Gundam: Dragon Wars Episode 1: In the beginning His day started out on a dark morning, but then again, all of his mornings began in darkness. However, today was an exception to that. The chill of darkness went down his spine as he almost sensed a great power start to rise up out of the darkness to try and take over the world that he knew. He got up out of his bed and went into the washroom to go and take a shower. After that, he would get some food for breakfast. Just as he got out of the shower, a voice came over the P.A. "Mike Blizzzard, are you there? We need you in the R & D room immediately," said the voice on the intercom. Mike pressed a button on the com-link and said, "Okay, I'll be right down there." He got out his usual attire for the day, a collared tee shirt, pants, and, of course, his desperado coat. He put all of his clothes on and headed out to the R & D room. The head of the R & D division, Doctor Scavanda, was there personally. "What took you so long?" said the Dr. "You caught me just when I woke up," Mike replied "Oh, sorry to get you up this early." "No, I was already up. I was just about to get breakfast." "Well, that can wait. We are having problems with this new Gundam that we are trying to design." "And you want me here because I am the creator of the networking program. I know we are trying to replace the lost Diablo Gundams…" "And then we looked for the plans and we have found that they mysteriously disappeared. I know the story. We just need you to create a networking system for these new Gundams." The doctor pressed a button and a metal panel on the wall rose up and revealed 3 new Gundams. "Wow. Good job designing each of these," Mike responded in awe as he looked at the huge Gundams." "Yes, they are fully operational except for one thing," replied the doctor. "Let me guess, you need me to install the network boards and make them fully operational?" "Man, I swear, I think sometimes you are psychic." "I know I can have some inklings about things, but this one seemed obvious." "Well, you were right, so I'll leave you to get to work. Oh, don't worry about going to the huge coalition meeting. You might be working on these all night long." "Wait a minute, you mean to tell me that…" "Yep, we never installed the network boards. Good luck." The doctor walks off along with all the technicians in the room. Mike sits down at the panel that activates the installation process for any circuitry on the Gundams. He types in a few things to get the process started, but the computer comes back by saying, "Sorry. Systems failure. Need to install manually." Mike was not naturally glad to hear this. Although the network boards were small and simple to put in, it was a pain to get the network running. Mike took off his coat, got out his tools, and headed out to where the new Gundams were docked. Mike had always dreamed of becoming a Gundam pilot. After all, he was a descendant of the great Heero from back during the war against OZ. He wanted to be a part of the team, but he always seemed to be left out on any Gundam projects. In fact, when the recent team of Gundams was formed, he was left out of the picking, but his best friend, James Quartero, had gotten a spot as head of the new Gundam force. Mike was disappointed at this event. But he was still trying to make a difference in the Gundam force. After that day, he did get hired by the R & D division as a person to develop a way to control 3 Gundams at once. Mike was happy to get the job, but was very frustrated at trying to make the network work. Finally, his day came. He had completed the networking system. The networking system was installed into 3 Gundams. The Gundams were called Gundam Diablo, Gundam Diablo Zero, and Gundam Diablo Zero Custom. The purpose of the network was to keep the enemy guessing which Gundam held the pilot, since most of the recent casualties in the Gundams were from the enemy killing the pilot in his Gundam. Mike was expecting to get to pilot these Gundams, but he was wrong. They had picked a man named Lucifer Dev. Mike never really trusted him because Lucifer was always secretive and always trying to hide something from everyone. When Lucifer went out on his test run, it was going good, at first. Then, he had reported that several Gundams came down and started to attack him. He tried to get his weapons systems online and fight back, but his communicator shut off after an exploding sound came over the communicator. The entire Gundam force mourned his death and was always trying to make sure that incident never would happen again. Mike finally put in the last networking board and closed up the hatch to the circuit board that he had put it into. He climbed into the cockpit and then started to boot up the networking system. Mike thought for a second. "Man, I wish I could have been on the Gundam force. I wanted to be on there so bad. Maybe this might be my ticket onto the Gundam force. Maybe…" Later on, in the old United Nations building, several of the Colony leaders came there to discuss the recent threat to some of the outer colonies that there were Gundams attacking these areas. Some said that it was a small rebellion trying to become free. Others thought that it was just Gundams falling into the wrong hands. No matter how they looked at it, it spelled trouble for the colonies. Now, it was time to decide how to handle this. Nearby, Gundams were standing guard. On the north side of the building, a young pilot named Guy Lowestein was piloting Gundam Gerylow. Keeping an eye on the East and part of the south side was a female pilot, named Andrea Glios, who piloted Gundam Glowester. She had had a hard time to convince the people on the selection committee that she was a talented pilot, but she was happy that she did get selected to be on the force. Then, on the Western and the other half of the Southern side, Mike friend, James Quartero, was piloting