More than Friends

Zechs stepped out of the car to face the deserted base. He breathed in deeply of the thought that he and his beloved friend, Noin, once trained here for OZ. He walked in the base and shivered while he heard the front sign squeak while being blown with the wind saying WELCOME TO THE LAKE VICTORIA OZ BASE. He finally came across the warehouse that once kept the mobile suits in stock. The wind blew inside the empty warehouse and dirty piece of paper blew at the front of his feet. He picked it up and once he looked at it his eyes almost swelled up with tears. For the piece of paper was a picture of him and Noin after the won a battle many years ago. He thought after the war between White Fang and Earth, Noin had died in battle like he almost did. But little did he know that Noin was still alive. During the time him and Noin spent together, his emotions for her arose like a volcano and never told her how much she meant to him. And he regretted it.
Noin stood at the end of the hill staring at the nearby lake. That place was where Noin almost confessed everything at Zechs from what she kept inside about him. Sadly but true, she stocked up a lot of emotions for Zechs. But she never confessed because she was recognized as a well, respected Lieutenant among her fellow officers, and Zechs, was one of them. Even though everyone thought that he was dead, Noin believed he was still alive out there, somewhere. The rumors about him not being alive made her remember the times they spent together. At one time, she almost came to the point where she almost did believe that he was gone forever. After that she never believed that again. She was too faithful. The wind blew and caressed her cheek. " It smells like Zechs, " she thought. Then a shadow came over the hill. She slightly turned around and saw the figure. " Good. I'll like some company right about now " she whispered and gave a quick smirk and laughed. But thing was, it was someone she would never suspect.
The figure came and stopped next to her. Neither of them didn't seem to care to look at each other to find out what they both looked like. Noin stepped forward and sat on the cool grass and asked the stranger.
" Care to sit with me?"
" I rather stand."
" That's fine."
The stranger walked over and stood next to Noin. They were silent for awhile until Noin decided to strike up a conversation
" Were you a soldier at the base?"
" More like an officer." the stranger replied.
" Really?" Noin said barely shocked.
" What about you?" the stranger asked.
" Lieutenant."
" Me too." the stranger replied.
Noin smiled and closed her eyes. But than she was forced to come back to reality. For the man sounded almost like some she knew. " Zech-?" but that time of thought she nearly slapped herself. To know the man she asked the question that would determine everything.
" What they call you while you served OZ?"
" They used to call me Lightning Count, but to a good friend, Zechs, Zechs Marquise."
The last two words nearly paralyzed her thoughts, and sensations went up her body exploding and destroying everything she had doubt in the past. About Zechs especially. It was now time to tell him everything.
She stood up and glared at him. She nearly screamed at what she was staring at. It was Zechs! He was still was staring at the lake as if it wasn't Noin. Her eyes filled with tears and nearly cried his name out but instead she said it in a soft, passionate whisper.
" Zechs!"
She watched and smiled as Zechs opened his eyes and as they widened from shock. For he knew that voice. He didn't want to believe and believe it at the same time. For all this time he thought she was dead. He slowly turned his to where Noin was staring, crying, and smiling at the same time. His eyes began to fill up with tears then they flew down his cheeks as he began to laugh from happiness. Noin gave a short laugh and let her heart do everything. She ran towards him crying and yelling his name. She hugged him tightly and cried making her cheeks turn into a bright crimson. Then and there she said what she wanted to say for a long time.
" I love you." she whispered. Zechs wrapped around his arms around her back and squeezed her tightly and whispered back,
" I love you forever."
She laughed and looked up at his face. She took out her hand and put it against his forehead and then put back his bangs to look at his eyes. He leaned closer and whispered ' Noin ' then she rolled her eyes and put her two fingers on his lips.
" For the rest of our lives would you mind calling me by my first name?" she said sarcastically.
" And what would that be?" he asked.
" …Lucrezia…" she answered.
" Beautiful, but? What do mean ' our ' lives?" he said while giving her a bad look.
She laughed and looked sideways to think. She smiled, closed her eyes, and shook her head in disbelief. Then she turned her head towards Zechs and opened her eyes to confront him.
" Zechs," she gave a brief sigh and looked at him again. " Let's just set the record straight. OK?" she smirked.
Then the moment came that they been waiting for. Noin leaned forward towards Zechs and Zechs leaned towards Noin. They closed their eyes and ended up kissing each other and not stopping. They waited for this moment and so they made it seem like heaven.
…Meanwhile…
Another figure stood at the top of the hill watching the two people embrace each other through a passionate kiss, then another figure joined him.
" Too bad there isn't any popcorn." Duo smirked.
" Let's leave those two alone awhile and let's get something to eat man." Heero answered.
" We finally darn did it!" Duo yelled
" Give me five!" Heero answered with a big grin on his as he and his friend locked their hands in a high five. They let go and laughed while shoving each other back and forth back to the cars that escorted the two there so they can meet again. They looked up to see Relena, Quatre, Trowa, and Wufie talking. They stopped and looked at the two coming back.
" So?" Wufie started." What happened?" the other three said.
The two friends threw their arms to the side and shrugged at the same time and said, " Mission complete!" the two said at the same time as if it happened every day. All six burst into laughter cause' they never say that unless it was a very serious mission. They got into the cars and left the newly begun lovers still into their kiss. Meaning that a man and woman can also be more than friends.
