It was another cool fall day in Tokyo. However, most people were either in school or at work, unable to enjoy the day. At the Dead Moon Circus tent, everyone was practicing their acts or just fooling around. Everyone except three, who were siting at the bar deciphering over who next target would be.
"How 'bout this one ? asked Tigers Eye.
"No," sighed Fish Eye, "She looks like the best dream she would have is sitting at a desk all day typing some stupid news article."
"Well then you pick, if you're so smart !"
"There aren't any guys here, so it's not my call. Besides, I did the last on,"
replied Fish looking at her nails.
"And you failed," mumbled Tiger.
"Stop arguing you two," Hawks Eye put down his glass and looked at the different photos lying on the counter . "We won't get anywhere by arguing."
"Tiger Eye slammed his glass down on the counter, spilling some of his drink. "If it wasn't for those stupid Sailor Pumpkins, then we wouldn't be having the trouble we're having with Zircornia."
"The Pumpkins just keep us from destroying the targets. The ones we go after don't have Pegasus in their dreams anyway, so what's the difference ?" Hawk took a sip of his orange soda, and then picked up a picture. "Lets try her. What's there to loose ?"
"Our heads could be one thing," Tiger said, "If you want to try that girl then you go right ahead. I won't stop you, but I'm going. She'll just be another failure anyways."
"We're really enthusiastic today," snickered Fish
"Shut-up!!!"
As the two argued agian, Hawks Eye got up and mumbled, "I'm leaving, and behave you two." Like they're even listing to me,he thought

Hawks Eye walked on a path in a park. As he walked, he memorized the looks of the target. Let's see, long hair, glasses and looks like she has blue eyes. If I did my homework right then she usually takes this route home everyday. He looked around for a bench or something else to sit on. What kind of a park doesn't have a bench ? Who cares. I don't want to be here forever, so I'll just sit in a tree. That way I can hopefully see her coming before she passes me. He jumped up onto the second to lowest limb and leaned back against the trunk of the tree

Meanwhile....

"I can't believe how boring school was today," moaned Mina.
"You can't ? I think everyday is boring," replied Lita. The two sailor scouts were walking home together like they do everyday. However. today they both decided to talk the long way through the park since it was such a beautiful day. "Is study buddies still on for tonight ?" " I think so, but I'm not sure if I can make it. I told one of my friends at school that I would go to the championship soccer game with them at three. The game might last a couple of hours," said Mina
"Yeah, and we would be meeting at five"
"Doesn't it just figure ? I'm going to this game and I have loads of homework to do." Mina put her hands behind her head.
"I actualy don't have that much to do tonight; except math. I just don't understand the concept of it."
"Well, I'm sure Ami can help you. She's really good at that stuff. I would help, but I'm in the same boat you're in. I understand it enough to pass, but I don't think I could explain it to you. Sorry."
"That's okay." Lita looked at her surroudings. The trees are so pretty at this time of year, she thought. "Hey, Mina, I think I'm going this way," she said motioning to the path at her right.
"Okay, but you do know that's a longer way, right ?"
"Yeah, I know. I want to look at the scenery though. I love this time of year. I want to enjoy it while it lasts"
"Okay. I wish I could go with you, but I have to get home, change, and get back to the school before two so I can get a good seat."
"Okay, then I'll see you either at study buddies or after school tomorrow." They each went their separate ways, waving bye to the other. Lita walked slowly down the path, holding her school bag with both hands. She saw the lake ahead of her and decided to sit under a tree and get a head start on homework.

