"Lucemon, go keep an eye on Takashi. I'm going over to Aya, finding out more about her," Eros said, he had many ideas pop into his mind of how he can make this work out.

"Remember, stage one is friendship!"

Seto saw this strange cat creature and followed it to where he could hear a lot of noise. The creature stopped at looked at him. "Meeting new people can be a good thing. Don't look so nervous."

Seto gazed in amazement. "You talked!" he said, "you're no cat."

"Just call me Auroramon. I'm a digimon. Come on! Everyone's met eachother."

Juuso got back to the others..

"Hey!, and btw I am Juuso.. nice to meet you all" said Juuso

"Hey Lucemon!, long time no see!" grinned Wormmon.

"Wait. You're going to be our leader?" Tova said. "You're really short for someone who's going to lead us. Are you sure you'll be able to do that?" She didn't say it in a mean way; just in a curious sort of tone, because while Tova wasn't that tall, Kae looked much, much shorter, and in her experience, the shortest did not get his way.

"Remember that it doesn't matter how tall you are, it is calculated by mental age and wisdom" said Juuso and grinned at Tova.

"I don't think we should choose a leader until we've got to know eachother better and have a better idea about who would make the best leader. And when we do choose, I think we should all vote on who should be the leader," Hannah said. She lowered her eyes, "I don't suppose anyone agrees with me, though."

Kae was glad for the support from Juuso, and flashed him a smile before turning to address Tova and Hannah.

"Juuso's right, age doesn't matter. I can lead the group. And, Hannah - that's your name, right? - Aya suggested that earlier, but no one else wanted to be leader. So, I'm leader. I'll be a good leader." All except the last sentence was pointed authority, while the last sentence was snide assurance. Isamon gave his most winning smile to Tova and Hannah, as if saying 'C'mon, it's alright, let her lead.'

Takashi sighed. That bratty arrogant, not that he wasn't arrogant either, girl was still getting on his nerves. "I agree with Hanny. You . . ." He said towards Kae, "MAY be a good leader. . But we can judge that for ourselves AS we go on. I think it'd be best for no leader for now and just work together as a group." he suggested, which was more of a 'I just don't want her as leader so this is the best I can deal with.'

Ishimon nodded. "I agree with Takashi. We aren't yet FIT to have a leader until something has happened."

"I agree with Hannah as well," said Aya, "No offense to you, but you may not be good enough as leader, and we wouldn't know it. Like I said before, after a while, we will candidate and give votes, like a proper election! Plus, we don't need a leader. I believe we need to get out of here, and to go that, we need to work TOGETHER. We need more than one leader mind." She went next to Hannah and put a reassuring hand on her shoulder, "Like this lady over here did!"

Tamagomon blinked, "Go home? You humans are not to go home until you do what was assigned to you! Why you came here in the first place!"

"...We're here for an actual *reason*?!" asked Aya.

"Of course! You humans were selected for a special purpose!"

"You mean you didn't know?" Fukimon asked, genuinely astonished, "We've been training to be your partners since we were born! You were brought here to save the Digital World!"

"This worm? Training since I was BORN?! T-t-t-t-t-t-then why is THIS DUDE SO MEAN? I mean, why us?!"

Kae pouted, but there wasn't very much she could do about it now. Isamon chuckled.

"Why you, you ask? Because you were best fit for the crests, as were we Digimon. Anyway, you're here to save the world from --- " Isamon was cut off as a loud roar echoed through the forest. Kae, instantly alert, tensed and whirled. There was a giant red dinosaur-like Digimon looming above the Digidestined, growling and licking its lips. "It's a Tyrannomon!" Isamon yelped, crouching into a fighting position.

"You're gonna fight it?" Kae asked, calm though they were in danger, glancing at her Digimon. Isamon nodded.

"I must protect you, Kae. You're my Partner!" Kae smiled at his response, then grew serious and nodded. Kae turned to face the group.

"Alright, humans keep back! The Digimon apparently know what they're doing. Stay calm, and don't start screaming or anything; we don't know what will provoke it." With that, Kae backed off slowly, never taking her eyes off of the Tyrannomon. Isamon launched himself at Tyrannomon, a circle of glowing rocks materializing around him.

