Kamika blinked as she heard a familiar voice. She looked up and saw Chris. She gasped slightly, still not having moved from the ground. "I. .. I. . ." She stuttered nervously.
Chris shook his head. "Did I say something to you, or did I just imagine it? Anyway... Are you all right?" He stuck his hand out to help her up, again getting a sense of deja vu.
Kamika nodded and took his hand. She brushed herself off when she got up. She tried to avoid looking at him, knowing that he didn't remember her. She blinked away tears, hoping that he didn't see them.
Chris looked at her for a second, struggling to remember. "You're....Kamika, right?" He turned slightly red. "My....girlfriend?"
Kamika nodded still staring at the ground. "Yes. . ." She said softly.
Chris looked at her again. "What's wrong? Why won't you look at me?"
Kamika looked up, her eyes staring at his. "You don't remember me. . ." She whispered.
Chris sighed. "No....I'm afraid not. But I do want to remember. Would you help me?" He looked at her tear-streaked face. "Please, Kami-chan?"
Kamika's eyes went wide. "What. . . What did you call me?" She asked hesitantly, wringing her hands nervously.
Chris blinked, realizing what he had just said. "Kami...chan...." He rolled the words over on his tongue "Was that a nickname of yours?"
Kamika nodded slightly. She said in barely a whisper, "It was a nickname from you for me. . . ." Her eyes started to sparkle. Her thoughts jumbled. 'He's remembering!' Was the main topic.
Chris smiled, glad she was happy again. "It was? What does it mean?"
Kamika smiled weakly. "It was just a way of saying my name in Japanese. . . And shortening it in the process. . ." She said.
Chris blinked. "Really? Somehow I felt there was a deeper meaning to it than that.... but of course, there's a LARGE chance I could be wrong, considering...."
Kamika shook her head hesitantly. "Don't worry, Chris-kun. . . " Her eyes went wide. She covered her mouth. She thought to herself, 'What's he going to think??'
Chris caught what she said, amazingly so. "Chris-kun? What's THAT mean?"
Kamika blushed furiously. "The -kun is also Japanese. . . . It's only used when a female cares deeply for a male. . ." She blushed even darker.
Chris turned red. "Really..." Just then, another word popped into his mind, and he instinctively used it. "...hatsukoi?"
Kamika blinked as it translated in her mind. "First Love. . .??" She said. After that registered, she blushed.
Chris turned an even darker red. "Where did THAT one come from? Hope I didn't insult you or anything!"
Kamika shook her head, still a dark red. She sat down on the ground and sighed.
Chris blinked. Was something wrong? He sat down next to her, and looked at her. "Is something wrong?"
Kamika looked at him. "It's just a little awkward talking to you. . . especially since your amnesia was probably my fault. .. " she said.
Chris blinked, surprised. But then he remembered what TG had told him, and he sighed. "That was my fault actually, from what Taira told me."
Kamika thought to herself. "I guess. . . I guess that's true. . . " She said hesitantly.
Chris smiled and looked at her again. "Please don't blame yourself for it. It might even just have been the stress of the event happening, not your mallet!"
Kamika blinked. What he said made sense. She turned to him, "Do you. . . Do you remember anything else?" She asked curiously.
Chris shook his head sadly. "Nothing comes to mind, sorry." His hand closed on the digivice at his belt, and he held it up. He started to say, "What's this?", but only got to " What's...." His mind blanked out again, and streams of 0's and 1's started swirling through his mind's eye. He blinked, and could almost see a stream of silver connecting the digivice and his mind. Ah, yes, that was what it was, a digivice. He blinked and groaned as a torrent of information came rushing into his head. He tried frantically to process it, and then everything went black, and he collapsed.
Kamika panicked. 'What happened?!?!' She thought frantically. She took him in her arms and started to yell out, hoping someone heard her, "HELP!!!!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"No, let me go!"
"Shut up if you know what's good for you!" Chris turned to his right to see four people standing there. One of them....was HIM! Only younger. The younger Chris was surrounded by three big kids, one of which was holding him by the arm.
"Now, how about that hallway toll?"
"What hallway toll?"
"You know the rules. This hall is our turf. You cross it, you gotta pay!"
"I don't have any money!"
"Well then, you'll just have to pay a different way!"
"Get him!"
"No, please!"
