Game Review: Zelda 64: Ocarina of Time

Zelda 64: Ocarina of Time, was one of the fastest selling games in history, and one the best games for Nintendo 64. Young Link, a Kokiri elf, is the only one to not have a fairy, but one day a special fairy, Navi is sent to him, he must save the Elderly Deku Tree from an invader. That is the beginning of Link's awesome journey through Hyrule. He must collect the three stones and battle Gannondorf. The neat thing about this game is that you can travel through time, from when Link is a kid, to when he's an adult.
The graphics are very impressive for the Nintendo 64, and have no slow down time during game play. The controls are very responsive, and since you can ride his Horse Epona, it adds even more to the game. The sound is a little better than Mario 64, with Link screaming and different sounds according to the time of day. But the soundtrack is unbelievable. You must memorize at least 10 songs and play them on your Ocarina to unlock certain areas of the game, each song with it's own style and tune. This is a must have game for the 64, regardless of how old the machine is. The sequel to this game, Majora's Mask, was just released six months ago. (November 2000). The game is rated E, with minimal violence.