Hawks Eye sighed as he viewed the different people. Isn’t she ever going to come? I’ve been waiting here forever! With the luck I’ve been having, I’ll bet she was home sick today. He crossed his arms, then saw a brown haired figure heading his way. He leaned over a bit to see her. Finally! Wait, that’s not her. But it has to be. The girl came over to the tree and sat down leaning against the trunk. She opened her bag and pulled out paper and a pencil. That’s not her. That looks like a schoolgirl. The girl I’m looking for has glasses and is some sort of secretary. I have to admit ,though, she is pretty. This girl caught his attention. He leaned over farther to get a better look at her. Suddenly, he lost his balance and fell over. He landed on the ground with a hard thud.
Lita jumped and looked at the person lying on the ground. He landed about five feet away from her. He lay there motionless. She crawled over to him, and leaned over to see if he was all right. His eyes slowly opened and Lita jumped back. He gave out a hurtful moan and started to get up.
“Are you okay?” Lita finally asked.
Hawks Eye did notice she was sitting next to him. “I…think so,” he replied. He sat up and leaned back against the tree trying to catch his breath. I’m such a baka, he thought.
“What were you doing in the tree?”
Hawk was surprised at the question. Okay, Hawk…what were you doing in the tree? I was going to catch this girl and look at her dream. Yeah, like she’ll buy that. “Um…I was…here to meet someone. I…um…wanted to surprise them by jumping out of the tree when they came.” That’s basically the truth.
“Oh,” Lita said.
Hawk looked at her for a second and thought how beautiful she was. He went to position himself better when he felt a something on his right arm. He looked down to see blood running from a cut. He made a face that Lita noticed. She moved over to see. She made the same face he did when she saw the cut.
“You must have done that when you fell. Hold on, I have some tissues in my bag.” Lita reached into her bag, taking out the tissues. She moved over to the other side of the stranger. She lifted his arm in her hand and gently wiped away the blood. Hawks Eye watched her and looked at the cut on his arm.
“Here, hold this against it and put pressure on it.” He did so, and Lita reached into her bag again. She pulled out a hair ribbon she was going to fix for Mina. She won’t mind when she finds out why I used it. I’ll just make her another one out of the same material.
“Hold the tissue on it still. I’m going to tie this around your arm.” He moved his fingers out of the way when she had the ribbon holding the tissues. He winced as she tied it tightly. “Hopefully that will stop the bleeding. When you get home you can clean it and put better bandages on it.”
Hawks Eye checked the work she did. “Thanks. No one has ever helped me like this before.”
“You’re welcome. I’m glad I was here to help.” Lita looked into his maroon eyes.
Hawks Eye tried to think of something to say to her. Then he noticed her bag and scattered papers. “What were you doing before I fell?”
“My favorite thing in to do in the world…homework.”
“You like homework?”
“No, I was just being sarcastic. I hate it. Going to school is enough. Homework is aggravating. Especially when you don’t understand what you’re doing.”
“What don’t you understand?”
“Math. It’s pre-algebra. It just doesn’t make any sense to me.”
“Maybe I can help. I’m pretty good in math. Let me see.” Lita handed him her paper. He looked at it for a few seconds. “Oh, this stuff is easy.”
“I’m glad you think so,” Lita was starting to like this guy. She decided to try to see if she could get to know him better. “Can you help me with it?”
“I guess.” Hawk didn’t know that Lita was thinking the same thing he was. He liked her and was hoping to get to know her better.

It was 5:30, and there were only three out of the normal five that met for study buddies at the temple. Rae looked at her watch for the millionth time, Ami was studying, and Serena was biting her pencil eraser thinking about Darien.
“Is Lita ever going to show up? Mina called and said she might not come, but Lita never said anything,” Rae said.
“Maybe something came up and she forgot to call us,” said Ami still reading.
“Serena, did Lita call you before you came?” Rae waited for a reply. Serena was still in her own little world. “Serena? Serena!!!”
“What!? What happened now?” She gave Rae a dirty look.
“Never mind,” Rae said, shaking her head.
Just then there was a knock on the door and it opened. Mina popped her head in. “Hey guys! How’s it goin’?”
“Same old,” Ami said.
“Where’s Lita?”
Rae looked at her watch again. “We don’t know, she hasn’t called or anything.”
“She never came?” Everyone shook their head. “That’s strange. Last I knew she was coming. I walked home from school with her, but she took a longer way home than I did.”
“Maybe she’s in trouble,” suggested Serena.

At the same time the scouts were wondering the whereabouts of Jupiter, Tigers Eye and Fish Eye were sitting at the bar, wondering the same thing about Hawks Eye.
“I thought he said he wasn’t going to spend a lot of time with this one,” Fish Eye said outlining the rim of her glass.
“I don’t know, but I think we might want to find him. Maybe those Pumpkins got him locked up somewhere.”
“I doubt that, but I agree with looking for him.” They both headed out to search for their missing companion.

* * *

Little did the scouts or the trio know that their comrades were in a café drinking hot cocoa. Hawk helped Lita understand her math, and they eventually decided to go get something to drink together. They paid the bill, left the café, and headed back to the spot were they met. They silently walked through the park together. Suddenly, Hawk felt something in his hand. He glanced down to see Lita’s hand in his. He smiled and gripped her hand. She smiled in the fact that he accepted holding her hand.