The boys all advanced on him, looking rather malicious. Chris tried to shout out a warning and go help, but he couldn't move or speak. The younger Chris shook in fear, watching the 3 boys advance. Suddenly, his eyes flashed silver, and his hair seemed to turn silver, too, for a second. The 3 boy's watches all exploded simultaneously. They shouted in fear and pain, and backed off. "What kind of freak are you, man?"
The younger Chris smiled. "A freak who just kicked your butts."
Then the 4 figures disappeared, and Chris was alone on the plain again. Just then, another noise caught his attention, from the left this time. It was a younger self of him again, this time, but a bit older, and now wearing the bandana. The younger Chris sidled up shyly to a girl who was standing there and said "Would you go to the dance with me?" The girl looked at him for a few seconds, and then turned and walked away, saying loudly, "What is the world coming to today, with freaks presuming to ask ME out?" The younger Chris's eyes filled up with tears, and he turned away. The scene faded, just like the other one had. Chris stood there while many of his memories were shown to him again, flashing by. Finally, the last one faded, and he was left standing there, all alone. He cried out to the emptiness, "Why me?" An answer came back. <Because you are special.> Chris sneered. "Being special sucks. I have nobody! <Oh, but you do.> Scenes of him coming to the digital world and meeting up with everyone else there, and meeting Kamika played for him. When they were done, Chris smiled. He felt a bit better, after seeing that. The voice rang out again, in his mind. <You have regained most of your memories, but there are many yet to be remembered. They will not come back on their own... But there is a way.> With those haunting words ringing in his ears, everything went white again.
Christo sweatdropped. She got up, kissed him properly, just for a second, and grabbed her diary.
Kyrainia had just been standing around in various secluded areas throughout the majority of this ordeal. Suddenly she heard a faint "Help" coming from some direction. She quickly went to investigate, finding Chris in Kamika's arms, and Kamika looking rather panicked. " What the heck happened?"
Kamika looked up. "He. . . He fainted all of a sudden!" She blurted out in a panicked voice. "I don't know what's wrong!"
Kyrainia sighed. " Crimady...well, hmm....well does he seem to be okay? I mean besides the fact that he's passed out on the ground....again. I mean, he does still have a pulse and stuff like that right?" she asked.
Kamika nodded numerously, "I'm pretty sure he does. He's still breathing." She started panicking, "What if something's wrong?"
" Well at least he's not dead. Just keep that thought in mind, even if he's practically dead....he's still alive." Kyrainia paused for a second thinking over what she just said. "Umm, nevermind. Well what were you guys doing before he passed out?" She asked as she moved closer to the couple.
Kamika thought to herself. "I. .. I think that. .. There was a bright light but. . . I'm not too sure. .. I. . ." She sighed.
" A bright light? Hmm....well I guess that could have something to do with it.....we should probably try to wake the guy up...."
Kamika nodded. She started shaking him. "Wake up. . ." She said softly. "Wake up. . ."
Chris's eyes stayed closed, and nothing happened.
" Crimady, not this bloody thing all over again. Kamika....do you know if he's just sick or something, and just passed out from sheer exhaustion or something of that nature?"
Kamika shook her head, "I have no idea. .. . Do ... Do you think water will work on him?" She asked.
" It might...though we don't really have anything to get water with....well, we COULD use Chris's bandana again...."
Kamika nodded and took his bandana off. What she saw was surprising. . . "Silver?" She muttered. "Are. . . Are you seeing what I am?" She asked Kyrainia.
Kyrainia bit her lip. " Yeah....I am....god, it's....SILVER. That can't be normal...though I must say.....it kinda suits him.....you know....there's obviously SOMETHING going on with him...."
Kamika sighed, "Let's focus on getting him awake before we question this. .. ." She handed the bandana to Kyrainia. "Could you. .. Get water please?" She asked.
" Yeah....no problem." Kyrainia turned and started walking off muttering things that sounded like " I KNEW that there was SOMETHING wrong with Chris...silver...SILVER! Heh...silver's cool though..."
Kamika turned back to Chris. "What's going on here?" She mumbled. "Silver hair? There's something oddly wrong. . ." She said.
A few moments passed, and Kyrainia came back with the water. " I don't supposed Chris'll be too happy that us pouring water into his sacred bandana again....oh well!" Kyrainia grinned slightly as she poured the water all over Chris.
