With Tenchi's birthday approaching, the girls agree to a truce. But in this household just how long can the peace last? ========================================== Ryoko reclined there on the roof debating what to get. Tenchi's birthday was in two days and she still hadn't come up with any ideas. Well, that wasn't exactly true, but what she _had_ thought of was something she knew she couldn't get away with. "Come on, think. You've got to be able to think of SOMETHING to give Tenchi for his birthday. But why do I have to think of anything? I already _know_ what a man like Tenchi would want from a woman like me. And it certainly isn't a CD like Aeka got him. Yea, he would like that, _if_ he would just loosen up and let it happen. But I know that isn't going to happen. But all he needs is a little persuasion. Oh yea, that would work. Right up until I get arrested from the resident Galaxy Police. Even on this backwater planet that much _persuasion_ is against the law. 'Rape' is what it's call here. I think. Well, the Galaxy Police can be dealt with, no problem. Oh yea, _that_ would make for a wonderful birthday for Tenchi. Besides, even without the Galaxy Police, Aeka sure ain't gonna let it happen. Aeka can be taken care of easily too. Oh, like the Galaxy Police is gonna stand back and let _that_ happen. Like I said, the GP can be dealt with. Even without the GP, that won't work. Remember what Sasami made us promise. No fighting 'til after Tenchi's birthday or we have to spend two weeks on the moon. And whoever starts it has to stay there for a month. What if I just take Tenchi somewhere where nobody'll bother us. The GP would arrest us for kidnapping. ENOUGH WITH THE GP ALREADY!!!" Aeka, who had been sitting on the porch sewing a new outfit for Sasami, was getting tired of hearing Ryoko. She didn't know what the space pirate was going on about, or even why she was yelling when she was only talking to herself. "Could you stop yelling up there! Some of us are trying to enjoy the peace and quiet!" Tenchi walked home with a little more spring in his step than he usually did. In fact, he had been in a better mood the last week than he had in quite a while. Ever since Sasami made the girls at the house agree to that little pact, it had been more peaceful at home than it had ever been since they arrived. He knew it wouldn't last long, but he was going to enjoy it as long as it did. At least it should last for another two days. As he rounded the last bend in the road before his house, he began to hear sounds, disappointingly familiar sounds. He stopped where he was hoping it was just his imagination. Maybe if he just waited, he'll find out it was just his imagination. A loud explosion drove away any hope of that. Tenchi began sprinting towards the house to try to stop Aeka and Ryoko before they cause too much damage. As he got nearer, he could see that there was definitely some kind of fight going on. Not that he could see the actual combat, just the destruction it caused. Also, he could clearly hear Ryoko's distinctive battle cries. When he reached the house, he saw something he wasn't expecting. Huttled near one of the larger trees with terrified expressions were Aeka and Sasami. To either side of them were Azaka and Kamidake who where shielding them with a force-field. This worried Tenchi. If Aeka wasn't the one fighting Ryoko, there could be some real trouble. And looking at the level of damage to the house and surrounding area, whoever she _was_ fighting must be incredibly powerful. Aeka started to say something when Ryoko sailed out from behind the housed and smashed through a couple of trees before she was able to stop herself. As she got up, Tenchi could see that her clothes were all tattered and she was bleeding from several places. An energy bolt came from behind the house and knocked her back down. She got up with a vicious determined expression the likes of which Tenchi had only seen on one or two other occasions. She ignited her energy blade and flew back in the direction she came from while screaming savagely at the top of her lungs. Tenchi grabbed his tenchiken from his schoolbag and started to run to the back of the house to try to help drive off whoever it was that was attacking there. When Tenchi got to the other side of the house, he suddenly stopped in his tracks. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Ryoko was locked in mortal combat with . . . Ryoko. There they were. Two Ryokos. Fighting. They both had their energy blades flashing and both were throwing and dodging energy bolts. And both looked as if they had beaten the hell out of each other, not to mention the surrounding landscape. The tenchiken fell from his fingers as he stood there dumbfounded. After a few moments, the initial shock wore off. "WHAT THE HECK IS GOIN ON HERE ! ! !" Both Ryokos immediately stopped and turned to Tenchi with a sudden expression of panic. After a few moments they both pointed their fingers at each other and exclaimed innocently, "She started it!" ========================================== Send C&C to SteveKatz2@juno.com Story written August 03, 1999 Disclaimer: This story is based on the series "Tenchi Muyo" which was created by Masaki Kajishima and is the property of AIC and Pioneer LDC. These characters are not mine and I admit that I borrowed the characters and locations for this story without their permission. (I even managed to return them before anyone noticed they were missing.) Authors notes: I got the idea for this story when I was reading another fan-fic where one of the characters was arguing with him\herself. (I can't remember who it was or what series it was from. I think it might have been from Ranma 1/2.) In any case, it suddenly occurred to me that if Ryoko ever started arguing with herself, she could LITERALLY get into an argument with herself. And, given her personality, such an argument could get out of hand REALLY fast. C&C will be appreciated (though to what degree depends largely on how polite it is) I'd rather not get any flames, but it's not like I could stop you. (note: this is my first completed fic, so please be kind.)