"Rockslide!" He yelled, the rocks zooming at Tyrannomon. The dinosaur Digimon growled, shook itself, and swiped a claw at Isamon. The rookie yelped in pain as he hit a tree, and slumped to the ground. Kae gasped and ran to her Digimon, forgetting her own order. Thankfully, she was small enough as so that the Tyrannomon took no notice of her. Instead, it turned its attention to the other rookies, its mouth opening and a ball of fire shooting out.

Tova grinned at Hanny. She was definitely her favourite person here.

"Hanny's right. We don't know you well, and you don't know us well. And you're quite short. I think we should run on democracy for a while, and maybe the person who could lead best will eventually take control because they're good at it. Not because they act like an Ezra and think it's their right."

Psychemon started biting her ankle again. "Stop it, Psychemon! That hurts!"

"But Tova, you need to listen to Fukimon. You're always three steps behind everyone else, you know that?"

"What?"

"You need to save the Digital World. Very simple, Tov--hey, are you paying attention?"

"Umm...sort of?"

Eros gasped at the sight of things. Suddenly, he saw Lucemon clumsily flutter away from the flames, getting his toga burnt.

"AHHH, HOT!" he said, then he plummeted into the lake, "Take this! Sun Kiss!!" Lucemon blew a kiss and a heart shaped sun made of blinding light flew towards Tyrannomon.

The Tyrannomon growled again, shaking its head before lunging a claw at Lucemon.

Aya stared at the giant Digimon, "...A GIANT DIGI-THINGYYYYYYYY!" Tamagomon stared at her, sweatdropping, "Yes. We've...noticed."

"...Won't you protect me as well?"

"...I suppose I MUST."

Tamagomon jumped towards the giant Digimon, and growled loudly, "FIERCE PECK!!!"

It went up and bit the giant dinosaur, which didn't seem to hurt him much.

"...Fierce peck? A worm pecking???" Aya tried not to laugh, as she realized their life WAS in some sort of danger.

"Wing Tornado!" shouted Lucemon. A tiny, tiny tornado flew towards the big dinosaur.

Tyrannomon hissed frustration, and lunged for the Digimon again, fireballs spewing from his mouth. These rookies were actually hurting him, and he didn't like it.

Isamon groaned, and opened his eyes. He found his head cradled in Kae's lap.

"Are you alright?" The girl asked. Isamon gave her a tired grin, and got to his feet, nodding.

"I'm fine. Don't worry. Get to safety." With that, Isamon ran towards the battle. "Okay, everyone regroup and attack together!

"ROCKSLIDE!"

Aya looked at the Digimon and then at her own. She nodded. Tamagomon retreated and looked at all the Digimon, "All together then?"

Takashi watched as a dinosaur came up. Turning to Ishimon, "I'm guessing that you're supposed to join in and fight?"

Ishimon nodded.

"Then go RIGHT ahead!" Giving the digimon the thumbs up, he stood behind the shaggy dog.

Ishimon joined in with the combined attack and used the same attack Isamon used, "Rock Slide!" He yelled.

Takashi watched on. "He's more impressive than I thought. . ."

"Sun kissies!" yelled Lucemon, as a myriad of bright heart shaped suns floated through the air.

"Uh...are you sure these things hurt people?" Eros said, flicking one.

"They hurt digimon, but not humans"

Tova noticed suddenly that hey, look, there was another big Digi...thing. "Psychemon," she asked casually, "What's that?"

"Tyrannomon," Psychemon replied, giving her a withering look. "We have to fight Tyrannomon right now. Please pay attention???"

"Okay."

Psychemon sprang forward in a half-lizard, half-cat run, yelling, "Colourful Spark!" He opened his mouth and appeared to spit fire at Tyrannomon. Well, he would have been spitting fire if fire were coloured red...then green...then violet and blue and white and oh, it was very pretty but it kept changing colour as it flew towards Tyrannomon.

"Wormmon, what can you do to that Digimon?" wondered Juuso. "I can shoot a silk net towards it, it will help the other digimon hit it." said Wormmon

"Then do it!" yelled Juuso

"Sticky net!" yelled Wormmon and a net flew towards Tyrannomon's claw, locking it to the ground for a while.

"Now is your chance guys!, do your attacks!" yelled Juuso to the other digimon

"This is all moving way too fast for me!" Fukimon said, dodging here and running there."RIBBON WHIP!" she attacked, doing a fancy little twirl, "How's that for a cute pink ribbon?"

