The "haiku" is a form of Japanese poetry that traditionally deals with nature. The words and stanzas are restricted: the first line of text is five syllables; the second is seven syllables; the third, five syllables, for a total of only 17 syllables. Simplistic yet powerfully moving, the haiku entices the reader to visualize the words and stimulate the senses.

I have brought the haiku to a contemporary level. The following haiku deal with the relationship between Nakago and Soi.

His warm lips kiss mine,
Making me feel so alive.
He owns my lost soul.

When he holds me close,
and I hear his heart beating,
I know what love is.

If I could take back
every wrong ever done,
would she forgive me?

My mother's warm hands;
my mother's sweet caresses....
....I can't remember.....

Golden mane of silk;
eyes, as blue as the ocean;
heart as cold as ice.

If time just stood still,
and we could escape this world,
that would be heaven.

But the enemy,
known as everyday life,
tears my soul apart.

What's hidden behind
that mask you show to the world?
What is your secret?

Her face is heart-shaped.
Auburn tresses hide doe eyes
so full of sadness.

Devotion, trust, love...
She has so much to give me...
Why can't I accept?
