Man, this may seem weird to all of you for a kid like me, but anything is possible. It all started last summer. A group of us got transported to the digital world and met up with our Digimon partners. Now, with our newfound power, we're out to challenge the evil of the Digital World and make sure it's safe for humans and Digimon everywhere. And we call it... The D4 Saga Episode 1-The Gathering Part 1: The Light of Choosing It all started on a typical Monday morning. It was 7:30 in the morning when my alarm went off as usual. I rolled over and hit the clock, saying, "Man, why the heck don't I get smart and just turn off the alarm. I just need sleep, not school." I get up out of bed and go take my shower. After I get out and get dressed in my usual attire, T-shirt and jeans with a jean jacket on over the T-shirt, I went out into the kitchen and had my usual cereal for breakfast. Sounds like it's going to start off a normal day, right? Well, think again. Just as I walk out the door to school, I see three of my friends waiting for me. They all say hi and we walk off. Oh, I forgot to tell you about them. The first one is James, who's always ready to fight, but never seems to have the mind to be able to outsmart his opponents, or to get out of fights for that matter. The second one was Jesse, who was always the meek one, never saying anything or challenging anything, like he had no power over anything. The last one was Chris, who was always the cruel one of the bunch, making sure that everyone was somewhat miserable on Mondays. But, he always had a side to his personality that made him just a little bit kinder to us than others. We reach the elevator and get in, with a mysterious man behind us. While going down, I hear James speak up first, saying, "Hey, anyone catch that last online book that Takeru wrote?" Jesse replied, "Yeah, sure." I replied to James as well, "Yeah, that was great. The Digital World sounds like a great place. Wouldn't it be great to go there?" Chris responded, "Yeah, right, like there really is a Digital World out there." The man behind us spoke up and said, "But it is real. After all, I have been there." "Oh, yeah, well who are you?" "Does the name Tai Kamiya ring a bell?" Our jaws drop as I say, "The REAL Tai Kamiya?" He replies, "The one and only. So, I take it this guy is not a big believer in Digimon." But, in our response, all we could do is shake our heads no. He came back, saying, "I see. But, it is understandable unless you experience it for yourself. But, you'll never know who will be the next set of the chosen ones. Heck, maybe you might be the next set of digidestined to save the Digital World." I replied, "That would be cool. A Digimon partner of my own." James added, "Yeah, so I can make sure I actually can back myself up in a fight." Jesse responded, "Or maybe have something that I can draw strength from." Chris then added, "Or to make all of you feel miserable." Tai interrupted everyone's dreams by saying, "Hey, I only said it was a possibility that you would become the chosen ones. Not that it was a sure thing to happen today or something like that." After hearing that, I replied, "Yeah, but you said yourself that you never know." "True, but don't get your hopes up. If you do and get them crushed, then you'll feel like you'll never be able to accomplish any of your dreams. I'm just saying to you guys. Be careful on your hopes on the Digital World because they could get crushed." "Don't worry, I'll make sure that they'll get it out of their system," was my response as the elevator reached the first floor of Highton View Terrace. We walked out, waving good-bye to our newfound friend, Tai, as we were heading off for school. All we could think about, though, was being in the Digital World, being a digidestined and saving the Digital World. On our way, we ran into a group of our other friends in the same class. There was A.J., who was always the athletic one, being the best that he could ever be at sports. Then, there was the future doctor Amanda, who always had a good heart and wanted to save others. Finally, there was Joan, who was the future psychiatrist because she would always be able to point out what's going wrong in your life and how to fix it. But, she wouldn't make it very successful because most of her solutions would be the wrong way of going about it. We greeted each other and continued to walk off to school. Once we got to school, we opened up the gate and walked into the courtyard. But, as we walked into the courtyard, there was a weird symbol on the ground. We all walked over to it to check it out. A.J. was the first one to ask, "What is it?" Joan looked at it closely and said, "It looks like a seal of some sorts. Maybe we should try breaking the seal and see what's beneath it." Amanda replied, "Yeah, but remember what happened with your last suggestion?" "Hey, I can't help it if I gave you some bad advice only one time." "Only one?" "Okay, maybe all the time, but still. You don't know what the heck this is and neither do I, so my solution would be as good as yours." I