Aya looked at all the Digimon's attacks and glared at her own, "Fierce Peck? Pathetic!"

Hearing Aya's comment, Takashi glared at her. "What the hell does it matter? That digimon's protecting you, right? Don't be so picky." He was getting worried; he didn't really want anyone to be hurt, despite how he acted at times.

"Two, four, six, eight, who do we appreciate? Gooooo DIGIMON!" she called, jumping around like a cheerleader.

"Two, four, six eight, who do we appreciate? Gooooo US!" Fukimon, basically, copied her partner.

"Why do I care? Because that Digimon's fighting for our survival. . . And if all you do is poke fun at it, then what's the use in it protecting you?" He said aggravated. Afterwards though, he heard Hanny and chuckled softly. "At least she has the right idea. . ."

Aya glared and felt the urge to stick out her tongue, but remembering his last comment on that, she didn't.

"YOU only talk like that because YOU aren't a spoiled brat! HA!"

Tamagomon just sweatdropped, "If her negative comments are so bad I don't want to hear her positive ones..."

Takashi stared at her in complete . . . disgust. "Spoiled brat? Like I'd WANT to be. I bet you've never worked for anything in your ENTIRE life. And in my opinion, that makes you a person who will never amount to anything in your life." He glared at her and spun around, shaking his head. He turned to look at Ishimon and hoped that they would get rid of that darn dinosaur.

Tyrannomon, roaring in pain, collapsed, and dissolved. Kae smiled in relief, and ran up to Isamon.

"Awesome!" She exclaimed, hugging her Digimon. "You guys were great, all of you!" She grinned at all the Digimon. Then, the young girl glanced at the other kids, before turning back to the Digimon. "Thanks. I'm grateful, even if the others aren't." She smirked at the other kids, as if to say: See? I'm a good leader!

"You're our Partners, of course we protect you." Isamon said, grinning goofily.

Ishimon walked over to Takashi after the battle ended and grinned. That's all he had to do before Takashi ruffled the same area and smiled back at him. "You did a good job." He complimented.

"Thanks Takashi." Ishimon replied back in a happy tone.

Takashi looked at Kae. "I think she's still trying to get the attention of the others so she can become leader. . ." He brushed back his hair, shaking his head after. "Whatever really. . . But I still won't follow a little brat like her."

Tova clapped her hands. "Yay, Psychemon! Yay, Psychemon!"

Psychemon stood up on his hind legs and bowed. "Thank you, thank you. It's nice to get some credit."

With a glance over at Kae, Tova knelt down and whispered to Psychemon, "Do you think that Kae would be a good leader?"

"No."

"Why?"

"She seems...ahh, what would the word be?" Psychemon murmured, frowning as only a lizard can. "She seems vindictive. I think that's what I'm looking for. I wouldn't want to follow her."

"Neither would I." Tova sat down cross legged next to her Digimon and watched everyone else.

"Lucemon, I never knew you can kill things!"

"Well, Eros, I'm more that just a small elf with wings you know..."

"Whatever..."

Aya sweatdropped as Takashi said his remark...

'Darn, I'm getting farther and farther away from him...'

She was glad the battle was over... she wasn't that keen on watching battles in front of her.

"...You all enjoy the violence so much," she murmured to herself, "...These monsters... you don't even wonder why they attack us... You just..."

'I wonder if these monsters have family and friends as well... How can they be so comfortable killing a creature?!'

Kae took out her digivice and glanced at it. There was a white dot, only a small distance away. Like... coming closer... in the next clearing? Since it was just behind those trees a few feet away, Kae walked over and peered around the trees. Another boy? With a Digimon, no less.

"Hey!" She called, running over. Isamon followed, and grinned when he saw the Digimon.

"Auroramon! Long time no see, eh?" Isamon proclaimed, tail wagging happily. Kae held out her hand to the boy.

"I'm Kae. Who're you?"

Eros looked at Aya and then a sigh went to him. "She can sure make older boys interested in her by her looks, but a conversation like that will kill the date!"

"I kinda see what you mean" Lucemon replied. They both noticed Kae wander over to another spot and started talking to a tree.

"Why is she talking to a tree?" Eros asked Lucemon.

