My first attempt at a song fic.

Juuhachi-gou has returned from inside Cell, Krillin's love for her has been revealed and this is my small contribution to how the pair of them may have started their relationship.

Feb. 2002 Debs-dragon

Juhhachigou flew away from Kami's place with a torrent of thoughts running through her head. Why had that bald guy... what was his name? Krillin? Yes that was it Krillin. Why had Krillin been so nice to her? I mean it wasn't like she hadn't tried to kill him and his friends. She puzzled over the question. Why had he wanted her to become *human*? Try as she might she couldn't figure it out. She flew along aimlessly not knowing where she was headed and not really caring either. So much had happened to her in such a short space of time, she needed to think, to sort out the various events that had occurred, to try to make some sense out of the mess that was her brain.

Krillin flew back to Master Roshi's deep in thought. He felt bad about hogging the wish even though the others had all insisted that it was quite okay with them. He blushed again as he thought of Juuhachigou. He hadn't known she was hiding in the shadows when he made his wish. And the subsequent revelation that he was experiencing feelings for her had only made an uncomfortable situation worse. Now he was sure that he didn't stand a chance. In any case she had flown off and he had no idea where she had gone. He sighed as he realised that he would possibly never see her again.

The time machine rose up into the air and Trunks gave one last wave before disappearing once more back to his own future. Vegeta, Bulma, Gohan and the rest of the group headed back inside the golden dome of Capsule Corp for some refreshments and a chance to catch up on news from the past few weeks. Having all been so caught up with the fight to save the planet the normal everyday lives and activities had been temporarily suspended and now that peace had again descended it was time to catch up, reminisce and plan the future. Krillin scuffed the ground with his foot creating little dust clouds. As much as he enjoyed everyone's company today he just wanted to be alone. Gohan came looking for him.

"Aren't you comming inside with the rest of us Krillin?" he asked quietly.

"No I think I will pass. Im just not in the mood right now Gohan." replied Krillin.

Gohan looked at Krillin, studying the bald man before making further comment and then he chose his words carefully. "Your still thinking about that android girl aren't you?"

Krillin looked sharply up and his cheeks burned red. Why was it that Gohan could see right to the core of his being? He scuffed the ground again. "Yes Gohan, yes I am still thinking of her."

Gohan walked over to him and placed a hand on his arm. "Don't let it get to you Krillin. You did all the right things, if she's too blind to see whats waiting right under her nose for her than she doesn't deserve you."

Krillin stared into the boys eyes and read the sincerity there. "For one so young you sure have a wisdom beyond your years at times Gohan." he said softly.

Gohan just smiled at his friend hoping his words may have brought some sort of calm to the troubled waters of Krillins soul. "Well I am going to head back inside. You going to come in or shall I tell them something?"

Krillin smiled. "Just tell them I had to go and will catch up with them all later on."

"Okay. Bye for now then." Gohan turned and walked back inside the dome.

Krillin was about to fly off and head back to Master Roshi's Island when a small cough alerted him to a presence. He spun around to be confronted by a pair of soft blue eyes. No wonder they had snuck up on him without him sensing their ki. Androids dont have a detectable one. He drew in a sharp breath and cringed back automatically as his body went into fight or flight mode. Fully expecting the young woman to pummel him into the ground he hazarded a peek from behind his shield of arms when no blows landed in the next few seconds. Instead he saw the blonde beauty standing with her hands on her hips, a slightly amused expression on her face and her lips tugging into the resemblance of a smile.

"Believe me if I had wanted to pound you to a pulp I could have done it already." she smirked.

Krillin lowered his defences realising she was right. "So just what is it you want?" he asked miserably not sure if his already bleeding heart could take much more.

"I've been thinking and have drawn several conclusions."

Krillin met her steady gaze and allowed the flame of hope to once more ignite inside.

"But here is not the place to discuss them. Could you... would you meet me at the Galliers restaurant in town tonight at 7pm and then we can talk?" her voice trailed off slightly and her eyes dropped to the ground unable to meet Krillins any longer, the fear of rejection starting to show through the carefully constructed walls she had built.

