The Sailor Ceria Chronicles

Chapter Two-Kagami

Kagami slept late the next morning.  When she woke up, she found Helios outside in his rose garden, praying for people’s dreams.

“Good Morning, Prince Helios.”

“Good Morning Kagami.”

“What are you doing?”

“I am praying for the dreams of the people on Earth.”

“What is that jewel?” she asked, pointing at the Golden Crystal.

“This is the Golden Crystal.  It protects peoples dreams.”

“It looks very powerful.”

“It is… Um… could you tell me more about Ceria, your homeland?” Helios asked, wanting to know more about this visitor.

“Well, Ceria is a beautiful planet.  The sky is a lovely shade of green and so is the ocean.  Blue grasses cover nearly the whole planet, and the same soft, warm breeze is always blowing.  Plants there look different than these beautiful ones you have here.  In times of peace, Ceria has been compared to a heaven.  Especially by our neighboring sister planet, Rioka.”

“And what is Rioka like?” asked Helios.

“Rioka is a beautiful planet with icy blue skies and oceans, much like Ceria.  It is all oceans with one small island.  Atop it is a stone mountain, and at the top there is a palace, where the Royal family lives.  Life on Rioka is very hard and since the are no land plants, the few civilians must harvest water ones.”

“Rioka doesn’t sound that bad.”

“There is very little space for the people of Rioka to live, because their home is almost entirely covered by oceans, so they were looking at Ceria to expand.”

“And then what happened?”

“A planet in our star system, but very far away; Leshia attacked both of us.  Rioka was easily taken, but Ceria is much stronger.  We are currently fighting a desperate battle against those from Leshia.  It is crucial we do not lose.”

“And why is that?”

“When Leshia takes us over, it will not stop.  They will take over all; the whole universe, including your land Elysion.  Leshia’s awful queen, Queen Wikedina rules over people by sending out horrible creatures to kill anyone who opposes her or looks suspicious.  The Rioka royal family is hiding on Ceria, but I heard she ordered her subjects to kill everyone on that planet, to make sure the Royal family dies,” said Kagami.

“That’s awful. So you came here just to escape fighting?”

“Pretty much, I just kinda teleported randomly and ended up here.”

“You know,” said Helios thoughtfully, “There may be a way to defeat Queen Wikedina.”

“There is.”

“How?”

Kagami blushed.  “I’ll tell you when the time is right, Helios; the one who guards people’s dreams.”

Helios looked at Kagami suspiciously.  It didn’t sound like this little girl was just teleporting randomly.  What was the truth?  What were lies?

Kagami looked into the fountain and lightly splashed the water.  She looked up into Helios’ eyes.  “It’s so nice here,” she said.  “Here, with you, in this beautiful land, Elysion.  I wish we could stay like this forever.”

“What exactly do you mean by that?” asked a cautious Helios.

“Oh… nothing,” said Kagami, turning even redder.

Helios didn’t notice.  “If you want, I could take you to meet some Sailor Senshi,” he said.  “They have strong hearts and powers, maybe they could help save Ceria.”

Now is probably the time to tell him, thought Kagami.  But it is so nice, here like this with him.  “Ok, I guess,” Kagami said sadly, “but senshi have already fought her.  It was a useless attempt.  The Princess and her three guardians faced Wikedina head on.  Only the Princess got out alive.”

“Sounds awful,” said Helios, gently putting his arm around Kagami as she started to cry.  “It must have been awful for the princess.”

“It was,” Kagami replied as more tears landed on her gorgeous green dress.  “It was awful.”

“You were the Princess, weren’t you Kagami.”

“Yes, I am the royal princess of Ceria.”

“Kagami?” Helios asked.

“Yea?”

“I’m gonna invite some friends to stay here with us.”

“Sure…” whispered Kagami as she fainted in his arms.
