Genki-tachi suddenly appeared in a dining room.

“Ow!” yelled Hare as he fell onto the table.

“Sorry.”

“Why are we here?!” yelled Genki. “All of a sudden, we appeared here, and I’d like to know why!”

“I’m terrible at introductions today.”

“Huh?” asked Genki.

“Just a sec...”

“Oh!” said Holly. “You’re a fanfiction writer, and in your world, our world is just a TV show!”

“And you brought us here...?” Genki asked.

“I have very little idea. I think I want to protest the ending of the series...”

“Why? What happens to us?” demanded Tiger.

“What happens in the official version is that you lose the Magic Stone to Moo. But you find the Phoenix's body. Then Monol shows up, and he says that the essence of the Phoenix separated into five parts.”

“Wait... Tiger, Golem, Mocchi, Suezo, and I make five,” said Hare.

“Yep. That’s what they do. So, you become the Phoenix, you fight Moo, you’re both presumably destroyed, and Genki gets back to his world.”

“Well, _that_ sucks!” said Holly. “What happens to _me_?!”

“No one says, but I read a pretty good fic where...never mind.”

“Holly’s right! That sucks!” yelled Suezo.

“Yeah!” yelled everyone.

“Darn straight!”

“So... what can we do about this?” asked Holly.

“Not much. I’m still trying to figure out why I wrote this... Oh. I think some people haven’t seen those.”

“Yeah, well, ignorance is bliss,” said Tiger.

“I know... But maybe we’ll make a protest... Aah, I just want people to know. And YOU.”

“Huh?” everyone asked.

“Fanfiction is where you write stories about shows. And, my idea is that they split into an infinity of universes, where anything can happen. Every fic is a new universe.”

“So... everything someone writes changes it,” said Holly.

“Yep. Have you ever read a book and been entranced by it? The universe it creates becomes real to you. So, for you...”

“Maybe it is...” finished Holly and Genki.

“This still has no real point...”

“Ok. Can we go now?” asked Genki.

“Sure.”

“Oh yeah, and miss?” said Holly.

“Mmm-hmm?”

“Please, write something happy...” she said.

“I will,” said the writer softly as they disappeared.