ended the argument by saying, "Hey, both of you, cut it out. I'll take a look at it." I walked over to the seal and looked at it closely. I stepped on it and then said, "Look, nothing harmful to it. It's probably just painted on here. Why not step on it and see for yourself." Joan walks onto the seal, saying, "Okay, solution-boy," with Amanda right behind her. James, Jesse, and Chris walk onto the seal, saying, "Doesn't look harmful, that's for sure." A.J. says, "Sure, why not," and steps on it. But, once he stepped on it, something happened to it. A bright light came out from the edge of the seal and surrounded us. The white light slowly changed into a rainbow-colored light that engulfed the entire area of the seal. Joan stated, "So much for your solution, Mike." I replied, "Hey, we don't know what it's going to do yet. I have a strange feeling it'll be good for all of us." "Yeah, sure, you keep on believing that. I'm out of here," as Joan started to try to walk out of the light, but was stopped at the edge. She pounded on the edge, screaming at it to let her out, but the light couldn't hear her plea and wouldn't let her out. She stomped her foot, saying, "I want to go home!" But, once she did this, the real fun started. By her stomping on it, she activated a teleportation sequence in the seal. We were levitated into the air slowly towards a white light about 20 feet above us. Just as we started to raise up in the air, Tai and his sister, Kari, walked by and caught us out of the corner of his eye. Both him and Kari looked at us in amazement with Tai saying, "My goodness, what the heck is going on?" Kari replied to his question, "They're getting transported to the Digital World! I remember that light from when we went back to face the Dark Masters." Tai then commanded Kari, "Get the other digidestined. We've got a situation on our hands." Kari nodded and ran off to get back to the apartment and call up the other digidestined. Tai yelled out to us, "Don't worry, help is on the way," just as we entered the light. Once we entered the light, we seemed to break down into beams of data and seem to be flying around to wherever we were supposed to go. We all landed in an assortment of places in a forest on the island that we landed on, being reassembled into our original forms. I was the first to wake up, seeing four strange figures, I screamed out, "AAHHHH!" as they replied the same. I then asked, "Who are you?" The ice blue lizard spoke up first, saying, "I'm Icemandamon, the coolest Digimon around." Then, the green turtle added, "And I'm Turtlmon, the strongest turtle you'll ever meet." The third digimon, a greenish-yellow bird added to Turtlmon's response, "I am Falconmon, the high-flying falcon" Finally, the last digimon added, "And I'm Patamon, one of the best Digimon of them all." I asked them, "What am I doing here?" Icemandamon responded, "Well, you're here because you're a digidestined. Look at your wrist and see what I mean." I looked at my wrist and seen a digivice that looked a lot like a watch on my writst. I said, "Whoa, a digivice!" Turtlmon then responded, "Technically speaking, a D4 digivice. After all, you can control up to 4 Digimon at once with it, which is a cool thing to have, wouldn't you agree?" I nodded my head in response. Falconmon then interrupted, saying, "Hey, don't forget this," as he flies over and picks up this handheld computer, saying, "That's a DUltraPC, which is a great communication device and an even better Digimon analyzer." I responded to all of them, "Man, this is a great experience, but I think we better find the others so that we can regroup and find out what's going on and why we're here." Patamon responded, "Yeah, that's a good idea. Me and Falconmon will fly around and bring them back over here." "Great idea, Patamon. Oh, try to be as gentle as possible. They're probably just getting to know their Digimon as it is." "You got it. Come on, Falconmon. Let's get to work." Falconmon responded, "You got it, Patamon," as they flew off searching for the others. It seemed like no time, but they both flew back with everyone else behind them, one at a time. First, there was Amanda, who had her partners to be DemiRavenmon, Elecmon, and Crabmon. Then, there was Jesse, who had Sunmon, Batmon, Paramon, and Potamamon. After that came Chris, who had Deermon and Anacondamon, who was followed by A.J. with his Digimon, Speemon, Pyromon, and Robinmon. Then, James showed up with Psymon, Mushroomon, and Pegmon, who was shortly followed by Joan, who's Digimon were Bearmon, Gyromon, Kunemon, and Holymon. Once everyone was together, I asked them, "Some trip, eh?" Joan was the first to reply, "Hey, you're the one who brought us here! You should be the one to talk!" "Hey, no one forced you to step on the seal. You're just as much at fault as I am. You did it of your own free will." "I hate it when he uses my excuses against me." James asked me, "So, what are we supposed to do now?" I replied, "I don't know, but I intend to find out soon." TO BE CONTINUED IN THE GATHERING PART 2: DIGIDESTINED CONFIRMED
