Neuen Bitter

Major General Neuen Bitter was the leader of a secret Zeon base in Eastern Africa's Kimberlite diamond mine, with ten Mobile Suits and one old Heavy Launch Vehicle under his command. After Gato's escape from Aulstralia, he is dropped of at Kimberlite by the Jukon sub. Bitter has Gato and the stolen Physalis Gundam loaded into the H.L.V.. On the Albion, Orville, an Aneheim technician who had gotten Gato into Torrington base, is found out by the Albion's crew and escapes in a Core Fighter. Fearing that Orville will lead the Albion to Kimberlite, Bitter orders the Core Fighter destroyed, and two Zaku F2's shoot it down, though Orville manages to eject. Kou Uraki in the Gundam, Chuck Keith in a GM Cannon II, and Bernard Mansha in a GM Custom chase the Zakus, who are leading them in the opposite direction of Kimberlite, and fall into an ambush. The Albion follows Orville's original flight Path, and sees the billows of smoke from the ready to launch H.L.V.. Bitter leads his remaining Zaku F2s and Dom Tropens in an attack against the Albion to get time for the H.L.V. to launch. As his group is steadilly destroyed, Bitter and one other Zaku F2 jet up over the Albion. As the other Zaku is shot down, Bitter comes right over the Albion's bridge. With an aim of his 120 mm machinegun and a cry of "You will see our spirit now!"... Bitter is impaled by a beam cannon blast from the returning Gundam, and drops to the ground. Gato makes it to space in the H.L.V., and the remaining Zeons at Kimberlite surrender, as Bitter had ordered earlyer. Though their attack only did minor damage to the Albion and caused damage to one GM Custom, The Zeons at Kimberlite played an instrumental role in Operation stardust. Bitter gave Gato a sizable diamond, which gato clutched as he was blasted into space.

Near the end of the war, the Zeonic Company introduced an upgraded version of the Zaku II, the MS-06F2. The F2-type was lighter, which made it more fuel efficient and giving it a longer flight time. It also had a more powerful generator than the old MS-06F types. The armor protecting the cockpit was improved, as was the overall performanc eof the suit, making it more equal to the Earth Federal Forces' RGM-79 GM. After the war, many F2-types remained in service, some remaining with Zeons in wait for battle, and some being used as field test units by the Earth Federal Forces.