the Quantum Gundam. His Gundam was strange when you looked at it. It wasn't that it was transforming, it was that it transformed from it's earth mode, which was a metal T-Rex, to it's space mode, a form that actually looked like a normal mobile suit. The meeting got under way right when the last representative sat down in his chair. The meeting was going on for a long time, but then, something strange happened. There were reports that the Gundams that attacked the colonies were preparing for an offensive. They were on the moon gathering forces to go in and get rid of the representatives. The Gundams on guard turned on their engines and flew off to the moon to get rid of this threat once and for all, or so they thought. When the Gundams were on the moon, a huge explosion broke down the wall just behind the man leading the meeting. Three Gundams appeared behind him that looked very familiar. They were the Diablo Gundams! People started to rejoice that the Diablo Gundams, the first Gundams ever to have the networking system, were up and running. They knew that they would win against this minor resistance now, or would they? The normal and Zero Gundams started to walk out and pick up each of the representatives and put them into compartments inside the legs of those Gundams. It was a trick. Someone evil was piloting the Gundams trying to kidnap the representatives of the colonies! Fortunately, the doctor was at the meeting. He pulled out a communicator and contacted Mike. "Mike, Mike, come in quick! We are in danger!" the doctor said. "What?! What's going on?" Mike responded. "We're under attack here. We need help" "What happened to the other Gundams?" "They're on the moon fighting off other Gundams. You need to get a pilot for the new Gundams and tell him to get here immediately." "Alright, I'll get right on it. Over and out," Mike turned off his communicator. He thought for a little bit. "So, they want a pilot, don't they? Well, they asked for a pilot, so they'll get a pilot!" Mike cleaned up real quick and put back on his coat. He climbed up a ladder and got into the cockpit of the Custom Gundam and started to boot up the systems. Several of the leaders had been picked up and put into the hidden compartments on Gundam Diablo and Gundam Diablo Zero. The head of the meeting yelled out, "Who are you and what are you doing in our property?" A hiss and a whir was heard and the top of the cockpit had opened up and a platform rose up and revealed a man dressed in black with a black cloak on. He said, "Why, I am destroying this little meeting. After all, I am one of yours." The head of the meeting squinted to see the cloaked figure's face better. He was finally able to see it clearly, but he didn't like what he had seen. "Why the look of awe on your face? Don't you recognize your own son when you see him, Mr. Dev?" Mr. Dev, the leader of the conference, then said, "No, it can't be you. I won't let it be you!" "Oh, but it is and you will accept it. I am Lucifer Dev, the new leader of the New OZ." "The New OZ, you must be crazy," replied one of the representatives. "Oh, but I am not crazy. I am just a mastermind, but a mastermind of evil," replied Lucifer followed by an evil chuckle. After all of the representatives were put into the hidden compartments, Lucifer then said, "Well, hate to be a party crasher and run, but, well, I got to run now. After all, I have kidnapped representatives of every colony and I need to put them on my jail colony, so I'll see you all later." As he descended back into the cockpit, a laser shot came and hit the Gundam that Lucifer Dev was in. Lucifer then said, "What was that? I thought all of the Gundams were gone to the moon to fight my minions." A voice came out and said, "Not all of them, Dev!" Dev responded, "No, not you." "Yes, me. What, I thought you would be happy to see your old friend, Dev?" "Yeah, but not you, Mike Blizzzard! I thought you weren't given control over a Gundam." "Yeah, but I was just given permission to pilot these Gundams just to kick your sorry butt just now." "These? You don't mean that…" "Why, yes, I do. Meet the Gundam Blizzzard Network, named for me, of course." Dev turned around and tried to have his Gundam Diablo strike Gundam Blizzzard, but he missed. Then, Mike commanded Gundam Blizzzard to strike Diablo with his scythe and throw him into the river. Although the Gundam missed striking Diablo, the Gundam was able to get a hold of Diablo and throw it. However, before it hit the water, it transformed into its plane mode and flew off into space. Next off were the Zero Gundams. Gundam Blizzzard Zero shot Diablo Zero before Dev was even able to get a command off to that Gundam. He made that one then transform back into its plane mode and go off into space. Dev, fearing for his life, then said, "You may have defeated me for now, but I still have the representatives and you will have to get them back by going through me. See you later, loser!" With that, Diablo Zero Custom transformed back into plane mode and flew off into deep space. Later on, when all of the Gundams were docked in the hanger, Mr. Dev came over and said to Mike, "I'm sorry that we didn't make you a pilot sooner. If we had let you pilot the Diablos, then this would have never happened. I guess that we didn't loose contact with Dev back then because he was destroyed, but because he stole the Gundams and wanted to take over our form of government." Mike came back and said, "Well, don't worry about it. I'm a pilot now and I know that I am a whole lot better than Dev. After all, I created this network system." "Yep, you sure did, and we are sure glad that you are on the force," said James. "So, on behalf of all of us, welcome to the Gundam force." He stretched out his hand to shake it. "Thanks. I'm glad to be working with the best of the best." He shook James's hand to mark off another milestone in history. End of Episode 1
