Long ago, during the time of the Silver Millenium, a kingdom on the moon existed... and a beautiful princess lived.
She was the portrait of innocence, a delight to everyone around her. Her beauty was matched by the kindness of her heart. Her name was Serenity. She lived and she loved. This is her story... Princess Serenity lived on the moon with her mother, Queen Serenity. There is no mention of her father in the series. Four sailor senshi were assigned to protect her -- Sailors Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus. Their kingdom was known as the Silver Millenium, and she was the heiress as her mother ruled. Princess Serenity spent most of her time amongst the flowers in the palace gardens. Ice skating was one of the most popular activities on the moon, and she was very good at it. She did not particularly like studying her lessons. Everything was perfect in her kingdom but the free-spirited princess longed for something else. She wanted the freedom to roam about sprawling meadows... to feel the cool breeze on her face, the way people did on the earth. Thus, she would often sneak off to earth. Princess Serenity soon fell in love with Prince Endymion of the earth. People of the moon were not supposed to make contact with earth people, but this did not stop them... Prince Endymion of the Earth. Serenity loved him the moment she laid eyes on him. She was happiest with him, and they would meet as often as opportunity would allow. But fate did not smile on them... Time came when the Moon Kingdom came under siege. The evil sorceress Beryl seized control of Endymion's generals and troops. Endymion rushed to warn Serenity, but it was too late. Chaos and fighting broke out, all of the Sailor Senshi perished defending the Kingdom. Beryl wanted Endymion for herself. Endymion stood his ground by Serenity's side. Beryl killed Endymion, Serenity followed him in death. Queen Serenity saw her whole kingdom crumble and her only child die. She used the Magical Silver Crystal to seal the evil forces... at the cost of her own life. The queen's physical body soon vanished, but her soul remained vigilant. Thus, Princess Serenity, Endymion and all the sailor senshi were set to be reborn on Earth for another chance at life... someday, their memories would awaken, and they would remember... |
