. Just hearing his voice threw Shinigami reeling into a fit of needy fury. Duo tackled Wufei in less than a second, holding his wrists to the ground, not caring for the nails that Wufei dug into him and ignoring the loud curses Wufei said as he tried to kick Duo off of him. Without warning, Duo began to brutally kiss Wufei. Wufei whined and whimpered as his lips were bruised and cut by Duo’s teeth. A thin trail of blood flowed down from Wufei’s mouth to show for it. Then suddenly, Duo was torn off of Wufei by Linden, Kief and Kelder. Duo screeched in fury as Wufei scrambled back, frightened by both the kiss and by Duo’s barbaric anger.

“Run Wufei! Go to the Lady, she will explain,” Linden said as he almost lost his grip on Duo.

Wufei nodded numbly and raced from the room. As Duo took control again, tears rolled down his cheeks as he tasted Wufei’s blood on his lips and growled as he realized what he and Shinigami both made to do. “Is he okay?” He asked.

“Yes, are you in control?” Kief asked, his hold on Duo still strong.

“Yeah, I’m okay know, I think I’ll go lock myself in my room now,” and he did just that.

Wufei wiped the thin trail of blood from his mouth as he ran to the Lady’s chambers. He had to know what was happening. Why would Duo kiss him like that, why would he kiss him at all! He reached he chamber and banged the door open without warning. The Lady jumped then settled back into her chair, Tarlna beside her, “What is it you need, Wufei?”

“Duo, what’s wrong with him?” Wufei said breathless.

“Duo couldn’t hold himself could?” She said, looking at the blood that smeared his lips, “Alright, I guess we have to tell you know. You are Duo’s soultwin. Since Duo told me that Shinigami warned him to stay away from you, we had to keep you two apart as much as possible. For some reason, Shinigami and Duo aren’t satisfied with just being with you, as we are. But every time he’s even near you, he feels the overpowering need to bond with you. You must stay clear of him, please Wufei, your sake and his own.”

Wufei swallowed, he knew the implication being Duo’s soultwin. He was a fledgling, or Duo was bound to a truehuman. Although it was highly improbable, it was possible. Wufei sighed then, “So, I can’t even say Hi to him in the hall?”

“No, if you see him before he sees you, run.”

“Okay,” Wufei felt numb as he left and went to his chambers.

He laid down quietly on his bed and fell asleep, happy for the release.

“Duo, you can’t stay in there forever,” Maurynna said as she leaned against the door, Duo had locked himself in there about five days ago.

Wufei had come by to see how he was twice a day, “I can, and I will,” Duo retorted.

“Duo, please, this isn’t solving anything.”

“Yes it is, it’s keeping me away from Wufei.”

“That was an accident, the least you can do is let me, Maurynna, in!” The door cracked open.

She stepped in and found Duo at the balcony door. The doors were closed and Duo looked out them longingly, “Why don’t you go out if you want to so badly?”

“Fei’s down there,” Duo said, one hand touching the glass, “Right now this door is the only thing keeping me from him.”

“O-kay! Let’s think about other things, kay,” Maurynna offered.

“How?”

“BOOKS!”

“Fei loves books…”

“Sleep!”

“Fei looks so much like an angel when he sleeps…”

“Food!”

“He looks so beautiful when he’s eating noodles,” Duo shivered.

“Clothes!”

“You should see him without his shirt on…”

“Gifnu’s Hells! Is there nothing that doesn’t pertain to Wufei?”

“No.”

“I give up!”

Linden walked in chuckling, “I know how you feel, Duo. I went through the same ordeal with Maurynna.”

“Thank God, someone I can relate to!” Duo said sounding relieved.

“Don’t worry, I’ll help you through it,” Linden sat down in a chair and Maurynna left, mumbling about men and their insecurity.

Duo collapsed onto the bed and rolled onto his stomach, sighing heavily.

Allias? The Lady said as she ‘threw her mind to the wind’.

Yes, my Lady? Came the quiet answer.

How far are you from Dragonskeep?

About one month, why?

Duo has changed, and he has to contain himself from his soultwin. We have to get them back to their world, or see if you can find out when Wufei is going to change, for Duo’s sake.

I move as fast as I can, my Lady. And the voice faded away.

The Lady sighed thankfully and looked at Wufei wear he spoke to some of the kirs children.

Wufei stared at the cliff almost longingly, he wanted so much to just dive off it. But he knew he couldn’t do it, it would kill him. But, oh, how he longed. He looked down at the little kirs that were attempting to form the tiny strings into a patterned bracelet. Then he dropped the string he held, a voice, who was this voice?

