Thunderstorm

The sun shone through the curtains and warmed the whole room up with a gentle heat. The leaves were still wet from the rain that happened last night and the birds were singing. Todd's alarm went off and he nearly had a heart attack.

"Wha! I'm up! I'm up!" Todd slammed the snooze button and he snuggled up in his bed. "Now, I'm going back to sleep."

"No you aren't!!" Kero replied, biting his finger.

"OW!" Todd yelled as he shook Kero off of his poor finger. "What on earth did you do that for?"

"That was Kero's personal alarm clock telling you to haul your sleepy butt out of bed!" Kero replied cheerily. "It's gonna be a great one so you should get up early."

"On a Saturday?! Get away from me, you little gremlin..." Todd grumbled as he snuggled back into his comforter. "It's not even eleven yet, give me time.

Kero bit his finger again.

"OW! I'm warning you!" Todd growled at him. "You do NOT want to see me cranky in the morning!"

"Oh yeah?! What are you gonna do?!" Kero scoffed. "I'm a guardian beast of the clow!"

Todd took him by the tail and threw him into the sock drawer. He held it shut while Kero banged and banged to be let out. "You aren't so tough!"

"Let me out!" Kero yelled. "I'm sorry!"

"You don't even know why you're apologizing..." Todd grumbled as he let Kero out. "You're a pathetic beast of the clow...oh RATS! I'm now too awake to go back to sleep!"

Kero laughed defiantly. "Hah! My plan worked!"

Todd took him and shoved him into the sock drawer again. Kero banged and banged on it. "Let's see how much humor you have when I eat breakfast without you?"

Kero started sobbing. "I want breakfast..."

Todd let him out and said in a cheery tone. "Don't worry about it, I'd never really do that. It's cruel and unusual!"

They both walked into the kitchen where a spread awaited them. The breakfast today is French toast with bacon and omelets. Todd and Kero sat down and eagerly dug into the breakfast. Miss Mackenzie sat down calmly and said. "Welcome to our world. I hoped you'd get up in time for brunch."

"You know I'd never miss your fancy cooking for the world!" Todd replied happily as he ate a piece of French toast. "I wonder what we're going to do today?"

"Maybe you and Sakura can go out on a date!" Kero replied, smiling. "Seeing is how you like her so much!"

"Well...I don't think she'll go for that..." Todd mused, blushing a bright red. "But then again..."

"I wonder if you're going to find a clow card today?" Miss Mackenzie asked. "We haven't seen one in a couple of days..."

"Well, I hope it won't be one to ruin this day..." Todd replied, finishing his breakfast. He patted his belly and said. "That was delicious!"

The dishes were done in almost no time and Todd strapped on his roller blades. "I'm going for a little ride! You're coming with me!" Todd picked up kero and put him in his pocket. "I'll see you in about an hour!"

Todd skated out the Kyodon manor and he started building up speed. Kero wasn't as scared as last time but he had his eyes shut for some of the way. Todd jumped over the heaves in the sidewalk and he vaulted over a parked car. He came to some stairs and jumped over them, he timed his jump well and he landed on his feet instead of his face. He skated to the park and did a lap around the penguin slide. The wind was blowing and Todd felt the breeze refresh him and the pleasant sun over head. "It's going to be winter soon...so maybe we should make the most of this day and go on a picnic with Sakura! What do you say, Kero?"

"As long as it has lots of food, I'm coming!" Kero replied, patting his tummy. "We'll invite the whole gang over and we'll find some place quiet!"

Todd nodded as he continued skating. "Yeah, maybe we could go outside of Reidington to some sunny field. I'll bet Sakura will love that?"

"You want Sakura to love more than a picnic..." Kero replied, winking. "But I wonder if that Li kid will approve?"

"Who cares?" Todd replied, smiling and feeling the wind through his hair. "We'll invite Li over too! Everyone can come!" Todd smiled at Kero and he smiled back and then Todd looked over to the Kyodon building and started to return there.

