Gundam: Dragon Wars Episode 4: Rings of Fire Just as the morning started to rise over the space station where last night, some of the servants of the New OZ started to distract us from our original goal to catch Dev, their leader. But, happiness for saving the colony was not the only thing that I was feeling. I also felt a joy inside of me that reconfirmed that I was a good pilot and I deserved to be the leader of this group, although I did have some doubts still, but they were normal. Now I truly know what true leadership was all about. I had to see my fears and confront them by overcoming them. If I didn't do that, it meant the failure of a mission with the risk of having someone hurt, including my friends or me. As we started to get ready to go out, we got a distress signal from a colony. The colonist majority leader said over the intercom that they were under attack from a strange Gundam that dug into the ground. Once he was down there, the volcanoes nearby the settlement were starting to become more active. When I heard about this, I had to get everyone ready and plot a course out for Colony 1998. Outside of the representative that each of the colonies, they also had majority leaders. Although the majority leaders of the colonies had less power than the representatives, the majority leaders were the leaders of the colonies that were always there to guard over any actions that happen. Then, if the problem was that large, they would relay the problem to the representative of their colony. Which normally meant that we would have to go in and take care of it. Well, at least they would contact us because of the things that have happened during this time. We prepared for takeoff and just as we were about to leave, we seen an officer running over to us. He said, "I have a message for you before you go." I climbed out of my cockpit and went over to him. "What does the message say?" "The message from the colony majority leader that we heard from today was that they evacuated out to the space station nearby. They also said that there will be some lava suited Maganac Advance out there. You will be trained with these for about a few hours and then, hopefully, you will go down and get rid of this threat to them. About then, the transmission ended. I filled them in on the new details about your force and how you are the new leader, so there should be no confusion when you arrive there." "Okay, thanks." I gave the officer a salute and watched as he saluted back and walked off. I got back into my cockpit and then relayed the information to the others before we took off. Later on, when we landed over at the space station, the commander of the station and his second in command welcomed us. They led us over to the secondary hanger to show us the new Maganac Advance that they fitted with heat-absorbing panels to power it and with only water jets mounted in the chestplate. We were all pleased at the way that the fittings were set up to make them be used to our advantage. Just as we were about to get a bite to eat, the major alarm went off and reported that the lava is starting to be exposed. The Volcano did have a cavern that would be able to lead us to where the enemy probably was. We got into the Maganac Advance Mobile Suits and flew down there. While we were getting down there, the mechanic who developed these Maganac's showed us all of the controls and how to use them. There were 3 major new controls than the normal Maganac Advance. First, there was the Hydro Jet III System, which used a mixture of water and liquid nitrogen to create a freezing cold to stop lava flows. Then, there was the switch that changed the mobile suit from generator power to Heat Panel power, which could prove very useful in the extreme heat. Finally, there was the Nitrogen Target Missiles that could also do the same as the Hydro Jet III System, but it was more accurate and could also be used on the mobile suit that was causing the problem. Once we landed near the volcano, I said, "Everyone, bring up the Heat Panel power source." They all followed my order, so I told them, "Alright, we're going in. No time to practice now. This is an emergency." We moved in to the volcano and seen the cavern that they were talking about. Lava was barely flowing out of it, so we knew that it was safe to enter. The cavern stretched on for about a mile and a half when we seen the main problem. It was a specially fitted Phoenix Mobile suit. Although the Phoenix was a new design of mobile suit, it was very good in a hot place. James started to talk to the mysterious pilot. "Listen, this is Gundam Force. Stop your meddling and surrender yourself and your mobile suit." The pilot said, "You really think I am going to listen to you. The New OZ will avenge me." Guy came on the line and said, "You really think that they will avenge you when they sent you on a suicide mission?" The pilot replied, "Of course they will. They'll believe that you destroyed me. You are fools to try and stop me. Several other colonies will suffer, including the ones around the base." I finally told the pilots, "Take him out. He's a threat to the colony." The pilot responded to my order by sending out a strange missile right at my feet. "You like that? It's called a Ring of Fire Bomb. Got to love that Napalm in it." "Oh, yeah, how do you like this?" I armed up my Nitrogen Target Missiles and fired at the pilot, which made his mobile suit freeze in place. Andrea said, "Well, that should take care of that." But, she was wrong. The earth beneath us started to shake and more and more lava started to come out. I came on the com and said, "Alright, activate your Hydro Jet III Systems. Freeze up the lava." They followed my orders and started to cool the lava and try to stop it's flow. However, the lava just kept on coming and coming, more and more each time. I then said, "Everyone out of the cavern. NOW!" We exited the cavern making sure that no one would be left behind. We even were able to take out the frozen Phoenix Mobile Suit so that we could get copies of it made for our force. Once everyone was out, I armed up a special missile and fired it. The special thing about the missile was that it was a heat-seeking missile and it would strike where the most heat was. Once it struck, a cold white smoke came out of the cavern telling me it froze the lava in place. We headed back up to the station to upgrade our Gundams and to get ready to start another day. Once we arrived at the station, we were told that the earthquakes that the ground received heavily damaged the colony. So, in our Gundams, we decided to help rebuild the colony and make sure that the people had a place to live again. After we repaired the colony, we went back up to the space station to finish off our day by getting something to eat and to also get ready to start another day. End of Episode 4