Chris's eyelids flickered slightly, and slowly opened. They focused automatically on the closest thing....Kyrainia! His eyes narrowed, and he growled, snatching the bandana back and sitting up, dripping with water. "What are you doing?"
" I was just waking up 'Sleeping Beauty' for what is it now? The 3rd, 4th time? And calm down, we didn't harm the 'sacred bandana' it's just a little wet." Kyrainia retorted.
Kamika sighed, "Don't argue you two. . ." She turned to Chris, "Maybe you can explain what happened to your hair. ."
Chris sneered at Kyrainia. "Nasty as usual, I see..." He attempted to wring out his bandana, and suddenly realized what he had just said. "I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!" He coughed. "Sadly enough...." Grinning, he turned to Kamika and heard her question. "My hair? Ohh... dang it..." He realized the obvious conclusion, looking at the damp bandana in his hand. Looking over at the lake, he saw his silver-haired reflection. "Well... it seems to be a side effect of my technology power... Every time I use it, my hair and eyes turn silver temporarily... though I must say, it's staying for quite a bit longer than normal."
Kamika's eyes went wide. "You remember?!?!?!" She gave him a hug. "I'm glad!" She blurted out happily. "Wait. .. Your power gave you this? Will it be permanent?" She asked.
" Now you have yet another way to make you more unique from the group....hmmm... silver hair........."
Chris grinned and hugged back. Then he ran a finger through his hair. "I really don't know if it'll be permanent. It's never stayed this long before." Then he looked at Kyrainia, narrowing his eyes. "Is there a problem with me having silver hair? I swear, I've taken enough crap about it before I started wearing the bandana, that I don't need any more from you!"
Isthian stood blinking foolishly at Christo for a second after getting kissed again. Then... "WAHOO!! Man! The girls just DIG me!!" He started jumping around in what he must have considered a victory dance, but looked more like he was having a seizure, or had gone temporarily insane.
Tsafmon sweatdropped. "I'd go over there and see if he's okay," he remarked to Labramon, "but I have the feeling he'd knock me into that lake again..."
"Yeah. I don't wanna risk it either." agreed Labramon.
Meanwhile...
"Yeah, yeah, don't let it go to your head." said Christo. She picked up Labramon and her diary, and walked off.
"Aww... why'd she have to leave?" Tsafmon looked sadly after Labramon and her partner. "It's no fair." He sunk to the ground, his eyes downcast.
Fiona looked over at Isthian just in time to see Christo give him a kiss. Uh oh. As soon as Christo left Isthian and Tsafmon, she marched over to Isthian... and slapped him. "You idiot!!!!!!!!!" she yelled. "If you ever wonder why I don't like you, that's why, you two-timing idiot freak!"
Taira was busy staring off into space when she snapped out and saw what he made Christo do. She went red with anger and embarrassment. "I can't believe him! than again he is Thian...." Taira thought. Then he had the nerve to say "All chicks dig me!" and it pushed Taira over the digital edge... She walked over and said "YOU PIG!" And with a quick motion gave Isthian a mighty SLAP! "Hmmph!" she said turning off into the other direction.
Once far enough away, Taira came upon the scene of a Silvered haired Chris. A lovely red shade came on her face along with a look of shock.
"What did I miss...."She said softly to Kamika.
At least the red handprints on Isthian's face were symmetrical now. "Ow." In classic anime style, he fell over sideways, whining "I am unloved..."
Back at the Digimon side of the partnership, Tsafmon had gotten bored of his self-pity. He padded swiftly over to Chris, and headbutted his leg. "Hey! Where's Tekumon?" He reared up to his hind legs and waved his arms around to make sure he had the boy's attention. He didn't, of course, even notice the mere change in hair color.
"Aww, don't cry." said Christo, coming back over to the handprinted Thi.
"He's over there somewhere!" said Labramon to Tsafmon.
Isthian jumped to his feet, cheerful again. "Hey, thanks, you're a sweetie. Want another kiss?"
Other place, same time... "Thanks!" Tsafmon chirped at Labramon, then dropped back to all fours and trotted off to search for the other male-partnered Digimon.
"No I do not! I'd slap you, but there isn't that much room left." Christo walked off again.