Krillins heart began to hammer in his chest and he was wondering if his ears were playing up on him. "Did she just ask me out?" he thought to himself.

She sighed. "Of course I can understand it if you dont want to go..."

Krillin cut her off. "Of course I will meet you there. I wouldn't miss it, I would be honoured to, Im not doing anything else..."

"Krillin?"

"Yes?"

"Shut up your babbling."

"Oh errrr.... he he he Okay then"

"See you at 7 ." and Juuhachigou flew off leaving the still stunned Krillin scratching the back of his head and wondering if this had all just been a dream. "Someone pinch me please.." he said, then.. "On second thoughts dont bother. If this is a dream then I don't want to wake up."

The evening was a cool balmy one with just enough breeze to keep things comfortable. Juuhachigou was waiting out the front and the two proceeded to their table making the necessary small talk. Dinner went well and soon enough they reached the coffee stage.

Juuhachigou swallowed and then decided it was now or never. She took the plunge and began to talk.

As she opened up her heart to Krillin so the bald man never moved, never made a sound, just let her tell her story and when she was done he still stayed quiet thinking the words over.

Juuhachigou reached forward & placed her hand on Krillins. "So you see its not that I don't care for you. I do and I am very grateful to you for all you have done for me but I can't fall in love with you as a way of saying thankyou, it wouldn't be right. To do so out of feeling obligated would only create huge obstacles that will eventually get in the way and cause us to end up hating each other."

Krillin stared sadly at her.

She smiled. "Don't look so sad. I would much rather fall in love with Krillin the person..... not Krillin my rescuer."

Krillin stared deep into those oceans of blue and found himself drowning. Clearing his throat he finally found his voice and huskily said " Let me see if I can convince you to fall in love with me then."

Taking Juuhachi's hand Krillin stared into her eyes willing all the love he could muster to come forth and show in his own.

Tears began to prick at the back of his eyelids but he blinked and held them in check. "Juu I don't have much. I live a simple life with not a lot to offer you other than myself and my unconditional love."

Krillin raised his fingers and gently ran his thumb over her lips. She closed her eyes as the strange sensations ran through her body and then fluttered them open as she felt something else. Leaning forward Krillin ever so gently brushed his lips over hers, stealing a chaste kiss. Juu pulled back slightly and fingered her lips, confusion in her eyes.

She moved around the booth seat and pressed closer to Krillin. Sliding her arms around his shoulders she pulled him close to her body.

Krillin allowed his own arms to encircle Juuhachigou's waist and then pulling her closer his lips found their goal and he kissed her with all the passion he held. Finally breaking for much needed air he continued to rain small kisses on her lips, neck and face.

"Juuhachi I want to make you love me for who I am, not for what I have done and if you think you owe me then you are wrong. You owe me nothing."

Krillin continued to ply her with small teasing kisses. "I know Im not much but I will look after you, I would never intentionally hurt you. Oh Juu everything I have, everything I am is yours."

He pulled back and stared at her. Juuhachigou dropped the mask and let her true feelings show through. Krillin read the signs understanding that she was at last seeing him for who he was and not what he had been. As lips touched again he felt the passion returned.

She traced her finger down the line of his jaw and across his lips, all the time her eyes searching his for any sign to doubt that his love was not true. She found none.

"Juu, I will always be here for you whether you need me or not. I couldn't love another the way I do you and I hope that you can find it in your heart to love me as well. I dont care if you aren't fully human or if you have a ton of explosive in you, please just let me have this one moment with you and let me dream then for the rest of my days."

Juu's eyes pooled with moisture. Krillin really did love her. And then she realised that she loved him too. Not because he had saved her, although she was grateful that he had, but he was a sweet honest man who hid nothing from her. He had put his entire soul for her to see and hidden nothing. The tears burst forth as she melted into his warm embrace. "I think I could love you Krillin." she said softly.

Krillin wiped the tears from her face and brought her into a lingering warm kiss. "I will always love you Juu." he returned before claiming her lips once more.
