Star Bunnies!
Kates Zecli awoke bolt upright, her dark brown hair falling around her shoulders in a mix of gold. "Huh? Wassa matter?" a sleepy male voice mumbled. Kates looked at the lump in the silk, tiger striped, sheets. The sheets moved down to reveal the head of Keves Mundi. Keves's hair was black that shined blue, it was cut in what could almost be described as a crew cut, only longer. Keves's eyes, now sharp and alert, shone a brilliant blue-green. His indescribably good looks still present at such an oddball hour. Kates wondered if he'd say the same the same thing about her. Their talking awakened Kates pet, a small furry animal called a "wibble", Ryoko and it gave a puzzled look towards the couple. Ryoko hopped up on the bed and let out a sound suspiciously like a "meow". Kev looked at Ryoko and then at Kates, "Should I be worried?" he asked his voice now low, sexy, and free of sluggish sleep.
Kev looked at Kat and decided she really was beautiful. Her strange glittery skin looked even more beautiful in the moonlight shining through the space-hotels porthole. The stone in the middle of her forehead glowed the deep crimson of garnet. Her milky blue chemise somehow went perfectly with her lovely brown eyes and long brown tresses with the golden streaks. Kev propped himself up on his elbows, the muscles in his chest moving visibly. He put his hand on Kat's shoulder, "Is everything okay Kat?" he asked, "Talk to me!"
"Yea... huh..." she mumbled, "something is amiss... I can't quite place it... a familiar sensation... one I used to know quite well..." She sat a little dazed in the bed and got up, then just stood for a moment. "Put something on Kev, we'll have company in a minute." Kev nodded, he knew not to doubt Kat's psychic abilities, He pulled on his pants hurriedly and grabbed for his laser sword. Kat shook her head, "That won't be necessary." She said.
"But!" he protested.
"But nothing! I said it won't be necessary, and I meant it! Put that human foolery away!" she admonished. Kev gasped audibly as the stone in Kat's forehead blazed a brilliant red and her hair began to blow in an invisible breeze, which was actually her powering up. "Now do you see!? Even if the intruder was dangerous I could easily handle him, no that's not entirely true, he is almost as or in all truth maybe more powerful than I, but not dangerous." She looked at Kev as she "powered down".
Kev nodded and just shrugged, "Ok, who is he?"
Kat just shrugged, "you'll see." She said. The room door started to slide open on its track. A tall lithe man entered. He wore a rather intimidating outfit, all black, a long black robe, black shirt and pants, thigh-high black boots and on his belt hung the grasp of a menacing Electro-saber. The man's eyes shone an amazing blue that was almost that of flame. His cheek-length brown hair had blazing silver streaks in it and Kev could see the glowing blue stone in the man's wrist. In a flurry of glittering skin and flowing robes the man was now sitting in the armchair which had somehow found itself in the middle of the room. He looked expectantly at Kat.
Kat sighed, "Keves, this is my old friend Edwth Sucli, We grew up together on Antooinia. He is a kindred spirit to the fact he has almost identical powers, just on the opposite end of the spectrum. He has the powers of ice as well as his telepathic abilities. Where, as you know, I draw my powers from fire. Edwth, this is my fiancé, a human named Keves Mundi."
Edwth seemed to sneer inwardly but just smiled, "Well, good. As the fair lady has said, I am Edwth, pleased to eye you over," he said.
Kev thought this a little odd but just shrugged, "glad to meet you." He said nonchalantly.
Kat looked at Edwth with narrowed eyes, "I know you well, strange one, now why have you come?" she asked.
Edwth shrugged, "They are going to destroy Antooinia." He said without concern, "I thought you might like to know."
Kat's eyes grew wide in disbelief, "Who?" is all she could manage to spit out.
"The council of elders," said Edwth, "they do not realize the folly of their actions and will soon have the entire planet in an uproar, soon, it will happen."
Kat looked distressed, "What, What did they do?" she asked shakily.
Edwth smiled, "Defied Lord Dragon Master." He said calmly.
"Defied Lord Dragon Master?!?!" Kat exclaimed, "They wouldn't dare!"
"Oh, but they did dare. They did everything but snub him in the nose, if it is a him, they snubbed it in the nose." Edwth said.
Kates shook her head sadly, "I can't believe it, I don't believe they actually did that..." she said.
Edwth sighed "well, believe it, because they did. I dunno… but I came here to find you and bring you back to Antooinia."
Kates looked sadly down at the floor, " I must go."
