Black/Summoning Magic is used for offensive purposes. It generally has effect over all things, both living and non-living. Black Magic is called s ummoning magic because you can summon beasts, demons, animals and other creatures using this Magic. If you are powerful you are, the more stronger creatures that you may summon up. Black magic gets its power from fear, hate anger, all the negative forces that exist in the Slayers world. By using Black Magic, you mare really summong up the power of a Dark Lord or the high level monsters that exist in the Slayers world. For example: If you use the Dragonslave, which is generally the strongest attack in Black Magic, you are really summong the power of the dark lord Shabranigdo, who is one of the dark lords in Slayers.

How Does The Characters In Slayers Learn Black Magic
One generally learns Black Magic by first truly understanding how it works. By this I think I mean that you must understand how the power flows throughout the dark lords. It's like learning how to meditate and actually meditating.
Also, Black Magic uses things dealing with, like darkness. For example: The Shadow Snatcher is a spell that grabs a hold of your shadow, rendering you useless untill you free yourself.(Or maybe that's a Shammanist spell , I'll check later).