"Move a step over!"

"..oh, nevermind!" Eros replied, seeing a person behind the tree.

Takashi sighed as he leaned against the tree again, just watching over the others. "Do you think we'll have to battle like that again?" He asked Ishimon, his voice soft almost filled with care.

Ishimon looked up at his partner. ". . . I suppose. . . In order for you to save the Digital World, you'll have to go against many digimon."

Takashi's face was neutral but his heart pounding said differently. "We have to kill many digimon? Is that what we have to do from now on?"

Ishimon just nodded, no words could pass through his mind to comfort Takashi.

Takashi stared at the ground, feeling somewhat weak. "This really isn't the best thing to do. . ." He muttered.

Eros approached the newbie and welcomed him. "Hi, I'm Eros!"

Seto finally came out of the bushes. "Hi everyone, I'm Seto. I am new to the internet. Is this what they call email?"

Auroramon looked at him strangely then shouted "Hi I'm Auroramon. NOT Gatomon though we look the same. I would have helped you with that Tyrannomon but my...fur needed cleaning."

Aya looked at Seto, "Nice to meet you..."

'Fighting Digimon we know nothing about...'

"Did I do good?" Fukimon asked Hannah.

Hannah grinned, "You did great."

They both noticed the new kid and his digimon enter, "Hi, I'm Hannah. Nice to meet you, Seto." Hannah introduced herself.

"And I'm Fukimon," Fukimon chimed in, "Hey, Auroramon! I was beginning to think you'd never show up!"

Takashi looked to his side and noticed the new person. "Ahh. . Some new guy. . ." He stayed in his place and just remained quiet.

Ishimon, on the other hand, walked over to introduce himself AND Takashi. "Hi Auroramon! Nice to see you again." Turning to Seto, he slightly nodded/bowed. "I'm Ishimon and my partner over there is Takashi." He said, pointing to Takashi in the small distance.

Kae grinned at the others. Then, noticing that some of the others didn't seem to like the idea of killing Digimon, she sighed and turned to Isamon.

"Hey, Isamon, by killing bad Digimon we help save good ones, right?"

"Of course." The Digimon blinked. "There are evil Digimon who want to destroy everything. Those are the ones we kill, if you could call it that. Any Digimon who 'dies' is reborn, purified, in Primary Village. That's on the other side of the island, though." Kae nodded. That made sense, considering that Digimon seemed to be nothing like humans. Some might be humanoid, like Lucemon, but none were human.

Juuso walked down to Seto and gave him a.. banana!

"Hello, I'm Juuso and this is my digimon Wormmon, I hope you enjoy the banana. The whole place is full of fruits" said Juuso to the newcomer.

"Hey!, Auroramon.. it has been a long time when we last saw eachother.." mumbled Wormmon and jumped to Juuso's arms

Aya looked over at Takashi, and slowly walked up tohim, "...Takashi... is something wrong?" She grinned,"Are you feeling... lonely again?"

"It appears that we really have nowhere to go...do you think we should look for shelter somewhere? It will be night soon, I suppose..." Eros said to them.

"I hope Aya doesn't make Takashi flip...hopefully she will say the right things now" Eros thought.

Kae breathed in, and called out so the group could hear.

"Okay, everyone! Let's go! We want to make some progress today, neh?" With that, she turned and started walking through the forest, Isamon strolling along beside her. Cocking her head as she walked, she heard the others following her, one by one. Some reluctantly, some nonchalantly, some eagerly. Well, she may not be the official leader anytime soon, but at least the others would follow - willingly or not - when she suggested they go.

After about an hour or so of walking, they came to a beach. Kae sat down, breathing a little heavily. The temperature of the island was very humid and tropical, and the nonstop walking was exhausting. Isamon sat beside her, not bothered at all by the high temperatures. But, then again, he was used to living here.

All of a sudden, the ground started shaking, and a giant Digimon came into view. Isamon's head snapped up, and he jumped in front of Kae protectively.

"It's a Raidramon," Isamon hissed, tensed for battle.

Takashi looked at Aya as she asked him a question. Completely ignoring her question, he decided to just walk off. Coincidentally enough, it was just when Kae suggested to get moving. If he had felt normal, he wouldn't have followed but he just walked behind her, staying quiet for some odd reason.

