Webmaster's Notes: It is unfortunate that in a war that lasts for only a single year a weapon that is cutting edge one month is considered a relic the next. Though used in some number at the outbreak of the One Year War, by the time things were in full swing the MS-05B was being replaced rapidly by the MS-06C and MS-06F Zaku II. Zaku Is would still be used, however, for manual labor, low danger missions such as colony gassing, and in combat by pilots who simply couldn't adjust to newer mobile suits. Zaku Is would again be called to the front lines during Zeon's greatest time of need, the Earth Federation's Operation Star One. The MS-05B was more heavily produced than its A type predecesor and was similar in many ways to the Zaku II, though often armed with a 105mm machine gun or 280mm bazooka more primative than the Zaku II's standard weapons.