Sakura brushed her hair and looked at the sky. "The rain's finally over...It's a great day!" Suddenly, the phone rang and Sakura picked it up. "Hello? Sakura speaking..."

"Hi Sakura, it's Todd. How about if we go have a picnic? We'll get Li, Madison and Meilin to come too! Miss Mackenzie is going to drive us there so how about it?"

"Okay!" Sakura replied. "I'll call everyone while you get the food ready. I hope everyone will be free..."

"Sure thing! Miss Mackenzie makes great sandwiches and I'll get the picnic stuff ready. How about we pick you guys up in about an hour?"

"Sure thing! See you!" Sakura replied and hung up the phone. "I'll call Li first..."

At Li's house, Meilin and him were sparing together in the training room. Meilin rushed to attack him and Li took the advantage and flipped her. She crashed on the padded ground on her back. "Ouch! Sorry about that!"

"Remember that you shouldn't try that approach when attacking. The opponent will see an opportunity and defeat you." Li replied, wiping a bit of sweat from his brow. "I'm sorry I flipped you like that."

"No problem, I've had worse happen." Meilin replied cheerily. "You're so great at this! I'll win soon, though so watch out!"

The phone rang in the living room and Meilin rushed to get it. "Why can't there be a phone in the training room?! This wouldn't be such a bother!" She picked up the receiver and asked. "Hello? Oh hi, Avalon...State your business!"

"I was wondering if Li and you would be able to come with me and Todd to a picnic?" Sakura asked, a little annoyed. "We're going to a spot on the outer parts of Reidenton."

"Just a moment, Sakura!" Meilin ran into the training room, where Li was practicing his sword techniques. "Sakura and Todd want us to come on a picnic with them! So are we going?"

"Sure!" Li replied. "Get her to tell us where and when."

"Meilin ran back to the telephone and said. "We'll be there! We'll also bring some food! Bye!" Meilin hung up the phone. "So, I wonder if Sakura's starting to like me...anyway, Sakura told us to meet at her house!"

*     *     *

Sakura smiled as she hung up the phone. "I wonder if Madison's gonna come too? Probably..." She picked the phone up and dialed it with the speed dial for Madison. "Hello...Madison?"

"Hi, Sakura...what's up?" Madison asked, looking at her backstage pass. "What do you want?"

"I was wondering if you'll come with all of us to a picnic?" Sakura asked. "Todd and Li and Meilin are coming!"

"I'm sorry, I can't" Madison replied, smiling at her ticket. "I have... ... ... dancing lessons."

"Dancing lesions?" Sakura asked suspiciously. "I thought you had dancing lesions on monday and wednesday?"

"I have special lessons that I can't miss. I'm sure the picnic would be a lot of fun...but these lessons I need!" Madison replied, rolling her eyes a bit. "How about another time?"

"I don't think so, Todd came up with it about half an hour ago..." Sakura replied. "Is it that swing dancing that your trainer introduced?"

"Yeah...That's the one..." Madison lied, starting to get a little irritated. "I have to go now... The ... dancing lesion is about to start."

"Something is a little off..." Sakura replied. "You going to have fun at the concert?"

"Yeah, I wanted to ask you to come but I could only get one backstage pass in such short notice." Madison replied. "I...uh...What concert?"

"I KNEW you were going to the concert! You were talking about it for the last couple of days! Fine! See that stupid concert! See if I care?" Sakura replied angrily.

"I will have fun too! You know, sometimes I need a break from you sometimes, you can be such a brat... well, my concert awaits! Bye!" Madison hung up before Sakura could get another word in. "Let's go everyone!"

Sakura slammed the phone down and said. "Fine! You obviously think you're too good for the likes of us peasant people...what a snob!"

Sakura packed a basket with a shortcake in it and saw Li and Meilin walk up. She let them in and soon Todd and Miss Mackenzie came along. The drive was about twenty minutes with them talking along the way.

