                            Tattoon Ranma Songfic 2

Let's Hear It For the Boy!

Disclaimer: Ranma, Balla and any other character mentioned in this little ditty
belong to their own respective owners.

The song was originally sung by Denlece Williams in Footloose and the lyrics
have been altered to suit the ones singing this song.

Note: This takes place just after Ranma/Eric had dealt with Nabiki. (No, I'm not
telling you what happens. You'll just have to find out when ch.8 comes out).

[Lyrics]

At a small cafe...

Balla sighed with a dreamy expression as she sipped her ice cream float. The
Tattoon girl had every reason to be happy as she was ready to meet with her
beloved, once he got off from work at the coffee shop that was a few blocks
away.

Eric had been getting a little less intense, ever since he had given that
horrible Nabiki person her just desserts. She had always known that he was
really a sensitive person underneath that gruff exterior. He had showed a hidden
side of his personality during the festival and she knew that if she kept
working at it, she'd be able to make him open up even more.

At that moment, three women came in through the front door and took seats beside
her at the counter. Hiding their true power from even Balla's extraordinary
senses, the three goddesses known as Urd, Belldandy and Aphrodite, dressed in
casual attire, ordered some drinks. The three deities had decided to personally
check up on the blossoming romance that they hoped was occurring between Eric
and Balla. The last time they had appeared, they had seen that the one who had
been formally Ranma Saotome, did indeed have special feelings for the only girl
who ever listened to him.

When Balla giggled quietly at the thought of her Eric, Urd smiled and addressed
her.

"Hmmm. He must be really something to have you giggling like that."

"He sure is!" Balla agreed without thinking, then turned to her left to see who
was speaking to her.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Urd apologized. "I didn't mean to intrude on your thoughts."
"That's okay." The High Priestess said good-naturedly. "How did you know that I
was thinking of my boyfriend?"

"Oh, let's just say that we all know that look in a girl's eyes. We can see that
you've got it bad for him."

"I sure do! Though he wasn't what I expected when I first met him."

"So what's he like?" Aphrodite asked. <As if we didn't know. >

"Well..." Balla began thinking about how to best describe him, then looked
behind her at the stage that was set up in the back. She then eyed the karaoke
machine and got an idea. She skipped over to the stage, inserted a coin into the
slot and picked up the microphone. She selected the background music from a song
she had recently heard on the radio. As the machine began to play, the Tattoon
girl began swaying to the rhythm of the melody, then sang out the first line...

Balla: [My baby, he don't talk sweet! He ain't got much to say! ]

(She remembered all the times Eric was moody and quiet, ignoring her at times. )

Balla: [But he loves me, loves me, loves me! I know that he loves me anyway! ]

(She then used her powers to create a translucent image of Eric in his usual
attire of white shirt, dress pants and shoes. )

Balla: [And maybe he don't dress fine, but I don't really mind! Yeah!]

(At this point, the three goddesses decide to join her on the stage and pick up
microphones )

Balla: ['Cause every time he pulls me near, I just wanna cheer!]

All Three Goddesses: [Let's hear it for the boy!]

Balla: [Let's give the boy a hand! ]

All Three Goddesses: [Let's hear it for her baby!]

Balla: [You know you gotta understand! Yeah! Oh, maybe he's no Romeo, but he's
my lovin' one-man show! Oh, oh, oh, oh! ]

All Three Goddesses: [Let's hear it for the boy! ]

At this point, the other patrons in the cafe turned to listen to the quartet as
Balla continued to move with the music and sang the next line.

Balla: [My baby, may not be rich! He's watchin' every dime!]

(She then conjures up an image of her Eric working hard at the coffee shop.)

Balla: [But he loves me, loves me, loves me! We always have a real good time!]

(The scene changes to when they were at the festival.)

Balla: [And maybe, he gets real teed, but that's all right by me!]

(She remembered when Eric totally blew his top, especially when he met the
Nerima Wrecking Crew.)

Balla: ['Cause what he does, he does so well, makes me wanna yell!]

The Three Goddesses: [Let's hear it for the boy!]

Urd: [Let's give the boy a hand!]

Aphrodite: [Let's hear it for her baby!]

Belldandy: [You know you have to understand!]

Balla: [Oh, maybe he's no Romeo...]

The Three Goddesses: [But he's her one-man lovin' show! Oh, oh, oh, oh!]

All Four at Once: [Let's hear it for the Boy!]

The entire establishment was now grooving to the beat as the customers got into
the performance. Then the four began to wind it down with the reprise as Balla
sung her heart out for her Eric.

Balla: ['Cause every time he pulls me near...]

The Three Goddesses: [She just wants to CHEER!]

All Four at Once: [Let's hear it for the boy!]

Balla: ["Let's give the boy a hand!]

All Three Goddesses: [Let's hear it for her baby!]

Balla: [You know you gotta understand! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Oh, maybe he's no
Romeo, but he's my loving one-man show!]

All Four at Once: [Oh, oh, oh, oh! Let's hear it for the boy!]

All Three Goddesses: [Let's hear it for the boy! ]

Balla: [Let's hear it for my MAN!]

All Three Goddesses: [Let's hear it for her baby!]

Balla: [Let's hear it for my MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!]

All Three Goddesses: [Let's hear it for the boy! Let's hear it for her baby!]

The music gradually faded away as they quietly ended the song. When it was all
over, the crowds couldn't help but give them a standing ovation. At this point
Balla turned to her singing chorus and smiled.

"And that what's my Eric's like!"

THE END

Author's notes: I was in a very silly mood and had the radio on when I heard
this song on the oldies station. Then, I thought, why not? This song seemed
appropriate.
