Game Review: Zone of the Enders
(Written by Oogerscave@yahoo.com)

Don't succumb to the hype as I did. (Ooger)
The game starts out with a nice cgi of a squad of mechs about to storm a space colony orbiting Jupiter. Afterwards the game cuts to a cgi of the main character, Leo, running. He has a flashback where his friends are tied up to a lightpost. Later, a defense mech for the colony loses its footing and crushes Leos friends.Afterwards Leo runs into a hanger where he finds the kickbutt mech that you see above.
Most game sites and mags have been giving great praise to this not-so-great game.Sure the graphic are great and it's pretty cool that almost anything you shoot can be destroyed. Also the controls, even if they take a few battles to get really used to, are dead on. But the story, translation, and voice acting are horrible. "You beat me this time so look forward to the next time, boooooyyyy"-voila. (actual quote) Also the level system in which the more you battle the defense you have and your weapons do more damage is pointless when your top lvl. is 8. Also, contrary to other reviews, it doesn't take 10+ hours to beat. It only took me 4 hours the first time around. For other gamers it took less than 3.
In the End z.o.e is a beautiful game that really lacks depth. But it's still definitly worth a rent.