"Where are we going?" Meilin asked.

"We're going to a picnic site that Sakura's Dad took us to, it's really nice." Todd replied. "Hey Sakura? How come Madison isn't here?"

"Fine with me if she doesn't want to come with us to the picnic on Saturday...humph!" Sakura replied full of spite. "I don't know why I ever became friends with her anyway...she obviously thinks that she's too good for us! She's such a snob!"

"Sakura...you don't mean that." Todd replied somberly. "What did Madison do to you that got you
so mad in the first place?"

"She went to some concert and said that she could use a break from me. She even called me a brat! I'm not a brat..." Sakura replied. "Why would she think that?"

"Beats me..." Meilin mumbled under her breath.

"What did you say?" Sakura asked quickly. "Come on, what was it?"

"I didn't say anything!" Meilin replied. "You're so paranoid lately..."

The drive was over to Todd's relief and the picnic was set up. Todd laid down the blanket and Sakura took out the lunches. Miss Mackenzie smiled as she took out her basket and it was filled with treats galore. Kero was inside of the basket smiling. "Hey Todd...you'll never guess what I found it here...It's so delectable!"

"Hope you didn't eat it..." Sakura replied. "How are you?"

"I'm just great! Layla is an awesome cook!" Kero replied, sighing dreamily. "Wow...what a lunch."

"It's the stuffed animal!" Meilin replied, poking him. "You haven't changed at all!"

"And you haven't either! You're still a..."

Todd stopped him and felt the winds whirl around them, the winds were cold but nice. Todd saw a large cloud in the distance. "Wow! Everyone look at that!"

They all looked and saw it. It was large but white and puffy. Meilin looked at it and said. "That's a huge one. Li, don't you think so..."

Li looked at it for a moment and blinked. He thought he saw something in the distance but shrugged. "Looks pretty big..."

They played a game of frisbee. Todd threw it up and the wind caught it. It flew up in the sky and landed at least 30 feet behind him. "Wow! The wind really got a piece of that one! Here!" Todd threw the frisbee up and the wind caught it again. "Go long! Go long!"

Li jumped up and caught it. He landed and smiled. "You'll have to do better than that, Todd."

Todd smirked and replied. "I will! Just watch me! Throw it back here!"

Li threw the frisbee up and a huge wind caught it. It flew up an extra 15 feet and Todd gasped. "Whoa! I've got it!" Todd ran back and back and he jumped. Up everyone leaned forward for a closer look. Todd put his arms out and it crashed into his face. "OW!" Todd fell back on the ground, gripping his nose.

Everyone ran over to him and saw he was all right. He snorted and said. "Plastic surgery for free, all you need is a frisbee in the face."

They all decided to sit down for a while and eat some picnic snacks. Kero got into the shortcake but it was still salvageable. Todd looked at the cloud again and saw it was starting to take an odd shape. "That cloud looks wierd...it's starting to look like an anvil..."

Li looked over and he raised his eyebrows. "I don't like the looks of that cloud...it's turning grey."

A gust of wind blew their paper plates over and spilled their juice. Meilin sighed at her downed juice. "The wind is picking up too...you don't suppose that...it could be a storm..."

"We might have to pack up..." Miss Mackenzie said.

"Rats! The rest of the picnic is gonna be ruined!" Todd sighed. "Or maybe the wind's will blow in our favor and blow that huge monster of a cloud away."

The wind changed and it started to push the storm cloud in their direction. Todd blinked in utter disbelief as the winds picked up. The cloud was pushing closer and closer. Sakura thought to herself and thought. "The winds only blew in our direction when Todd said that the winds might not...and the weather never said anything about a storm...it makes me wonder..." She smacked her fist to her palm and shouted. "Ha! That's it!"

Everyone jumped and turned to her. Todd blinked. "Sakura! What are you trying to do?! Give me a heart attack here?"

"This is the work of a clow card!" Kero said. "I think it's the storm card!"