Tiger and Fish were also taking a walk, keeping an eye out for Hawk. Then Fish saw something out of the corner of her eye. She dragged Tiger behind a nearby bush, and she pushed leaves away so she could look through. What she saw surprised her. Hawks Eye was walking alongside a human holding her hand! She silently motioned to Tiger to look through the bush. He was about to say something, but Fish stopped him. They tiptoed to another bush so they could watch what was happening. They both knew that this girl wasn’t the target he was supposed to get, so who was she?

Serena, Mina, Ami, and Rae were walking down the path Mina said her and Lita took earlier that day. “This is where we parted, right here,” she said.
“Are you sure?” asked Serena.
“Yes, I’m positive.”
“Lets see if she’s down there by that lake.” The four headed down the path looking for Lita. They heard a laugh that came from the left.
“Did you guys hear that?” The others nodded and they rushed behind a group of trees. They each peered to the side seeing a couple sitting down on the grass by the lakeshore.
“Hey! That’s Lita,” shouted Serena.
Rae put her hands over Serena’s mouth. “Quite Meatball Head! You’ll give us away.” They moved a bit closer in order to hear what Lita was saying to this guy they never saw before. Unfortunately, they couldn’t hear a thing.

Lita and Hawks Eye sat side by side, looking at sunset. Hawk moved his eyes to Lita. He couldn’t believe that this was happening. He never felt anything like the feeling he felt at that moment. What was it? He put an arm around her and she responded by leaning against him. She sighed and closed her eyes for a few minutes. Suddenly they heard a rustle in the bushes. Alarmed, they both looked around. No one was in sight. However, sitting in the bushes were Rae and Mina holding Serena’s mouth shut, who was trying to break free from their grasp. Lita giggled and stared into Hawks’ eyes, and he stared into hers.
“You know, we’ve spent the entire afternoon together and I’ve yet to find out your name,” said Lita.
“My name,” asked Hawks Eye lifting an eyebrow.
“Yes. I don’t think you know my name either.”
“No, I don’t.”
“Well, it’s Lita.” She blushed feeling a little embarrassed that they were just telling each other their names.
“Umm…that’s a really pretty name…Lita.” Hawk could feel his blood rush.
“Don’t you have a name?”
“Umm…yes…”
“Well, what is it?”
Hawks Eye never thought of making up a name. He didn’t want to act dumb, so he told her. “People just call me…Hawk.”
“Hawk?”
“It’s weird, I know”
“No! I like it. It’s different.” They sat in silence for a few more minutes.
Finally, Hawks Eye broke the silence. “I need to tell you something, Lita.”
“Yes?”
He searched for the right words. “I’ve…never felt like this about anyone before. You’re the first one that I’ve had true feelings towards.”
“Well, thank-you. I’ve had a lot of boyfriends, but not one was like you. You’re not a jock or some guy that is just going out for the heck of it. I really like you, Hawk.”
After another minute of silence, Hawk turned towards Lita. He looked deeply into her eyes. He brushed her hair back, which fell right back into place, then he took her chin in his hand. He leaned over and gave her a kiss. He sat back and waited for a reaction. She blushed and looked at the ground.
“I’m sorry…”
“No! I liked it.” She put her arms around his neck, and he leaned over and kissed her again. This time, the kiss lasted more than a second.

* * *

Fish Eye and Tigers Eye sat behind bushes with their mouths hanging wide open.
“Are you seeing what I’m seeing,” asked Fish. Tiger only nodded, too stunned to say anything. They watched as their fellow circus performer kissed a human who wasn’t even the target!
On the other side of the new couple, the other sailors watched in dismay. They sat in the same way the Amazons were; mouths hanging open, unable to say a word.
“Who is this guy anyways,” Rae asked. No one answered.