Ishimon, after introducing himself, walked beside Takashi. When they had finally reached that beach, he stared, feeling slightly uncomfortable for some reason. Something seemed to be off. . . And he was right! There a digimon appeared. "Raidramon. . ." He murmured.

Aya ran to catch up, then stepped back as the Digimon arrived, "...No... Another one!"

She stared behind her, looking for Tamagomon.

"Where is that thing?!"

Tamagomon was far behind them, sloooooooowwwwwwwwwly taking his time -.-

"Is this what they call a website, kitty?" Seto asked Auroramon, who just stared at him.He had seen such a wolf before, but Seto thought this was the internet. The teleportation to the digital world was the first time he had turned on a computer.

"Nothing but a ball of string...Nothing but a ball of string..." repeated Auroramon pacing slowly towards the creature.

"Eros, I'm too tired from the last battle to fight Raidramon, I had no food or water to replenish my health..." Lucemon said.

"Don't worry about it! Hopefully our *leader* will think of something"

Kae glanced at Eros. He was right, as leader she should think of something. No food or water...? But Isamon had had that sandwich earlier... Face set determinedly, she ran up beside her Digimon.

"Isamon, everyone else's tired and hungry, but you ate earlier. D'you think you can...?"

"Not on my own." Isamon said, glancing around at the other Digimon to see if any of them could help. "I need someone to distract --- Aw, Kae, no!" Kae had run towards the Raidramon.

"I'll distract him!" She called, grabbing a piece of driftwood that was lying on the beach, and running up to Raidramon, hitting him with it. Raidramon growled, whirled, and pounced on her, pinning her to the ground. Kae yelped, and struggled, but it did nothing. Isamon, horrified, ran towards her. Not fast enough...! Raidramon was powering up an attack. "KAE!" Kae's digivice, which she had put in her jeans pocket, began to glow. "Isamon digivolve to... Rienmon!"

Where Isamon had been was a tall, humanoid, white-skinned Digimon with black stripes on his back. The only clothes he wore were a pair of tattered brown shorts. His eyes were yellow and demonic. His hair was roughly shoulder-length and gold in color. He had a tail, at least several feet long. And in his hands was a sword, a very very long sword. His hands were almost human, except they had black claws instead of fingernails. His feet were lizardlike, with three claws.

This new Digimon, Rienmon, used his sword to swipe at Raidramon, causing the other Digimon to jump away from Kae.

"Get out of the way!" Rienmon snapped at his Partner. Kae, too shocked to protest, obediently backed away. Growling, Raidramon launched himself at Rienmon.

"Blue Thunder!" He attacked. Rienmon yelped in pain, hissing angrily. Rienmon ran at the Digimon, jumping into the air, sword raised above his head.

"Rock Falling!" He called, a brown aura forming around him as he brought his sword down, slashing through Raidramon, causing his enemy to dissolve. Rienmon turned to the kids, grinned, gave the peace sign, de-Digivolved to Isamon, and collapsed.

Hannah watched as Isamon transformed into Rienmon, and defeated Raidramon single handedly.

"I didn't know the little guy could do that." she said, softly stunned.

"Hanny!" It was Fukimon, "I'm sorry I couldn't help, Hanny." Fukimon said, ashamed.

"It's fine." Hannah told her partner.

"Really?"

"Yeah," Hannah gave Fukimon a hug, "We're all OK. That's all that matters."

Then she looked altogether more serious.

"Fukimon?"

"Uh-huh?"

"Are you going to change like that too one day?"

"Yep!"

Kae rushed to Isamon's side, placing a hand on his shoulder. The Rookie groaned.

"Whoo... Lookit all da pwetty staws..." He giggled hysterically, eyes open but half-lidded. Kae sighed, then turned to the others.

"Can we stay here tonight? I don't think Isamon's going anywhere anytime soon."

Takashi looked at the somewhat delusional Isamon and smirked. "I think that'd probably be the best idea. . ." He walked towards the ocean. "Maybe we should start getting ready for camp. Somebody should start looking for food or firewood." He suggested. "I'll go see if I can get some fish. Afterall we're by the ocean."

"Me and Fukimon'll go look for firewood," Hanny volunteered, "We'd prolly have a lot more chance of finding firewood if we go back into the woods though," She looked at the sea, and sweatdropped, "Or at least any dry firewood. Anyone wanna come with us?"