Li took out his lasin board and chanted. "Force of light with ancient spin, send forth the magic power within...Force, know my plight! Release the light!!" Li's lasin board shined a brilliant blue and shot a searching beam into the giant cloud. "There IS a clow card in there!"

Thunder suddenly boomed as lightning crackled in the cloud, the cloud grew even more and a small funnel appeared at the base of the cloud. Todd gasped. "Uh oh...That funnel means that we might have a tornado!"

"A tornado?!" Sakura and Meilin shouted. "We don't get tornadoes around here."

"Clow card! Actually there might be more than one." Li replied, putting his lasin board away. "That cloud with both thunder and a potential tornado means that it could be that the Thunder card as well as the Storm card..."

"Double trouble!" Meilin replied. "Storm and Thunder..."

Todd took out his pocket spear and chanted. "Spear of Todd...power of magic...power of light...surrender the spear, the force ignite! Release!!" Todd's spear floated out of his hand and encased in an orb of light. The orb grew as the spear and it burst, Todd's spear was at full size. "Now...how do we do this? I'm sure that the Clow cards inside know about us..."

"We can't just assault that huge cloud." Li said flatly. "We need a strategy."

"I wonder if we can attack it from here?" Todd asked. "Like, with a card."

"No, we'll have to get up there...but the lightning would fry us and the wind would be terrible." Li replied. "Maybe you could use the shield card."

"The shield card wouldn't work for that long." Todd replied. "This isn't like the rain card, it's different. We'll need some sort of body armor that protects us from lightning and wind."

"Body armor?!" Sakura replied, almost shouting. "I'll help us out! Wait here!" Sakura dashed to the car to get her phone.

"Well...wait here she says...As if we're going to do anything else." Todd laughed. "You calling Madison?"

"... ... ..." Sakura lowered her eyes to the ground and sighed. "She probably hates me. I shouldn't even bother."

"Don't worry!" Todd smiled. "She'll help us even IF she hates you!"

"Todd!" Li looked at him, in disbelief.

"Sorry...bad word choice!" Todd apologized. "Anyway, you'd better call to make amends. It'll be good for both you and Madison. I destroyed Jeremy's model plane when I flew it into the telephone wires and burned it to a crisp. Jeremy was mad at me but after a month or so, he forgave me...that was after he broke my toaster seeing if he could toast a pair of underpants...or was it a frisbee..." Todd then began thinking.

Sakura gave him a weird look . "You're just fab at talking you know. Okay, I'll call her." Sakura dialed Madison's number and she picked up.

"Hello? Oh it's you." Madison said flatly. "So what do you want?"

"Madison...I'm sorry about all the stuff I said to you. I was just upset..." Sakura said sincerely. "Will you ever forgive me?"

"Of course!" Madison replied. "It was just a little disagreement. So what's up?"

"There are clow cards about and we need some battle costumes..." Sakura asked. "And you're right, it was just a little disagreement. It's not like I flew your model air plane into a power line or put a pair of underpants in your toaster..."

"WHAT?!" Madison asked, totally Mystified. "I'll be right there and...never mind, I won't even ask...!"

Sakura pushed the end button and she turned to Todd. "She'll be coming...wait! I didn't even..."

A helicopter landed in the field away in mere seconds. Sakura's face went blank as Madison rushed over to her. "I'm here!" Madison saw the thunder cloud headed towards them slowly and she nodded. "I've got just the thing. I'll be back in a second."

All Sakura and anyone else could do was stare in total blankness. Madison hopped out of the brush and she was holding some cyber rose cat costumes. "Non conducting titanium and rubber! Rubber will protect you from lightning."

Todd stared at himself in the mirror and sighed heavily. The costume was no different except for the guys, the pink was changed to green and the dress was changed to loose fitting pants. The cat ears, the neck bell and the tail were still the same. Sakura smiled, embarrassed. "I wore this the last time I fought the Thunder card."