W-who are you? He asked in his mind.

/*I am Xunto [1], thees dragonsoul. Jump off the cliff, it will free much.*/

No, I can’t. It will kill me!

/*It will start the Changing! Jump, I will catch thee.*/

Vows, say your vows!

Xunto sent a sense of nodding, /*I vow, humansoul Chang Wufei, I vow never to kill thee, and not to harm if it is possible. I vow to remain dormant till thees death of the weariness, and I vow to answer these questions and obey thee unless it will do no good to the mother earth.*/

Wufei staggered over to the cliffs edge, the children kirs followed worriedly behind. Wufei felt he blood heat with bliss. The wind beat against his face as he smiled. Then he sent himself flying off the edge.

The Lady screamed as she saw Wufei throw himself off the cliff, and raced down the stairs.

Duo starred, slack jawed, then was racing through halls to the cliff at inhuman speed.

Wufei seemed to float, seemed fall, enjoying the wind of the free fall, then it happened, he changed. It was bliss, pure unhindered bliss.

Everyone looked in awe as a large deep green dragon appeared. It was Wufei, in his dragon form. He had the same lithe form as Shinigami, but fairly smaller than his. The deep green scales glinted in the sun. The great black wings beat almost soundlessly in the air as they carried him atop the cliff. The fringe of black and green followed his spine to his wings, stopped, then two sharp wisps appeared on either side of the end of his tail. His claws cut into the stones of the cliff with frightening sharpness. Golden eyes stared down at them studiously, just before he raised his head to the wind and returned to his human form.

“W-was it an early change?” The Lady asked, taking a cautious step forward.

“No, but the sense of a free fall seems to release something, and activate the Changing. Where as you sometimes feel like you’re going insane, for us it is the urge to plummet off a cliff. Now, I belie--,” Wufei was cut off as Duo pulled him into his arms for a hug, then threw him over his shoulder.

As Wufei was carted off, he waved to them with a smile.

Duo opened the door to his chambers, closed and locked it behind him, then threw Wufei onto the bed then was on top of him, kissing him with his need to bond with him. Wufei kissed back with the same fervor, how could he not with Xunto there, edging him on. The kiss would have drawn blood from any normal human, but now that Wufei had changed, he could meet Duo’s questing tongue with just as must force and need. Nimble fingers nearly tore off his shirt, while his own hands tugged off Duo’s.

Finally, Duo pulled back from the fierce kiss and began to run a trail of kisses down Wufei’s neck and bit lightly at his collarbone. Wufei fumbled with Duo’s belt, as he attempted to remove Duo’s pants. After getting those off, and his under wear, Duo removed Wufei’s with much more easy, undoing the black belt and nearly tearing the pants off of Wufei, along under garments [2]. They stopped for a moment, just looking at each other, Wufei looked at Duo above him, and Duo smiled lovingly down at Wufei. Then Duo gently settled down between Wufei’s legs. They became slower in their need, as if the need itself was telling them to take it slow. Duo reached into the dresser beside his bed and pulled out some lotion he had managed to find for when this time came.

He poured a generous amount onto his finger then lowered his head to Wufei’s chest suckle and nip at his nipples. This distracted him enough enter one finger, then another joined the first, then a third. Wufei moaned and thrust back onto them as they hit his prostate. Duo pulled away from Wufei’s chest and poured more lotion over his swollen member, looked up at Wufei reassuringly, then slowly pressed into Wufei. Wufei threw his head back with a groan, the pleasure and pain, all at once, over running him mind, his thoughts, as he thrust against the intruding member, pulling him further into himself.

As Duo entirely seated himself into Wufei, his controls began to break and the need changed again, to a fury of want and need, that waged war against his controls, until he couldn’t take it. Wufei’s only warning that Duo was losing control was a keen whine before he began to thrust with abandon into Wufei. But Wufei didn’t seem to mind, pleasure racked through his body with every thrust, any pain was quickly drowned out by the intense pleasure. They felt as their soul joined together as one at their climaxes. Joining for just a few seconds, then breaking back apart and leaving a permanent bond that joined the two souls of both human and dragon. They lay in the bed afterwards, sated and exhausted from their bonding, and slept well that night.

[1] – It sounds Chinese, I don’t know what it means, so don’t kill if it means somethin’ weird, it just sounds cool! ^o^

[2] – I think the underwear part started to ruin the mood… Ah well!
