Mornings were always thought to be peaceful, comfy, but this morning was different…
It all started when Heero went hollering like hell as he ran about the state mansion. Started banging his fist on a large carved oak door, confusedly calling out, "Zechs! Lucrezia!!" The prince just had to get up as fast as lightning to shut his brother-in-law up before he awakes Nicholas, their one-year-old baby, with dark hair like his mom's and ice blue eyes like his dad's. "What seems to be the problem?" he asked, rubbing the sleep off his eyes.
He was a little drowsy, short strands sticking out from his long flaxen hair, but Heero didn't pay attention to that. He stood there, holding on the wall, panting. "It-it's time." he choked. Zechs rubbed his neck and asked as a matter-of-factly, "Time for what? Heero, it's five in the morning!" Just then Lucrezia came to his side, her short ebony hair all tousled. Marie Lucille tugged along on her mother's pink silk dress. "Okay," he breathed, "here's the short story: Relena. Pain. Baby---" "Oh my god!" Zechs had already rushed to his sister's room, followed by his wife who had just called the housemaid to take care of Lucy and Nick.
"Need help…" Heero finished off before sprinting back to his room.
Relena was there, clutching her blanket tightly, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Heero…" she croaked, reaching out a hand as the three barged into the room. It was almost a year past the not-so-disastrous marriage, and now she was gonna give birth, hopefully not in an almost-disastrous way… "I'm here. It's gonna be alright." he reassured, holding her hand. "Have you called the doctor?" Lucrezia asked, touching Heero's shoulder as she sat by his side. He looked at her. "Uh…no? You're a doctor, right?" Lucrezia almost fainted when she heard that but just went, "I don't do this kind of stuff. Well, I know only a little."
Zechs just sighed and volunteered to call the doctor, while Lucrezia told Heero to get some hot water and clean baby clothes from their cabinet. "It's gonna be okay." She said softly, running her hand through her long light-brown hair. "Uh, it's not hard, is it?" she asked in an unsure manner. Lucrezia laughed at that. "No, it's not…" then started to consider "Well at first, you'd feel as if you can't, but really, it's not." Relena forced a smile and nodded.
Zechs returned a while later, saying, "She'd be here in ten minutes." "What?! Ten minutes?! I can't last that long!" Relena cried out, almost sitting up and Lucrezia had to hold her shoulder to control her movements and lay her back gently. "You'd last that long." Then she turned to her husband. "Are you sure that's the fastest?" He nodded and sat beside her and his sister.
"Mommy? Daddy?" a little girl entered the room with his uncle Heero carrying a porcelain bowl with hot water. Lucy was carrying a towel as well. "Why are you here?" Zechs asked of her daughter who nonetheless sat on his lap. "What's wrong?" she asked him, looking all concerned, her dark blue eyes staring at his. "Nothing's wrong. It's just that Aunt Relena's gonna have a baby." He said with a small smile as he tucked his daughter's long blonde bangs behind her ear. "Does that mean little brother and I are gonna have a new playmate?" she asked. Her mother, who was soaking the towel with hot water and gently dabbing it onto Relena's face, laughed softly. "Yes, honey. You're gonna have a new playmate. By the way, how's Nick doing?" she asked, looking at her pretty daughter with a soft smile. "Nick's sleeping now." she said in her cute baby voice.
"Why don't you sleep then? It's still early." Zechs suggested, but Lucy shook her head. "I wanna see it." she replied. "But you'll see your cousin later. Promise. Just go and sleep." Heero chimed in, his lips curved in a half-smile at his niece. The little girl pursed her lips and pouted. "But-but-"
"No buts." Lucrezia said, looking at her with dark eyes. The girl nodded and Zechs carried her out of the room…
Just then, the doctor came and went on with the process. Introduced herself as Dr. Anna Potter. Looks like on her early thirties. Heero went out of the room and stayed outside on a couch. Lucrezia stayed in to assist the doctor for she knows almost all that has to be done. After about what seems to be several hours, a cry rang out throughout the mansion. They knew it all at once. The baby was born. Heero was the first one to make his way into the room, and see the warm expression on Lucrezia's face, who was holding TWO sobbing babies in her arms. "What-what…" His sister-in-law looked at him with a smile, "Twins!" Heero was all taken by surprise, couldn't believe that they actually have twins. Dr. Potter approached him and shook his hand. "Congratulations, Mr. Yuy. You have two healthy babies." She smiled at him and fixed her stuffs.
He let out a sigh of relief as he sat down the side of the bed. Relena was resting, her face relieved, peaceful, and happy…He reached out to touch her hand and he turned to the doctor, "You came just in time." The doctor smiled and told them that she'd better get going because there was yet, another emergency. Heero and Lucrezia thanked her before she stood by the door. "Goodbye, and again, congratulations!" She said before going out the room. "Oh, look, they're both cute." Lucrezia mused as she looked at the twins' faces. "Are they---?" "Boys." Heero smiled, completely now. Zechs entered the room just minutes after and felt so excited in knowing that they had twin boys. Lucy had fallen asleep and he left her tucked in her bed. He knelt by Lucrezia, watching as the two suck on their thumbs.
"They're so cute. What are you gonna name them?" he asked of Heero, who just shrugged and went, "I think Ryu and Ryan." "Then it's Ryu and Ryan." Somebody chimed in, her voice muffled. It was Relena. She was smiling at them, particularly at Heero. "If that's what you want…May I see them?" she said, reaching out as Lucrezia carefully placed them in Relena's arms. The latter smiled affectionately, saying, "Oh, look, their eyes are like their father's." Heero grinned… "But I hope they won't grow up to be like their father." She added with emphasis while they just broke off into laughter, with Heero joining along after a few seconds of contemplation…
Zechs and Lucrezia went out of the room, leaving the new family in privacy. "Let's wait for some time and this place will be full of kids." Zechs muttered as he wrapped his arm around her. She raised a perfect eyebrow at him and went, "Maybe." He grinned and kissed her on the forehead as she slid her arm around his waist. "Zechs?" "Yes?" "Don't tell me you're planning on another one…" she stared at him just as he started smiling. "Why? What if I say I am?" She poked him playfully on the rib "Milliard Peacecraft!" she exclaimed as if scolding him. "Oh, come on, Lu! Let's start on it right now---There's plenty of time…" he said in a teasing manner, scooping her in his arms and carrying her towards their room. "Zechs…!"