"This will protect me from lightning huh...?" Todd stared. "Rats, now I'm hoping that lightning will strike me and save me the humiliation."

"Oh come on! It's very fashionable." Madison replied, zooming in on her camera.

Todd took out the fly card and said. "Well, Li. Let's get this show on the road. Let's fly!!" Todd slammed the fly card and Todd and Li hopped on. "On to the fight! Wait! How will we be protected from the wind?"

"Now Element! WIND!!" Li placed the element on his sword. A circular shield of wind surrounded them as they climbed in altitude. They entered the cloud as thunder loomed and crackled around them as lightning lit up the interior of the nimbus. Todd and Li and Kero looked up as they saw the bright light above. They rode the spear to the top of the cloud where a ship sat on the cloudy top. Todd and Li advanced on the card and saw a small girl at the wheel. She was dressed in odd clothing and had really curly hair. She smiled as she waved defiantly to them. She raised her hands and danced a dance that sent out a tornado towards them.

"The storm card! Watch out!!" Kero warned. "It can create tornadoes!"

The tornado crashed against their shield and knocked them off balance but were still all right. Todd and Li jumped onto the ship's deck and smiled. "It'll take more than that! Now come along!"

Storm shook her head and jumped into the cloud's dense barrier. Todd looked over the edge and Li did too. He turned to Todd and said. "Where did she go?!"

"The Thunder card is here as well...beware, it's strong." Kero warned again.

Thunder jumped out of the cloud. Thunder roared and sent a bolt of lightning at them. Todd and Li jumped to the side and they gasped to find that Storm is riding on Raijuu's back. Todd took out the firey and windy card and gave the firey card to Li. "We'll take them down together!"

"Okay!" Li replied.

Todd threw the Windy card up and chanted. "Windy...attack the Thunder and Storm duo! Windy! Release and Dispel!" Todd slammed the card with his spear and the card broke into yellow beams which formed into Windy's shape.

Li stuck the Firey card with his sword point and he chanted. "Firey! Todd wants me to summon you to attack the Thunder Storm card duo! Release!" The card broke into red swirls of energy and formed into Firey's shape.

Firey and Windy lunged to attack Storm and Thunder but missed. Thunder roared and pelted Windy with lightning. Windy was knocked back and Firey caught her. Firey waved his arm to create a fireball which blasted the duo. The duo took the hit and a big puff of smoke arose from it. Storm raised a hand and her eyes glowed. She formed a grey mass in her palm and shot it in shots at fiery which all pelted him with dusty wind energy. Firey fell backward.

"Aren't the elemental supposed to be stronger than the normal cards!?" Todd asked.

"Well, Windy isn't really meant for attacking and you just caught Firey a little while ago. The longer the cards are with you, the stronger they get." Li responded and shot a bolt of lightning at Thunder and Storm. "Lightning!"

"Magic Missile!!" Todd shouted as he launched his magic missile at the pair, blasting them from behind. They stared angrily at Todd which Todd went blank and smiled nervously and pointed to Li. "It was him."

They dove down at them and Todd and Li hit the deck of the ship, missing wind and lightning. Todd turned to Firey who was shooting fireballs at them while windy was attempting to bind them. "Maybe I should also bring out the water Card..."

"No don't do that!" Kero shouted. "Watery and Fiery are enemies! Doing that would make them fight!"

Thunder roared another crackling bolt of lightning which zapped Windy and Firey. Storm then blasted a tornado at them which sent them for a nauseating ride. Windy used her arms as whips but the duo moved too fast to get hit. Firey sent out a flame-thrower like blast which they got caught in, Thunder and Storm got pushed back and broke free of the flames.

"What am I supposed to do then?" Todd asked Kero, nervous and irritated. "They're getting trounced!"

"Whoa!" Li shouted as they ducked another attack care of Thunder and Storm. "We have to think of something..."