Fiona, frustrated with the whole thing, threw her hands up in the air and gave a sigh of exasperation. "Fine then, Isthian Hanasaki. If you really liked me you wouldn't act the way you do!!! Go fall down a hole!" And she walked away.
"Er... so... I'll take that as a 'maybe,' then!" Isthian waved cheerily after the departed girls.
Labramon looked over to Tsafmon. "I wonder what he wanted to talk to Tekumon about?" she asked herself.
Chris waved jauntily to Taira. "Oh, not much, Teeg. Just, I passed out again, apparently linked up with my digivice, and got my memories back! He paused, remembering what the voice had said. "Okay, MOST of my memories back." He gestured up to his silver hair. "And everyone seems to have noticed the side effect of my technology power... My hair and eyes turn silver whenever I use it. However, this seems to be staying around a bit longer than it normally does..." He looked around. "I wonder what's up..."
Elsewhere....
Tekumon FINALLY pulled away from Foxmon. Noticing her look of disappointment, he said apologetically. "Sorry, but we've been a while. We should go see what's up with our partners." With that, he flapped off, and eventually joined the others gathered around Chris. "SILVER HAIR?" He fell out of the air, coming to a thump on the ground. "What's going on?"
Chris sighed. How many times was he going to have to explain this? "Where were you, anyway, Tekumon?" He recalled something he had seen while he was amnesiac. "Making out with Foxmon again? You and I have some talking to do." He then proceeded to tell the entire story to Tekumon again. When he was finished, Tekumon looked sheepish.
"I can't believe I wasn't there for you through all of this."
Chris looked at him, but then softened the glare. "It's okay. Just don't do it next time."
Tekumon smiled. "Okay!" He then looked off to his right and saw Tsafmon walking around aimlessly, calling "Tekumon! Tekumon?" He called out, "Hey, Tsafmon! Over here!"
Kamika sighed. She didn't really know how to respond. She felt someone yank on her shirt. "Kamika?" Kamika looked down to see Puttimon. Kamika took her into her arms. "What's wrong, Puttimon?" She asked.
"Do you think that might happen to everyone?" She asked.
Kamika blinked and smiled. "No. . Don't worry about it. . Not everyone has powers. . ." Kamika sweatdropped. "Actually, no one has powers. . . Except Chris. .. I think anyway. . " She smiled and turned to Chris. "How does it feel to have silver hair?" She asked.
Tsafmon perked up at the sound of Tekumon's voice, and padded over. "Heya, buddy!" He blinked. "Weird. I've been looking all over for you, and you were right here?"
Tekumon sweatdropped. "Actually, I was...somewhere else for awhile."
"Oh! Were you doing anything fun?" Again, Tsafmon, the innocent.
Tekumon sweatdropped again. "Yes.... it was fun." he said, grinning.
"That's cool! So, kinda weird having these Humon-thingies, isn't it? Whacha think they're here for?"
Tekumon sweatdropped AGAIN, but then smiled. It was kinda fun talking to someone as simple as Tsafmon. He shrugged. "I think they're here to work with us."
Tsafmon blinked a few times. "Work? Whadda we wanna work for?" His tone turned a bit piteous. "Can't we just play?"
Tekumon shrugged. "But then what about saving the digital world?"
"Aww, let it save itself! That's boring!" He reared up on his hind legs and waved his forearms around. "Lookit this! We've got lotsa new friends and stuff... It'd be a waste to just do that!"
Tekumon sweatdropped. "But... Look at it this way. If the digital world is destroyed, we'll lose all our new friends!"
"Ohhh..." Tsafmon laid down again. "I dun want them to go..." His eyes got teary.
Tekumon sighed. This was not what he had wanted to happen. He gingerly patted Tsafmon on the shoulder. "Don't worry, Tsafmon. They won't go, as long as we work with them to save the digital world."
The lizard-like Digi perked up again at that. "Okay! We'll just do that, then! We'll save the world, and they'll stay, and we'll all be happy! Yay!"
Tekumon grinned. "Sounds good to me."
"That's great!" Tsafmon paused for a few moments, slowly gaining a bored expression before he had a revelation. "Hey! Wanna go play?"
Tekumon grinned. "Sure! Tag! You're it!" He tagged Tsafmon with his organic arm, and flapped off hastily, calling out to the other digimon to join them.