Aya blinked then ran towards Takashi.

"I-I'll go fish with you, Takashi-kun!" She rushed towards him and Tamagomon just shrugged and followed.

Takashi looked at Aya with dull eyes, he DID notice what she called him and slightly growled. "The name's TAKASHI. There is no kun attached at the end. Are you sure you even know how to fish?" He asked, pulling off his shoes and socks and wrapping up the ends of his jeans so they wouldn't get wet. "Why don't you just go help Hannah find some firewood?" He suggested instead for the female.

Aya blinked, "Eh? I always put kun at the end of people's names. I mean, we're friends now, right?" She removed her own shoes and socks, placing them on a nearby tree.

"Of course I know how to fish! I've been fishing since I was six! I also won Japan's fishing contest in 1991. I can help you LOADS."

The first thing that appeared in his head was "You CAN'T be serious. . ." Taking in her words, he shook his head. She'd probably be the last person who wouldn't be serious. Sighing, he turned to her. "Whatever you say." He glared at her though, "Just don't take this as us being friends. I have no desire to gain any friends here and I'd rather leave it at that." He turned to Ishimon. "Come. . . Let's go."

Ishimon sweatdropped. "T-Takashi. . . Don't tell me you want me to go into the water??"

Takashi blinked, "Yes. . .. Otherwise we can't FISH if we don't. . "

"Um. . . Yeah. . . I have a TAD fear of water. . ." He said timidly.

Takashi arched an eyebrow and just sighed again. "Fine. . . I can do this by myself." He murmured, rather annoyed that he had to deal with Aya for probably the 3rd time that day.

Eros decided to help everyone out by finding shelter. He and Lucemon walked along the beach and talked.

"So..this digivolution thing...any digimon can do it and there are six stages of it you say?" Eros said.

"Yes yes! But it is impossible to do if we are weak and tired. And it will only happen if we are in danger"

"Ah, I see now..Hey! Look, a cave! I'll clean it up and make it look homey. We can rest there tonight!"

Aya just shrugged off his comment, and practically jumped into the water, catching the fish with her bare hands.

"Here! Got one!"

She pulled a huge fish out of the water, and slowly walked back to shore.

"Your turn, Takashi."

The fish kept moving between her two hands, but soon... it stopped moving.

"He~, my Da's fishing techniques always work!"

Eros used the broken branch of a palm tree to sweep the dirt from the rock floor of the cave. He took some palm leaves and created beds with them. Finally, just outside the cave, he created a circular formation with shiny rocks and seashells as a fire place. He took some drenched branches and dried them in the sunlight. He wove them together to form a grill.

"Aya! Bring the fish you catch over here!" Eros called from the cave entrance.

Aya heard Eros' cry and nodded, "Sure!"

She kept the dead fish, while her Digimon, staying under the tree, stared wide-eyed.

"...How... uncivilized! Is this how humans catch their food?!"

Aya looked at him, "Nah, I only catch fish for sport. Usually, we buy them in the supermarket."

Tamagomon stared, "Super...Market? What is it, a Digimon?"

"Ehh... not really. Sorry, Tama, gotta get this fish to our cave!"

She walked towards the cave, and handed her fish in, "This should be enough for half of us! If Takashi-kun gets something around the same size, we'd be set! Unless someone was vegetarian..."

"....It's real big...and you caught that with your hands...how...masculine of you......heh" Eros said with a sweat drop. He glared at the fish that lay at his feet. He threw it on the grill and waited for more fish to arrive before he started a fire.

Takashi could hardly believe his eyes. "Pinch me. . ." He said in complete amazement. Of course he hadn't really meant it but his digimon didn't really know that, now did he? "Ouch!" Takashi yelled as he felt Ishimon's pinch. "What was that for?!"

"But you said to pinch you. . ." Ishimon pointed out.

Takashi sweatdropped. "Uh. . . . Forget it. . ." He mumbled, thinking it to be a waste of time if he tried to explain. Since this was just ABOUT his first time fishing with his hands, normally he'd use poles and all that stuff, it was kinda hard for him to grab a fish, them being extremely slippery. Luckily, he managed to get one although it was a TAD smaller than the one caught by Aya but it pleased him, nonetheless.
