She went out of her bathroom, clothed only her white, cotton robe and a towel on her head. She shook the water from her hair and headed towards the kitchen while doing so. She took a tea bag and her favorite mug, the dark blue one with the stars and the moon painted on it.

Nothing like a hot tea before she goes to sleep...Just to calm her sprits down. If the truth be known, she is getting tired – almost sick of this ‘war’ thing. It’s not yet at the peak, just starting, and she could already picture it on her mind.

The deaths – the horrible deaths mostly of the innocents – she could already see it now.

She sighed as she poured hot water onto her mug. She was tired. She needed a break, just to sort things out in her mind...

Humility’s easing my ego down
The past holds the truth like a lost and found

She remembered her own life. When there was yet no war. She was a happy child, together with her mother, father, and her siblings. She had everything she could crave for. She was a proud child, because not only was her family belonging to Italy’s upper crust, but she was also the youngest. But she never took them for granted. She studied hard, worked on her own, and she couldn’t be more proud of all her achievements.

They loved and gave her a lot. She could swear they would risk everything for her -– just to keep her safe.

And they did.

She never knew about the truth. She never realize what nightmare they really have been facing.

She closed her eyes as the images flashed through her mind.

No, she couldn’t be remembering it like this. She had vowed to forget about it...move on...

And she did. But to think that it was who she was serving that took away her family, her happiness...The Federation.

But she couldn’t do anything. For her to survive, to set the right thing in order, she must do this. Be one of them...And fight. Fight not for the Federation, but for love, for what is true, and what is right.

Her father taught her that.

There’s no need to worry
No need to be scared
Cos little things would come along
And life’s never fair, no
No...

She stirred the bag absent-mindedly. The tears had started to form in her eyes, and she hastily wiped it away. She promised herself she would never cry. Ever, because that was a sign of weakness. And she mustn’t be weak. She must fight. Even if that would be the last thing she’d ever do in her life. She would fight, for her family, and for Zechs.

Zechs...

She had also sworn to him. She swore that she would always be at his side no matter what. That she would be faithful to him and only him...Because she loved him. And because she knew that it would be him that would make all of her dreams possible. She would stick with him...even till her last breath.

She will love and protect him for eternity.

The little things we hide
The little things inside
Don’t want to show them that I’ll be alright
Oh, oh...
