Chapter 2: Pool of Crimson
When the tall man had reached Noin’s apartment, he knocked or rather pounded on the cold metal. He was
met only by silence. After a few moments, Zechs’ worry grew too extreme. He broke the glass covering over the
axe near Noin’s door, and grabbed the heavy weapon. Swinging with all his might, Zechs broke off the
doorknob and the door craked open. Keeping the axe by his side, he searched each and every room. Walking
through the bedroom door, the blonde man saw light coming from behind the bathroom door. He tried to open
it, but found it locked “Noin?” he asked. Nothing. No sound at all.
Stepping back from the oak barrier, Zechs once again swang the axe at the doorknob. As soon as it broke, he
set the heavy object to the side. He opened the door, eyes going wide in fear and his eyes misted over.
There lay Lucrezia Noin, his best friend, closest companion, and the object of his desire. Pale porcelon
skin, silky raven hair, lying in a pool of...crimson. Crimson. Several deep slashes ran down both of
Lucrezia’s arms.
