*Author’s note: Finally! I’ve written something for what had seemed like weeks, probably a month already. I do not own GW for the gazillionth time! I wish I could say I own Zechs and Noin but sadly, I can’t because they’re sole properties of Sunrise, TV Asahi, Sotsu Agency and Bandai. Some parts of the story had been taken from the series although it’s not exactly like it. It got a little tweaking. I haven’t seen the series itself for three years... (Let that alone be a warning for you when you read this fic...) And damn! Do I miss it! C&C’s are most welcome!*

A pale, raven-haired lady sat herself down on her bed, her eyes searching the endless darkness of space. She sighed softly, running her fingers her right cheek in exasperation. It’s been a very long day. She wouldn’t have cared at all, really, but with the stern face of the man she loved on the screen, declaring an all-out war to ‘end all war’...It’s a different thing.
She sighed again and buried her face in her hands. This was too much for her. Too much... It hurt her. It hurt her bad. Her golden prince...How?
Zechs, you bastard! Her mind screamed.
What were you thinking? You know I would do anything for you. Anything, Zechs! I’d follow you to the very end of the universe! Anything---anywhere! But what’s this? A war to end all wars?
Zechs... You know I’ve always believed in you. You know I’d always be by your side come what may... But this time it’s different Zechs. I just have to stand up for what I believe in and I know what I believe in is right, Zechs.
I know it’s our friendship that’s in the line, here. But I just have to sacrifice on love for another. Zechs, I love you. But I don’t think what you did was right. That’s why I have to protect the world from you. This is too much, Zechs. Too much...
She sighed, looking up hopefully at the stars, her deep blue eyes welled with tears. Let me talk to you...

The White Fang leader marched to his room. He did it. He made it known to the world already, but something deep inside of him is haunting him.
He entered his private quarters, took of his coat and sat on the chair beside the large glass window.
"Relena..." He said softly, "Noin..."
Will you forgive me for what I’ve done? It’s for the good of all. I know you both hated the war... But...
He sighed again, groaning as he kneaded his left shoulder gently to remove the tension. Yes, what I did was right. I know you will hate me. That doesn’t matter now.
He stood up, walked to the window and touched it lightly, feeling its coldness seep through his gloved fingers. "Lucrezia..." her name escaped his lips once again. He looked down sadly at his feet and sighed. I’m sorry. I failed you again... I know this will be very difficult for us. He looked out into deep space, the stars reminding of her beautiful blue eyes --- how it twinkled whenever he held her close.
He looked away in shame, and looked up and around his steel room. It was his sanctuary. The cold metal had been a part of him ever since he was a child. The cold... He sighed again, knowing that with what he had done, he would never --- ever be worthy of the warmth of her smile...Her love, and worst of all, her friendship. And never of his sister’s trust and love as well.
"Relena...Lucrezia...forgive me," He said finally, his voice thick with emotions. He took his coat, fitted himself in the woolen article and made his way out of his quarters. He had enough rest, it’s time to go back to work.

Noin buried her face in her hands. She had been hunched over like that for some time, thinking...thinking.
She bit her lip, raised her head and gasped for air. Just then, a knock from the metal door came, and she stood up to unlock it.
"Hey, it’s Sally." The honey-blonde woman said, managing a small smile as she entered. Noin nodded and motioned for her to sit down.
"No, this won’t be long." Sally said as Noin sat down and looked up at her. "What is it?"
Sally folded her arms across her chest and said, "Noin, I know what you’re feeling,"
Noin looked down and nodded.
"I know it’s hard to take what you just heard and saw there... And I want you to know that it’s okay if you would want to ---"
"No, Sally." Noin said, looking at her hard, "I won’t give up this fight." She looked down, and sighed, "I’m just weak at the moment. That’s all."
Sally nodded and smiled. "Later." She said with a wave of her hand and the door slid shut.
Noin looked up to where her comrade had gone, she whispered, "Yes, I won’t give up this fight." And with those words, she stood up, exited her room and headed towards the hangar.

Noin fitted herself inside her white space suit and pushed herself up to Zero G just when she heard a voice call her from the entrance, and she cocked her head to find Quatre following her.
"Miss Noin! Where are you going, Miss Noin?" he shouted out, pushing himself into Zero G as well.
Noin sighed. Knowing the boy, she had no doubt he was probably worried about her too. "I’m going to talk to him." She said, senseless as she landed on the surface of her Taurus.
"Let me go with you, Miss Noin!" he said, still following her.
"No."
"It’ll be dangerous out there."
Noin sighed. She was tired already. Having no time to argue, he let the boy do as he wish, and zoomed out into space. The desire to be with Zechs once again burning in her heart...