"Well...Windy and Firey are already out...and Water will fight with Firey...Wood wouldn't be any good in this situation and I don't have Shadow or any of the Mysterious Stranger's cards...not that she'd be any help right about now..." Todd thought. "I don't know...wait!" Todd smiled weirdly and sort of glared stupidly with the Flower card. "This will have to do..."

Li went mystified. "What do you hope to do with that?! Give the enemies some flowers and hope you charm them over to our side?"

"Well...anything would be good!" Todd replied dumbly as he threw the Flower card up and slammed it with his spear. "Flower card release and dispel! Send forth a rain of flowers!" The card broke into thousands of flower petals and they swirled around everywhere.

Thunder, Storm, Windy and Firey all stopped what they're doing and looked at Todd. They all gave him a look of total blankness. Todd smiled stupidly and a giant swear drop appeared on the back of his head ."Sorry! It was the only thing I could think of! Firey! Windy! Now's the time! Tropic winds that sear and burn, save on their souls, Plasma Storm!!!" Todd raised his spear.

Windy and Firey circled around Thunder and Storm with blinding speed, and then they formed the atom symbol out of crimson energy. Then the symbol exploded in a firey flash of lightning and flame. When the smoke cleared, the Thunder and Storm cards were charred black. They blinked in disbelief and Todd jumped on the ship rail. "Return to your power confined! Thunder and Storm!!"

Todd brought his spear down and a card appeared on the head. Thunder and Storm broke into a mass of energy and formed into the card. The picture appeared and the storm card flew to Li and Li took it. The Thunder Card flew to Todd and todd pocketed it. He ran to the wheel and said. "This is pretty cool..."

"Awesome!! You summoned the specialty spell that Firey and Windy have!" Kero cheered. "Woo hoo!!"

"Storm Card! Release and dispel!" Li summoned the Storm Card with his sword. "Could you you please take this thing to the ground?"

Storm navigated the ship down to the ground where Sakura, Madison, Meilin and Miss. Mackenzie were. Todd lowered a rope ladder down to Sakura and asked. "Hey guys...how about we go for a ride before this ship disappears?"

"Sure!" Meilin replied as she climbed the rope ladder.

Everyone else climbed the ladder and jumped on board of the ship. Sakura looked around and mused to herself. "Wow...this looks so cool..."

"It's a ship made of magic." Miss Mackenzie replied. "Storm and Thunder must have been playing on it. How about if we have the rest of our picnic here?"

"Yeah!" Madison replied. "I'm sorry for saying those things to you..." she bowed apologetically. "I only hope that you can forgive me...so are we still friends?"

"We're only friends if we're the best of friends!" Sakura replied cheerily. "Let's have our picnic!"

Todd nodded and smiled warmly as he jumped down from the railing, hair blowing in the wind and the sun shining in his eyes. "Yeah Sakura, let's have our picnic! This...is going to turn out to be a great day!!"

They all smiled as they dug into their picnic treats. The spread was filled with every kind of picnic goodies imaginable and Storm smiled as she took the ship upward and into the clouds. Todd smiled as he got up and rushed to the railing and looked down on the world below, the clouds below floating by and the sun shining beautifully up above and he said. "...It really is going to be a great day..."

Cards Captured

Next time on Card Captor Todd!

"Alright! I got the card!" Todd smiled as the card flew into his hand. "Well...thanks everyone. Let's go home, we have that test tomorrow."

"You're such a pain in the butt, capture card's whenever I'm not in the vicinity!" Kero said as he attempted to walk away but fell off of Li's head and onto his face. "Whaaat! I'm only a few inches tall!"

*            *          *

"...So" Madison said. "We're obviously stuck in each other's bodies so...we'll have to meet here again for the transformation spell to be reversed."

"How am I going to explain this to Wei?" Li asked, crossing his arms but started to poke around his chest.

"Stop touching my boobs!" Kero snapped angrily. "You may be in my old body but that doesn't mean you can play with my merchandise!!"