* * *

Lita and Hawk separated and looked at each other, both having a smile on their face. The sun was barely visible now. Lita cuddled up next to her new prince charming. Suddenly she jumped up. Hawks Eye was alarmed.
“I totally forgot,” she said.
“Forgot what?”
“I was supposed to got to study buddies with my friends. It’s okay that I didn’t ‘cause you helped me, but I never told them that I wasn’t coming. They must be worried sick.”
“Oh,” was Hawks’ only reply.
“I’m sorry, but I have to go for now. Can I see you tomorrow?”
Hawks Eye was feeling a little depressed. He couldn’t remember the last time he felt so relaxed. “It’s okay. Can I see you tomorrow?”
“Of course! It’ll take forever for tomorrow to come, but I’ll be looking forward to it. How ‘bout right here around two? I have school tomorrow, unfortunately.”
“How about if I meet you outside your school? That way I can see you as soon as you come out and we can walk together.”
Lita was so happy to hear that he was so anxious to see her again. “That’s fine. It’s the high school on Willow Lane.” He nodded and took her in his arms. He kissed her again, they said their good-byes for the night, and she hurried off. He watched her until he couldn’t see her anymore. The sailors, noting Lita’s departure left as well.
When it was all quiet, Hawks Eye turned and looked at the lake again. He thought about the day’s events and smiled. Then he heard a noise coming from the bushes again. Out walked Tiger and Fish, both having their arms crossed.
“So Hawks Eye, who is this new girl you’ve been with?” Fish glared at him.
“She isn’t a target is she Hawk,” asked Tiger, “and by the looks of things you weren’t playing with her mind, were you?”
“You two were spying on me?! Well, if you must know, I met her while waiting for the target. She’s so wonderful. I don’t know what’s come over me, but I have this new strange feeling when I think about her.” Hawk felt the breeze against his face.
“Okay…so you’re telling us this,” said Tiger, “you were going for the target, saw this girl and…and fell in love with her?”
“That’s basically it.”
“Zirconia won’t be too happy,” said Fish.
“If he finds out. You guys won’t tell him, will you? Please?” Hawk gave them desperate looking eyes.
“I guess we can keep our mouths shut. But you have to still work,” said Tiger.

* * *

Lita walked slowly down the street. She couldn’t get Hawk off her mind. She was so jealous of Serena lately because of her and Darien. She wanted to have a relationship like that too. Then this really cute, nice guy falls out of a tree. And best of all, he kissed her! She was so happy.
As she walked, the others were close behind. They followed her all the way to the temple without saying a word. Lita walked up the steps to Rae’s room, opened the door and found no one around. Curious, she turned around. When she did she saw her friends standing there.
“Where did you guys come from,” she asked.
“I think the more important question is where you were this afternoon,” Rae said.
“Yeah, you didn’t show up today,” said Mina.
“Umm…I was…in the park doing my homework.” Lita was at a loss for words.
“And…” said Rae.
“And then I went to the café…”
“And you didn’t call us?”
“Well,”
“Oh, stop fooling around you guys,” said Ami. “Lita, they want to know who the guy was that was with you.”
Lita pretended like she didn’t know what she was talking about. “Guy? What guy?”
“Umm…the guy you were kissing,” said Serena.
“Were you guys spying on me!?”
“We were worried about you,” said Mina, “then we found you sitting with this other guy we’ve never seen.”
“Oh,” said Lita. “Well, he’s a very good friend of mine.”
“From the picture, you looked a little more than friends to me,” said Serena.
“Okay, you got me. He’s my new boyfriend.”
“What!?” They all said in unison. Lita explained what happened and how she fell in love with this pink haired cutie. The others didn’t say anything.
Finally, Serena said, “Well, I’m happy for you Lita.”

* * *

For the next couple of days Lita met Hawks Eye after school. They would walk to some sort of restaurant or through the park. They were very close and they meant a lot to each other. Lita went to study buddies still, however she had Hawk help her with anything she needed instead of Ami or one of the others, (except Serena). Hawks Eye continued to help Fish and Tiger look for the holder of Pegasus, however, he refused to attack anyone, and he still performed with the others in the circus if they were on.
However, one day, Tigers Eye and Fish Eye were sitting alone at the bar when Hawk showed up. He sat down with a smile on his face and looked at the others. They sat there with a disgusted look on their faces. They didn’t acknowledge him at all.
“What’s up with you two,” he finally asked.
They didn’t answer.
“Hello? Do you guys hear me at all?”
“Yeah, we hear you,” said Tiger, still looking straight ahead.
“Okay…so how’s the assignment coming along?”
“Like you should be asking,” replied Tiger.
“Huh?”
“You’re never here anymore. You’re always with that stupid human girl!”
“Hey! She’s not stupid!”
“Yeah, whatever,” said Fish. “You missed Zirconia’s lecture today.”
“Did I ?
